This was such an amazing experience. Aaron, gave me this confidence that I never knew I could have with hair. I've never gotten a short, blunt cut, nor do I ever take risks with my hair. But this was the best decision I ever made for my hair. I've gotten so many compliments and I cannot stress how comfortable I immediately felt as soon as I walked in. Aaron was so friendly and open with any of my concerns while working meticulously and delicately. I've never really had a hairdresser who left me completely satisfied with my hair! He managed to get rid of my ugly layers and also thinned it out without creating frizz from additional random layers. The vibe of the salon is welcoming and hip, and they give you a complimentary drink. There's plenty of seats, parking outside, and friendly workers. I will be continuing to come again and referred many friends to also come as well. read more

Took my 14 year old here for a cut and shampoo. Turned out great, we had an appointment and only had to wait a few minutes. They were all very nice and welcoming, we were offered a drink right away. The salon looked clean and our stylist was great. I feel terrible about this, but I didn't get her name; if you go there, her station had a lot of stickers all around the edge of the mirror. She did an excellent cut in the right amount of time, which wasn't rushed, but yet quick enough for a teenage boy. We will definitely be going back. read more

This is the first time I had gotten my hair cut in 2 years after a traumatic hair cutting experience and it was the best experience I could have ever asked for. Dani was funny, kind, welcoming, and most importantly listened to what I wanted and what I was afraid of! Having curly hair, it can sometimes be difficult to find an experienced hair stylist who know how to work with curls but they did so amazing and allowed me to voice my concerns and past experiences of it being too short. They made my whole time at the salon positive and empowering. I am so thankful a friend recommended me to them. This is the best haircut and best salon experience I have EVER had I will definitely go back to Dani any time I need a hair cut. It was well worth driving 50+ miles for! I love it so much. Happy to be yassified by them hehe :) read more

I came here being referred to a friend and I was instantly wowed by the facility and hospitality of everyone, starting off with the receptionist. She was so friendly and funny and the beer on tap is definitely super cool. The place overall is so trendy and has such an edgy, but inviting interior. Aaron cut and colored my hair and he did such a FREAKING AMAZING job. My hair was previously a mess, due to a poorly "blunt" haircut that was extremely layered, leaving short layers. I was so hesitant that these short layers were going to be hard to work around, but Aaron seamlessly cut my hair to incorporate those layers. I love this blunt cut so much and color!! I definitely recommend Aaron! He pays so much attention to your hair, assessing it before, during and after. He makes sure everything is at perfection and is such a sweet person to talk to. I'm definitely coming back, and sincerely highly recommend this hair salon. read more

Love this place. Cool vibes. Great stylists who always do a great job. Definitely found my go to spot for all my hair styling needs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Emily Taylor! After a disappointing result at another salon, I was ready to give up and head to Walgreens for a box of black hair dye, but my husband encouraged me to give Bishops a call and see if they could help correct. After a consultation with Emily I felt positive. I am so glad I went ahead and booked with her. She was amazing, understanding, personable and professional! She not only saved my hair from damage but gave me the results I desired! Better than expected. So happy and highly recommend Bishops and Emily Taylor for your color! read more

I've been to going to Linda at Bishops for a few months now. Today's visit was a disappointing experience. Had an appointment with Linda and was already in their parking lot when they called me 4 minutes before my appointment time. The receptionist said their system double-booked for my appointment time and asked if the barber could cut my hair instead. Since I was already there, I said yes. The barber got straight to the point and annoyingly asked, "so what am I doing?" I responded to her with just a trim and she asked if I wanted a skin fade which Linda usually does for me. After I said yes, she quickly responded with, "it'll be $45." I knew going in their prices had gone up because I saw it on their online appointment system. As with all other businesses, I can understand that prices go up from time to time. However, their new increased prices also indicated new additional services: "Includes complimentary rinse and hot towel finish." So did any of this happen during my visit? No, it did not as my haircut was finished in less than 15 minutes with the last several minutes of the barber staring at Linda for some reason. Not sure if she was waiting for the trimmer Linda was using or was just zoning out while I was still in the chair. In the middle of the cut, she undid my cape and proceeded to keep cutting my hair. Therefore, hair went down my shirt and on my clothes. So no hair rinse and now I have hair everywhere. The haircut result? My hair on the sides are not even; one side is longer than the other. Also, I believe a fade is supposed to "fade" the hair into the skin. You can see in the picture there is a distinct line where the hair is at different lengths. Lastly, the last time I got a haircut here my skin had an allergic reaction to something they used. Not sure if it was from chemicals or uncleaned equipment. Maybe they were giving me the "blow off cut" and I didn't take the hint last time. I sure get it this time now! read more

I had Juanita as my stylist. She was so kind and gave me exactly the hairstyle I've been wanting for years. Normally when I try to get this hairstyle, people always mess it up and don't do it right. Juanita did it perfectly while also giving amazing customer service. The rest of the staff were also really nice as well as the place itself. read more

Got a free haircut coupon from one of the friendly barbers here called Franki here and decided to check it out since I work nearby. They're very friendly here, and they have free beer too! Dark stuff but pretty good considering I don't usually get anything at the barbers! Nika is a sweet person who took her time on my haircut, stopping to ask me if it was good length-wise or not at the time, really professional and solidly good hair stylist! I even got a shampoo from her that ended up being $5 more but was a nice head massage kinda experience, might as well treat yourself while you've had beer while getting your haircut. Keep in mind, the hair doesn't go into the beer because you'll probably put it down while getting it cut...probably. They use a Santa Ana based pomade that's on par with the Crew stuff that sells for more, the local pomade is $12 for a good palm sized container, actually reasonable enough to buy like it was Target. All in all, friendly staff, haircuts on the pricier side compared to budget cuts like Greatclips but gotta treat yourself every now and then! Being close to work helps a lot too, could do the whole cut and shampoo with medium length hair in a lunch break, plus get a beer in at the same time! read more

10/10 THE Best haircut I've ever had in my entire life, combined with the best customer service experience of any haircut place or salon! First off , I was in the area doing some work, and popped my head in to see what this place was about. Right away, they offered me craft beer, snacks, and other refreshments as they prepared and cleaned their tools. They told me to sit down as they have me a coupon for a FREE haircut !!! Frankie introduced himself to me, and we hit it off extremely well. He was easy to talk to, complimentary, funny, and overall a great guy. I loved the artistic and beautiful magazine cutouts of models and celebrities mixed with fashion icons that he had surrounding his work station. I told him "Surprise me with a good fade". He maneuvered around and through my hair with expert precision with his tools and clippers. I was pleasantly surprised. While sipping my IPA brew, eating brownies and gummy bears, he went to town on my hair , conversing and complimenting me, and then guiding me over to the sink to wash my hair. He put some type of palm-oil gel or cream in my hair that helped to sculpt it. Another stylist also came by to snip and cut a few hairs here and there. I seriously felt like royalty or a celebrity being pampered. In the end, Frankie styled my hair in an awesome haircut that I've been getting nonstop compliments on all day ! I will be coming back every 4-6 weeks. He also gave me a huge stack of free haircut coupons that I've been handing out to people who compliment me or look like they could use a haircut too ! I highly recommend you get your haircut here. Not only is the place clean , with a high class/classy atmosphere , free beer and snacks , but the staff is very qualified to do the job and there's hardly a wait time at all. No more will I WASTE my money on some cheap Fantastic Sams or GreatClips haircut or do it myself. I'm going with the pros ! Thanks Frankie ! I will be sending many people your way so prepare for a wave of new customers !!' read more

3 stars for average service. Not bad service, just average... I made an appointment from yelp. Went in . Guess I made an appointment at the wrong location. Make sure you verify the location! Anyway average service because when I got there. (To the wrong place) the employees were busy and shooed me away. I guess a teeny bit of empathy would have been nice. The shop was clean and nice.. I'm sure I would have enjoyed my cut there. Oh well. read more

Linda is my go-to! She takes the time to make sure my haircuts are perfect. Also, I love the 7-day policy where you can come back to make adjustments to your haircut, like making it shorter. It's also nice that they serve you water/beer as soon as you check in. read more

A great experience! This is my third time going to Bishops for a long cut and I have left happy every time. Holly cut my hair and did a great job. She did exactly what I asked for and made sure not to cut my hair too short, checking in with the length and asking exactly what I wanted, no pressure to get anything else done to my hair. I hate getting my hair cut, but the stylists here are always so welcoming. It truly is such a normal experience (I mean normal in the best way- nothing weird nothing strange- very comfortable!) read more

I had a pretty great haircut here recently. I have middle age hair that is starting to change texture, so it is kind of weird and doesn't behave like it used to, and I wasn't really sure what to do with it. Juanita took a look and helped me figure out a good shape and style and directed me to a shampoo that works much better for me. The length ended up a little shorter than I requested, probably because my hair was straight when I went in, but after cutting some length, it sprung up quite a bit. Surprise, your hair gets wavier when you get older! But it looked much better and I'm really satisfied with the results. I think the price is reasonable for what it is and I feel like I would get a pretty good cut going back. read more

I'm not a Newport beach or Beverly Hills stylist kinda guy. I want to look good, get an appointment easily and be in and out with a good haircut. Is that too much to ask? Well Bishops gets it - I make my appointments online, walk in, get quickly seen, and get a great haircut. I've been here 3x and each time with a different barber and each time I've been complimented on my haircut. Bishops is definitely my "go to"! read more

I am writing this for my husband because he simply loves his barber Monica! He has loved getting his hair cut by her so much that he even moved shops when she came over to Bishops. She is super friendly and so nice to everyone, and she listens to her clients. My husband can be rather particular about his styles, but she always makes him look great even when he has her try different kinds of cuts on him. Monica does an incredible job each and every time, and we so appreciate her skills as a professional barber as well has her positive attitude and personality. We can't say enough good things about her and have referred our friends and family to her as well. She was able to squeeze him in before we left for our family vacation last week so the Hubs was looking Fly while we were in Maui! Mahalo Monica, he'll see you again in a few weeks! When in doubt ask for Monica! read more

I've never had a terrible haircut but also never had a great haircut, or even a good haircut. I'd say they've all been pretty average and I've been 3 times and have had 3 different stylists. The shop is nice and clean and booking very simple. Pricing is alright, more than supercuts but less than a salon. However, I've never been all that happy when I walk out the door. If you're looking for a place that's a better than supercuts but not quite a salon then this might work for you. For me, the third time was not the charm and I probably won't return. read more

Solid hair cut and salon. This was my first visit and not my last because no appointment is needed. You'll receive a free consult with every color service which is SO nice bc it gives you a clear idea of time and cost. I always feel weird about asking for pricing on my hair at other salons, so I like that I can get the info up front. Plus, really liked the person who designed the interior. It's got this industrial edge to it so you don't feel so much like you're at a Uber girly salon. Chloe is awesome sauce. I had my hair cut and toned by her. She asked questions, explained what she was doing every step of the way and truly made my blow out last! Omg, I've never had beach wavy curls last and look as good as getting it done in LA. Soooo... I plan to come back in when I need a hair cut and potential color. Glad it's so close to home! read more

Hi I recently got hair cut done from Bishops (sand canyon Irvine center drive ) from Jenna. I saw her Instagram for reference. I had shown her what hair cut I want and how layer should look like. She did her job but it was way different than what was asked for. My hair layer were blended and something long U or similar. I just told her it was not done right and I paid. She gave me reason for my Asian hair texture. When I came home I sent her video of similar layer cut done one Asian like me for reference. In return she blocked me and sent message --- "That is exactly how your hair was cut. I'm sorry your unsatisfied with your results, however I am a professional I always stand by my work and it looks like we will not be a good fit in the future. Best of luck to you in finding someone who meets your unrealistic expectations for your hair type/ texture. Best wishes!" I did cut 3 * for not accepting fault and showing wrong attitude to customer. I used to thought bishop always get trained staff but I was wrong. read more

FINALLY I found my forever hair salon I easily made an online appointment for Saturday November 14th. A few days before, I was reminded via email & text (much appreciated) When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by 3 stylists and the usual Covid-19 screening was done. Immediately I was seated by my stylist, Linda. Linda has a super sweet & calming personality. I felt completely comfortable before she even started. Linda offered me lots of drink options and throughout my visit I was asked by other stylists if I need anything and is everything good. My hair was a complete mess. Linda and another stylist patiently consulted with me exactly what I wanted. Linda worked with me attentively and professionally for 4 hours to get my hair perfect. She left me alone for 20 minutes total in 4 hours. Honestly, I felt like I was at a 5-star spa the entire time! My hair looks the best ever. The time went super fast because I was so relaxed. The decor is stunning. The equipment is state-of-the-art. The cleanliness is immaculate. I'm a super observant lady and I was watching the staff clean non-stop. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I would recommend all the stylists there. I saw that Bishops only employs very high quality people (both professional with excellent client skills) I am so excited to return but won't have to for a while because my hair is so stunningly beautiful. The prices are absolutely reasonable. FINALLY Thanks to Bishops ~ I can relax and know that my hair will ALWAYS look gorgeous!! Grateful*************************** read more

I came in for my first color session ever in my life and Carlos blew away my expectations. I highly recommend that you ask for Carlos when you come in. He takes his work seriously and has a hilarious sense of humor, which made the process fly by. The entire process took about 4 hours total with 3 bleaching sessions required (including a final round with the heat lamp) to take my hair from brown to platinum blonde. The cost was $85 per hour (excluding tip), but I was only charged for the 2.5 hours of "hands-on time". Carlos started off with a few questions about what I was looking for in the color, provided expectations around the process, and was able to answer any questions that came up. Next was roughly 1 hour intervals of applying the bleach, hanging out for 45 minutes while it did its thing, and then Carlos assessing whether to another round was needed. After the 3rd session, he washed the bleach out and added toner. I'm stoked about the results and will definitely be coming back to Carlos! read more

I'm new to the area and kept trying to find a salon that was available and affordable for a wash, cut & style. It had been a year since my last cut and my hair was dry, lifeless and had tons of split ends. I stumbled upon Bishops and was lucky enough to get Carlos. It was $35 for a cut, $5 for a wash and $15 for a style. They even offer you beer or wine!Carlos was new to the salon but had 16 years of experience. I could tell I was in good hand right away. He asked what I was looking for and also made suggestions for my hair type. He was very friendly, thorough and efficient. After he styled my hair, he also made additional trims to seal the split ends without affecting the length. It looks so much better, I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be requesting Carlos for my next cut and I won't be waiting a year this time! read more

I've been going to Bishops in Irvine (Sand Canyon Plaza) for the last few months and I could not be happier. The vibe inside is modern with some flavors of 90s nostalgia thrown in (arcade game & pop culture collages SEND ME BACK). Daniel at the front desk is sweet, personable and always offers my partner and I good brews while we wait for our appointment. I am pretty protective over my hair and usually worried about whether or not stylists are able to provide modern cuts. Emily consistently gives me exactly what I look for and always knows exactly what I am trying to describe. Not only is Emily skilled in her cuts, she is so fun, professional and just an overall-incredible person to be around. 5 stars for her. 5 starts for the environment. Overall, Bishops provides the substance and style I've been searching for and with the reasonable prices, I will certainly be coming back for as long as I live in this area. I've seriously tried so many different places in Irvine/Laguna areas....If you need it done right, just go to Bishops. read more

Go see Megan, Megan, Megan! I have my barber that I see every week and I've been with him for multiple years. He's on vacation and I needed a haircut - it was an emergency. I called multiple shops and I just did not hear the confidence of the person on the other line with being able to cut my hair without clippers but only using scissors. So I called a few more places and I found Bishops. The receptionist was so great, answered my questions and referred me to someone that they felt would be confident with cutting my short hair with scissors and not with clippers. I came in and they offered me something to drink and got me set up with Megan right away. Megan asked me exactly what I was looking for and was super patient! She used scissors to cut my hair and even washed my hair after to ensure that I don't have small hairs on my face or my neck. Again, Megan is someone you must see if you like someone who is patient, knows what the heck they are doing, and just love a place where the vibes are on point! Back to my meeting! read more
