We had Bison plumbing come to our home to snake out our drains. This was strictly for maintenance. We had it snaked out last year with a different company. Their equipment broke off inside our drain and they say they are not responsible. But they quoted us $3,458.00 to fix it. UNBELIEVABLE! I wouldn't trust them to do any further work. They claim we had a faulty trap. Amazing that our trap was just fine one year ago. Perhaps their workers don't know what they are doing. Perhaps they had faulty equipment! I called them Monday morning due to a toilet clogging every flush. They were out the late afternoon of that same day. They confirmed the toilet needed replacement upon inspection. They replaced the toilet and flushed it numerous times just to ensure the issue was resolved. The two guys that came out were super nice and very respectful of our home. They wore booties and kept everything clean while working. They explained everything being done in great detail. It's been 8 days since they were here. The issue with our toilet exist no more. I also want to note that their pricing is so much more reasonable than some of the other plumbing agencies we have used. I use to use Motor city plumbing. Bison does the same level of quality work, but the pricing is not as high. On average for the work I had done. Bison came in on average about $100 dollars less.The only thing that is different with Bison is, the service fee is not rolled into or towards the bill like the other agencies do. Just has a great experience with this company. We had a water heater leak that needed repair. There was a lot that we liked about the service we received. 1) The staff answering phones is courteous and actually slows down and listens to your questions. 2) We were able to schedule an appointment relatively quickly 3) Bison send a text with pictures of the plumbers that would be coming to the house...very nice security measure 4) After inspecting our water heater, the plumbers offered us options to either repair or replace the heater. Offering pros and cons for both options, we never felt pressured into a more expensive option. 5) Once we decided to replace, they were able to finish the job the same day. I was expecting to have to schedule a return visit 6) The plumbers Daniel and Patrick were very clean and took the time to make sure that they didn't leave a trace of their visit All in all, this was a great company to work with and would highly recommend. read more

my dad needed his shut off valves replaced under his bathroom sink. he had all the parts including a new faucet. they sent 2 guys out for the job and only took them one and half hours. they charged him $650 which I feel they took advantage of an elderly person. so watch out this company is scamming the elderly. read more

I had a leak in my basement when I ran the kitchen sink so I gave Bison plumbing a call. They were able to identify the problem (cast iron pipe rotted out in wall) and come up with a solution (redo plumbing from kitchen sink to basement drain with PVC pipe). They gave me a quote which ended up being $250 less than all the three other quotes I ended up getting. The install went smooth. They showed up on time and took half a day for the job which is what they quoted me. Pictures of the job attached to this post. Had a different plumbing company out to troubleshoot a blocked toilet and backup. After two unsuccessful visits (and $$$) the problem was still there, so I called Bison. Rick & Vern came out the next morning and were GREAT to work with. They were very thorough in their investigation and communicative about what they could do to fix the problem. They were careful of their shoes (wore plastic shoe covers inside) and wiped up their work area. We recently had some water in our basement early morning hours. We called multiple places (not Bison!) and was able to get someone to come out. Long story short, they wanted to jackhammer up our basement for a cracked pipe, but they had already packed up the camera so we couldn't see the cracked pipe. It didn't sound right to my husband and I, so we didn't do it. While dealing with the plumber we called the City of Warren. When they city came out, we were given a list of plumbers and the guy said "Call one of these guys. We work with them all the time, and they will not rip you off.". We felt if the city was willing to recommend a company, they must work with them regularly and do good work. We wanted to get a second opinion on the pipe, so we called Bison. The guy my husband spoke to was very nice. They had Saturday hours so we were able to have them out at a time that was good for us, and it wasn't considered an emergency service. Bonus! Two techs came to the house, I wish I knew their names, but they were great. They got to work right away putting a camera down a few of the clean-outs in the basement. Within a few moments they said "I don't see a crack. Your pipes are in really good shape.". They explained everything we were seeing on the camera, what type of pipes are in our house and area, and how we have a tie-in with our neighbors. Both techs almost immediately said what the other plumber told us was wrong and if there was a crack, they should have shown it to us on the camera. These two professionals gave us peace of mind that our original decision was correct. Then we felt a bit mad that we were about to get ripped off by the other guys. Lol It is nice to know that we now have a plumber when we need one and we feel we can trust them, and they are not just trying to make a buck off of us. Called Bison and made appointment for them to come out Wednesday to assess/fix elbow drip/leak. Bison called back a couple hours later and stated they had two service men available to come out today and I said okay. They came out assessed problem and gave quote to replace a copper elbow due to drip/leakage, I do not have any plumbing knowledge and agreed. They charged me $305.00 for 10 minutes of work and 6 inches of copper. Now that I have had a few minutes to do some research I realize that this job was extremely over priced for a non emergency and for the work performed and feel completely takin advantage of. This company sends out very young men that don't know what they are doing ! They told me my main drain couldn't be snaked ! I asked why they said not sure our cameras couldn't pick up Anything ! Then sent me a quote for 3,800 dollars to dig up my yard ! How do you give someone a quote on something when u don't even know what the problem is ?! On the advise from a neighbor I reached out to Bison Plumbing due to a backed up sewer in my basement. They can out that day and cleaned out all the drains except the kitchen area since they found out the pipe was broken. Obviously the basement needed to be dug up to replace the pipe. That same day I was scheduled for repair within a few days. Rick along with Brian & Aaron just completed the repairs. They did a professional job & completed it in the morning. They keep me informed as well as showed me where the area that they were replacing . They then checked to see if anything else needed to repaired. I told the lady I needed to do wash and if they could come sooner I would appreciate that. When the plumber showed up, he said that was something they don't fix, and he said that he was not told what the problem was. How can you schedule appointments for jobs you can't do? They were cordial and professional but using 2 different machines they were unable to unclog my sewer drain. Quoted me approximately $4,200 to break up concrete and do new pipes. Roto Rooter came out the next day and fixed the issue for $300. Try harder next time guys. read more

I called Bison on August 23, 2016 when a foul smell appeared in our bathroom. Andrew was able to fit us in on short notice, which we greatly appreciated. When he came he took pictures of the plumbing and told us his boss, Jeff, would call us with an estimate the next day. TWO FULL DAYS later, I called and spoke to Kathy. She said she would have Jeff call me. The NEXT day, Jeff called with an estimate of $1,125 to provide an offset P-trap and bathtub fixtures - which is more than the going rate, but we wanted this in a rush. I gave him the go ahead and was told parts were ordered and he told me that he would call to schedule the installation. On September 6, 2016, Ray came to my house to take measurements (meaning the parts had not been ordered). He told me that he would "find the best price" for me and I would get a call when they could install. On September 9, 2016, Andrew returned to the house for the installation - but no one had called to set up the appointment and the only one home was my teenage daughter! I called and spoke to Vern, who apologized and had Andrew come back in the afternoon. This meant an unexpected afternoon off, but we needed the shower fixed, so we were glad to have Andrew come back. When he began the installation, he found that the parts were the wrong size. On September 14, 2016 I called to speak to Jeff, the owner. I explained that I was frustrated by the lack of communication throughout the process and wanted to know when we could get this wrapped up. He told me that he would call and see when the part could be shipped and "maybe" he could ask for express shipping. We were more than two weeks from the initial call! He told me if it could be in by Friday, he could do a Saturday installation - and wouldn't charge me for all the extra trips. For real?! Those "extra trips" were mistakes on his end! On September 17th, Andrew was finally able to complete the installation and did a great job (I even gave him money to buy himself birthday lunch). I asked him to have Jeff email me a detailed invoice and give me a call about my experience. As of today, I have seen and heard nothing from Bison, but a full charge to my credit card. Yes, this is a 5 star review for a plumbing business. I'm just as shocked as you. As a woman with long hair, several pets, no in-sink garbage disposal, and male house guests who elect to shave off their gnarly beards above my bathroom sink- I've gotten pretty good at cleaning out blockages in my pipes. I know how to snake a drain, take apart a p-trap, install new pipes, etc. I've lived in my old 1920's house for 5 years with multiple issues that I've tackled without the assistance of a plumber. Not much phases me. However, when funky water started gurgling up in my basement shower whenever I ran a load of laundry, I was stumped. And not just stumped- freaked out. Homegirl doesn't really want to tangle with anything concerning sewage lines. I didn't look around for a plumber- I called the first one I saw in a local newspaper. The fact that their motto is "no bull" was cute, but not really a selling point. What did intrigue me was the "no dig" method of sewer repair, the drain jetting, and the sewer camera. The year prior I had witnessed a neighbor have his yard ripped apart for an extremely expensive sewer repair; I figured if my drain issue was major, these guys could probably handle it better than the conventional plumber my neighbor used. The service tech came out on time, calling and confirming his arrival beforehand. He made a point of using my side door to avoid messing up my house with snow and "debris" from the sewer snake. Apparently it was a simple matter of tree roots growing from the storm line into the main sewer line through an old-timey junction that the 1920's builder thought was a smart choice. Nothing big. I asked about applications of RootX (the previous owner of the house had recommended that I get them every year- of course I didn't listen), and after discussing how long I had been in the house without incident, the tech said I could likely steer clear. Drain cleaning was $65; RootX treatments are $185. It was hugely refreshing to deal with someone who was upfront about cost vs benefit. Overall, they were professional, efficient, willing to work around my crazy schedule, and cheap. If I ever need plumbing services again, I'll definitely use them. read more

Have used Bison Plumbing for several years from having replacement of sump pumps, snake the sewer lines, toilet floats, upgrading the bathroom faucets and repairing the leaking joint connectors under the sink to replacing the garbage disposal. Today they took apart the garbage disposal to see if it could be repaired instead of my having to buy a new one. It couldn't be fixed so they had to install a new one. Joe and Pat were the "plumbing crew" today. Polite, efficient and thorough in their explanation of their work that had to be done. Lady at the office is a bit rude but that hardly warrants 1 star- especially when a professional like Vern provides the excellent service he did for the basement plumbing. He arrived on time, explained the whole process to me, answered my admittedly multiple questions, and provided valuable advice about the mechanics of my house. Had Bison install a sewer liner in our main sewer line, best of all very little digging, if we had the sewer dig up we would of had to replace part of our street and concrete next to our house. The line was over 90 feet and we only had one hole dig up about 3x4 feet. The crew was very professional they left the job site very clean. read more

they are a scam. send them to one of my rental on Nov 4th for snake the bath tube and sink. they showed up as scheduled, didn't snake the bath tube or the sink. removed the toilet, didn't try to snake the toilet, put the toilet back on without the wax ring. removed the cover to the crawl space, left on the side when they left. went under the crawl space and told me the kitchen sink is leaking. Afterwards, I could not get hold of them, have to send in another plumber to take care of the problem they were suppose to take care of. The other plumber gave me a report as follows. 1. the kitchen sink is not leaking as Bison claimed. 2. The toilet is leaking because they didn't put the was ring back in there. 3.
