Movers get there (11/22) and now trying to tell me I needed an ADDITIONAL 600 cubic square ft that would have cost another $2k. So I had to get rid of my beds. THERE'S HIDDEN FEES!!!! From charging extra for packing material to removing items from your home. I spoke to Ms.Nicole (several times) and the dispatcher (2 days before pickup) that I would need help getting rid of furniture I wasn't taking. Come move day they wanted an extra $500. Not happening, so I had to find other people to help me clear the rest of my apartment out. Then this morning (12/22) when I got my items back, the driver( someone different) charges me an extra $150 for stairs...I was told (per document) it was $75 per flight of stairs..I live on the second floor. The driver says 8 steps is considered a flight to him so I had to pay an extra $75 to get my stuff. THE ENTIRE PROCESS AFTER BOOKING HAS BEEN ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER AFTER ANOTHER. When they movers showed up, they doubled the cost after loading the small truck. It was a shock. Was I going to tell them to unload the truck? Not possible. I was stuck signing the moving papers. Bit the bullet on that one, but the cost has festered for months. They said I'd get my furniture in 4-5 days. It arrived two weeks later. Nicole was very nice and very responsive during the onset of our quoting and deposit phase of our move. Then when the movers came to our place, they were very aggressive with their antics and immediately told us that we were over our minimum space. We were very detailed when we told Nicole what items and boxes we were going to be moving. After they got all of our things on the truck, they told us that we had more than doubled the space and they wanted more than double of what our original price was to move. My daughter was there when they came to pick it up & when they loaded it, they told her she was 6 inches over and had to charge her over.$800+ for an additional 200 cu.ft. She essentially begged them to rearrange and maximize the space as she could clearly see they had been loaded poorly (now we know that tactic is intentional). They made a half baked attempt to do so but was still over a "few inches". They told her if she was even over 1 inch they had to charge her for an additional 200 cu.ft.of space. They threatened to throw everything off the truck and leave it there so We had no choice but to pay up as the storage space it was in was closed out that day and we had no way and nowhere to move/store her items. But come to find out, from numerous reviews I've read since, this is their tactic. They give you a moving estimate well below what other movers charge to lure you in. Again my fault for not doing my due diligence. I had gotten estimates from 8 to 10 other moving companies and researched a lot of them and I thought this was one of them so I went with them. As my wife and I were preparing to move from southern California to central Illinois, we were a bit intimidated by the prospect of trusting strangers with all of our possessions, but speaking with Evan Bison gave me complete confidence that our belongings were in good hands. Unfortunately, as you can see from the other reviews, Evan Bison is an accomplished liar. The day before we had to leave the state, half our stuff was in the truck when the driver informed us that we had reached the limit of our agreed upon price, and he asked me if I wanted any more of our furniture to be loaded on the truck. The actual price ended up more than double what we agreed, and several priceless items were damaged. For example, the movers left my priceless Henredon solid mahogany dresser completely uncovered, and it was badly scratched up. The leg of my desk was snapped off, so the whole thing had to be smashed into firewood and tossed in a trash dumpster, and several other items were lost. When I tried to contact Evan Bison to have my belongings delivered to our new address, I was told in broken English that Evan is merely in sales, and that he has nothing to do with my business anymore, and they hung up on my four separate times. I realized that trying to sue Bison Relocation would just add more stress to my life, so I just decided to absorb the loss and move on with my life. I called and received a quote that was reasonable. That was the best part of everything. I had 6 guys show up and they came in with boxes and blankets and tape. they just started packing stuff and did not take any direction from myself or my husband. They had a bunch of stuff packed and waiting by the truck. Then they informed us that the price was now 10 thousand dollars more than the quote. They said it was due to packing and handling. They even taped boxes that I already had ready to go. We had to leave alot of our stuff due to the price that they were racking up. When my stuff arrived the driver told us that we had to unwrap everything and that they were only to take to our house and after that it was up to us. I could not even believe this because that is not what our contract said. As we started to unpack we found alot of stuff that was broken including some irreplaceable items. I have tried to call the company for some assistance in making a claim and have not even been able to get a call back. It is no wonder I had so much stuff to pack. As I was unpacking I found a full trash can from my office of shredded paper upside down in a large box. I also found every used roll of tape in those boxes and packing paper that I had purchased still in boxes and they were packed in other boxes. They did not take care to wrap or even be careful with my electronics. They were just throwing stuff in boxes. Whether it needed to be packed or not. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We hired another company that brokered us to this company. If this company shows up to your door, just forfeit any deposit you have paid. It will be worth it as it will cost you more to deal with them. We were quoted one price when we were very honest about what we had. Showed up in a rented truck and charged 4 times the quoted price. $12K more than quoted. They saw everything before they put the first box in their truck. They didn't tell us the new price until they had everything loaded in the truck. Classic bait and switch. I said F no and made them take everything out except for what they would take for the quoted price. I had already paid $1K deposit and thought it would be better to not lose my deposit. Big mistake. Once they had my stuff, both companies ghosted me. Would not take phone calls. After three weeks, I finally got someone to answer but would not tell me when I would get my stuff. I thought all of our stuff was stolen. A month later our stuff showed up. Broken furniture beyond repair, computer fried (must have stored it in a really hot warehouse or dropped it), so much stuff stolen, roaches in the boxes (we live in a part of the country that really does not have roaches), boxes had clearly been opened and repacked and the worst part - financial docs that were in a box, in a box, in a box had been opened and some statements missing. I had to change all of my bank accounts, credit cards and put a freeze on our credit with Equifax. These people should be arrested. If you have to use movers, only use ones that have been around for decades and are well known. After the fact, I was told by many people that movers are known for this kind of stuff and basically, there is nothing you can do about it. I wish we would have just rented a UHaul and taken all of our stuff. I called the police and they promptly stopped, forcing me to find another mover within 24 hours as my ticket to fly out was booked. Cost me thousands of dollars not to mention stress. Believe all of the poor reviews. I am currently dealing with Bison in getting my delivery. The same bait and switch happened to me. I spoke with Steve on the sales end. He said I would be working solely through him. I haven't spoken with him since the contract was signed. Half way through loading I get the "over the limit" speech. I was told the charge would be double what was quoted. The assholes loading the truck were brash enough to laugh out loud while I was walking away after the supervisor told me that either I pay or they unload everything. After all was loaded, I was told to put the date of my first availability on the delivery form. I list 11/12/24 (5 days as stated by sales that was the first delivery available for the distance). The supervisor looked at me as if I was expecting a miracle and said that it was too soon. I crossed out 11/12 and put 11/16 instead. I got a call the next day from the dispatch department and was asked if I could be available on the 13th for delivery. I told him that would work perfectly because that was closer to the original date I wanted. I got a call from the driver this morning (11/11) and was told that he will deliver tomorrow (11/12). I was told that I will have to pay the final amount in cash or US Postal service money order. I told him that I was told the 13th was the delivery date. He basically said that it was not his problem and that he was just the driver and that if I did not accept the delivery on the 12th I would be charged a hold fee. The contract states that storage for up to 30 days is free. He stated that it no longer applied as it was set for delivery. He told me that he will give a 2 hour notice before delivery.Today is a federal holiday. Obviously, the post office will not be opened today. My suspicion is that he will call me at 6 am to deliver at 8 am making it impossible to get the money order from the post office... a strong arm tactic to be paid in cash. Had I taken my time to do reviews as I normally do before hiring services I would have been spared this headache. Who knows what the state of my belongings will be in when they arrive. Bison Relocation, Inc. is an absolute scam. I concur with one of the earlier reviews, I also believe in Karma...it will pay in kind. I hope someone will want to get a group of past customers that have been scammed together to hire a law firm to take this company on. Hell, it may even be me that looks into the it. Moved from CA to FL in September. when I called for an estimate, I was told the minimum is 300cf will be $1778 based on the item list I gave their sales rep Evan. They came on the first day of the two possible offered on September 25, packed up everything within an hour and promised delivery within 5 days at Destination. Once everything was on the truck, I was told I have 600Cf. when I called the office, I was told by the dispatch lady that they can ship what is on the estimated 300cf and leave the balance in CA. I was charged another $2034 on the spot for total to $3500. When arriving home after 5 days I called the office to check when will the truck arrive, I was told they have up to 21 days and that the truck left CA the day I arrived in FL which is 5 days after they promised delivery date. Now I'm sitting in an empty apartment with only a change of clothing and some basics for a day or two. When asking the dispatch in CA when will my delivery arrive, I was given the driver's number. He had his own share of "stories" of delays due to Hurricane Helen (that passed the day they left CA) and Hurrican Kirk when he was still in Texas that delayed shipments, and the truck broke down twice. After many phones calls and conversations with him I was finally contacted by an owner named Sean to work out the payments and the breakdown. I was charged $872.40 before the truck that finally arrived today October 21st, 2024, was unloaded. In one of the phones calls this morning I was threatened they will take the shipment back to CA and never receive it. Never work with this company. Even one star is too much for them!! read more

HORROR STORY OF A COMPANY. Do not use this company. I should have listened to the reviews. Even though they are a mover and not a broker they did everything like a broker. ...100% true story..... And it was a classic bait and switch.....the driver and two helpers showed up at 8:30 at night....2.5hrs late. They were in a rented Penske box truck. They did a fantastic job wrapping and loading....2 hrs start to finish. So now it's 10:30pm....the driver says I went over my square footage....which I knew and addmitted to. BUT.....instead of about $700 I owe for this portion at loading....it's now $2459 (after a slight discount)........It's simply not possible that I nearly tripled the square foottage....just not possible as all of the large items where accounted for. Yes I had more boxes than I thought I would. But not that much for SQ Footage....but what am I to do???? 10:30 at night....the truck is loaded......They had me by the balls. I told the driver this was wrong....but paid it as what else can you do. Please keep in mind that since this portion is more, I will now owe the delivery driver more CASH upon delivery. No longer about $600 but now $1053. I was hoping to reach a middle ground when I spoke with the office the next morning and get a rebate....I was hoping for $459 off. But the driver lied to me on several points: 1) Copies of the paper work would be in my email the next morning 2) the truck was going to Colorado the next morning and be loaded on a truck headed to my delivery. When I called the next day on Friday morning - the office didn't have the paperwork yet. Told me to call back on Monday. On Monday I spoke to Dispatch. She flat out told me there was no way i was getting a cost reduction. I asked to speak to Steve in sales....oh no...that is not an option...once the sale is made you will never hear from or be able to reach the salesman. I asked for a manager......turns out he's gone for the day...at 3pm! He'll call me tomorrow. Another lie. No call on Tuesday. I called again on Wed. Same BS...supervisor will call you today. No call. Thursday...one week after my furniture is picked up, I find out it's sitting on a dock in California waiting to be dispatched. I finally reach a supervisor. We go over the numbers. Says the driver did nothing wrong. Again I explain, the additional items did not nearly triple the sq. footage....just not physically possible. Not loud about it at all. He was obliviously well practiced at this routine....asked if I had anyone back in Utah....of course not....I moved a week ago.....He becomes angry. Says "Fine.....I'll turn the truck in Texas around. Drop the stuff off at the old house and you can fly out and deal with it." And HANGS UP ON ME. To end this horror story.....the furniture arrived exactly 20 days after pickup. It had been repacked at least once and 2 tables with broken legs. I originally called the company and gave a very OCD / ICU nurse detailed list with pictures of EVERYTHING in my storage. Having used movers before, I was ready. I had to move my brother from California to Massachusetts after our mother passed away. I gave the0 m a VERY extensive list of items, they gave me a price, I gave them a deposit. When movers showed up they said it was WAY over the cubic sq ft allowed (532), so we removed a motorcycle, and several tool boxes. I paid the original fee based on the 532 sq ft they said I was back at. The load showed up in Massachusetts one month later and they gave me 14 hours notice. Ok, but then the drivers truck broke down, they show up the next afternoon and because it is snowing he said he can't come down the street. He will go to maine drop off a load and come back. He came back the next morning, said he can only meet them in a shopping plaza lot because there is snow on the roads (mind you this IS NEW ENGLAND but we only go 2" the day before. I then have to send 2 pick up trucks and several guys to move all the stuff from accross the city in a parking lot to the house. NO MONEY WAS DEDUCTED FOR ME HAVING TO PICK UP ANDMOVE ALL MY STUFF. They moved all of our belongings to the front yard, and loaded half of the 26ft truck and said that was all the space we paid for and that if we wanted to move the rest of our belongings the price would increase to $22,000. Absolutely not! That's triple the original price. No one at this company would answer the phone for us, conveniently and the guy refused to get anyone on the phone for us to speak to. We told them to just unload our belongings back to the driveway and we'll move them back inside the house. They then slammed the door shut on the truck and said they needed to be paid $2000 to unload our things. We had to call the police who informed them that they needed to unload it all. They proceeded to throw our belongings into the middle of the street completely blocking the roadway and sped off. We now have many broken items. Many of which we won't know about until we actually move because everything is packed. On top of that we're going to have to fight for the deposit back if it's even possible and we still need to find a way move our belongings. This company is an absolute nightmare! CROOKS!! I received a quote to move my items from AZ to IL for 3,600.00. I provided and inventory and updated it 5 days before the move. On move day they loaded the truck. Then came to me and said it is actually 7,200. Either agree or they unload it all back into my apartment. I was literally getting on a plane the next morning and my lease was up. I had no choice. I was forced to agree to the increase, under duress. When I asked why the increase all they said was the cu ft was more. tried to call the company 4 times. Left 2 messages to ask about the increase. They finally called me the day of delivery. Indicating that I agreed to the price and am only arguing about the price now upon delivery. They said they did not get the m messages and I should have called during business hours, which I did. Again, I am being forced into paying this amount because they will not deliver until I pay them upon arrival in cash. Or they will take my things to a warehouse and store them, until I agree to pay them the amount in full. Which they will then charge me storage fees for.
