My senior dog has been going to Biscuits and Bows for few years now. His haircuts have always been less than desirable, but I never minded as long as he was safe and happy because hair grows. Today, my dog came home with dried blood on his paw and two warts opened up. The groomer, Denice said that happened from irritating his wart while holding it. The owner, Karen was very argumentative and defensive. My senior dog was abused before I had him. I told them ahead of time he had cysts, warts, and is mostly blind. My dog has been going there for years and they never mentioned that he was difficult to groom. While I understand that with age dogs may change, the groomer told me he was like this the last time too. I feel like that should have been mentioned to me. I feel like as professionals they should have apologized profusely, made me aware, offer to have a vet look at it, give me a refund, say I can come and sit with him next time, etc. Instead, I was argued with, repeatedly told it was not an injury, but an irritation. My dog was bleeding. Blood is an injury to me. Frankly, I don't care if he was not cut, he was still hurt. I felt very disrespected and uncomfortable speaking to the owner and the groomer. Through some argument, the owner did give me a full refund, but responded by saying, "a refund is all you wanted." What I wanted was compassion, safety, care, empathy, respect, and kindness. I will NEVER go here again. I suggest you don't either.

Our Aussie went in for a grooming appointment this week and I was so impressed! They knew exactly who he was even though it was his first time and were so knowledgeable on Aussie cuts and asked about our preferences. His cut was amazing and he had such a good time! Such sweet people - we will definitely be going back again! I love that he can stay and play while getting groomed. They did ask us for all of his documents which I thought was wonderful and showed they are committed to keeping their dogs safe and taken care of. They made it super easy to email over PDFs of his health documents.

Great place to take your dog to be groomed. People are friendly. Ask for Lynn. She did a great job on "Charlie" giving him a puppy cut.

I've been sending my basset hound, Eeyore, to Biscuits and Bows since he was a puppy for the doggie daycare.

The smell upon entering was not wet dog but more like sewage, very unpleasant, as I moved towards the wash stations the smell faded The wash station was dirty, hair still in the tub from the previous user Very watery shampoo (no labels to know what you're actually using) I suppose they dilute it so it lathers more quickly, but if I returned I'd bring my own. Water pressure is great, but water temperature never really got warm. The towels are quite raggedy & not absorbent. The blow dry was miserable between all the fur on the unswept floor blowing around, & not having a place to put my pet while drying. $24/per hour is increased from the $20 I was told by another customer but again I tried to call to inquire on pricing & products and got no answer.

They give you a little shower with hose, a blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, a towel, and a few treats. For $20 this was perfect. I wish I had taken some pictures, because it was the perfect setup! I walked in without an appointment and got right in. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The girls working at DD were friendly and helpful. I'll be back. Highly recommended!

Andrea is a phenomenal groomer who will not only groom your dog as asked, but treats your dog as if they were her own. Many times she has caught health issues that my vet couldn't find. There is never any judgment, just honest communication so you can address things if necessary. Down to the tiny bumps and lumps that most dog owners miss. If you have never groomed your dog yourself, you will never truly be able to understand the dedication, awareness and communication that is required to do this job. As someone who has attempted to groom my own dogs, the respect for Andrea is immense. If you love your dogs and consider them members of your family, Andrea is the groomer for you. There is personally not a single negative thing I could say about her (coming from a service based small business owner). Just book your appointment and you will see why she is the best in the area!

I would not recommend the training services here. I brought my dog in for a week long board and…read moretrain (she was a foster fail, and I wanted her to learn basic obedience). For some context, my dog was found in a forest preserve as a young dog and so she had very little socialization with humans. She was awkward around my friends and family but would quickly warm up and play with them. When I went to pick her up at the end of the week, I did the hour-long session with Mike, and the whole time I noticed she was cowering every time he would raise his hand or go near her. This was not the goofy, happy dog I brought it. When I brought her home, I didn't notice anything unusual, and I had some friends come over about a week later. My dog, who had met all these people multiple times, was growling and visibly stressed to the point that she nipped my best friend, thankfully no skin was broke but we were both shocked. Prior to this incident, she had never nipped anyone or even gotten mouthy during playtime. When I called Jen about this incident, she brushed it off as my dog "testing boundaries". I received no support or advice on how to handle this situation. Since then, she has become more untrusting of humans (other than me) to the point where I can't have people come over because of her fear reactivity. I'm now working with a behaviorist to work on these issues and get her to a place of being more comfortable around people. I always look back and think that if I hadn't sent her there, she would be a very different dog now. **I'd like to note that I've since taken her to a daycare/boarding facility that she absolutely loves, and everyone there loves her. I'd taken her there once prior to this board and train, and it is now my go to place for her whenever I'm out of town. They were shocked when I told them about her reactivity, as they've never seen her express those behaviors and she's extremely well taken care of.

I understand these are big dogs that can play aggressively so things happen but just be straightforward with us. I need to tell the vet when it happened.
