Since having to eat strictly gluten free, I find enjoyment in finding special places like Biscuit Daddies that not only understands things like cross-contamination, but offers a one to one option for their entire menu to include gluten free guests. Biscuit Daddies specializes in biscuits (obviously), and makes a delicious, light and fluffy gluten free biscuit that tastes just like a regular biscuit! They offer breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, and even a biscuit that tastes almost exactly like a cinnamon roll! I enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich one morning and "the hangover helper" the second morning (which is a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit topped with their gluten free gravy and a side of hash brown casserole). Both were very tasty! We also tried their cinnamon roll biscuit (ask them to warm it up) and it was delicious! It was worth making just a little extra room to try. We chatted with the owner who was very friendly and passionate about finding a gluten free customer base. He shared several of his recipes (such as the casserole) have become 100% gluten free, as the taste was so indistinguishable from the original recipe. The food was AMAZING! The owner was there and he came to talk to us! Definitely one of our favorite places now. EVERYTHING CAN BE MADE GLUTEN FREE and it's melt in your mouth kinda good!!!! I couldn't even finish my biscuit till later in the day. Still very good! My husband took a bite of my gf gravy and was amazed how good it was. The gravy had lots of sausage in it! So first of all, it is difficult to find. Look for the sign that says "NuHealth Cafe". When I found it I walked in and asked for their most popular dish and they said it's The Hangover Helper so I ordered that but I substituted sausage for the bacon. The interior is very clean and nicely appointed with a large beautiful chandelier. It's pretty narrow and the place was about 2/3rds full when I got here at 12:45 on a Saturday. The drink selection is very limited with the soft drink options being just 4 varieties of Coke cans in a cooler. They also have coffee, tea, OJ and water. I was a bit irritated that their prices are higher than what is displayed on the large board behind the counter (see photo). They could warn you that their most popular dish is actually $15 and the board still says it's $13. That is a very poor business practice and I'm sure that it will upset people. The employee that I spoke to said "we are getting that replaced". The service is extremely slow. It took over 35 minutes to get my biscuit. When my plate finally arrived the hash brown casserole was hot and delicious but the biscuit and gravy was room temp. The biscuit was fluffy and soft. I prefer more dense and crispy on the outside. I give the Food a solid 4 stars and 2 stars for everything else so 3 stars overall. read more

Rolled in with a crew of six while visiting Lexington, and wow... what a find. I went for the Big Blue Hot Brown (because, when in Kentucky), and my friends basically treated the menu like a sampler platter. Zero regrets. The biscuits and gravy? Fluffy little clouds holding up a thick, rich sausage gravy that didn't nuke your mouth with pepper like some spots do. Absolute perfection. And the coffee? Smooth, medium-full bodied, not bitter, not burnt, basically everything you wish your morning cup was. Pair that with a charming as hell owner who clearly cares, and you've got yourself a winning combo. I don't throw out 5 stars often, but this place earned it. So fans, It has been a minute since my last review but I only post when I have something to tell you and boy do I have something to tell you. I may be late to the party, because this establishment which was literally started and is even now ran by a two guys who love to eat - and one of them who is a great cook! Biscuit Daddies in downtown Lexington, Ky, delivered through Door Dash which is how I found them. Hubby ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of hash brown casserole. I chose the veggie omelette that comes with a side buscuit. Let me tell you, the veggie omelette is right up there with the top three omelettes I have ever had and I am an omelette officiant. And don't let the fact that it is veggie only deter you. You will find nothing lacking in this one. Delicious is the only way to describe it. And can I just say-- thank you, Biscuit Daddies for knowing that to be delicious, food needs seasoning and some fat. This one is a winner for sure. And do we need to talk about the hash brown casserole. No we don't but we will. As has been said by others-- order this. You won't be sorry. The plain biscuit was pretty good-- but I am particular about my biscuits as my mountain mama made the best ever. These are good but they are a bit too dense for my liking. If you appreciate thick crumb you will like these. The gravy has plenty of sausage and is of course creamy. It's not mama's but it is good. Biscuit Daddies! To try it is to love it. A bit pricy but for the flavor it is worth it. (30.00 plus for an omelette, half biscuits and gravy and a side of hash brown casserole on Door Dash that up charges as we know). It's over on Virginia Ave. in a small strip center by UK campus and for the money I can't believe this place wasn't packed with students yet. We enjoyed the Hangover Special and the Big Blue Hot Brown, both were hearty and delicious! The sausage gravy is perfect and of course the biscuits were fluffy and oven fresh. Don't sleep on the Cheesy Hash Browns, you'll throw rocks at Cracker Barrel. We were warmly greeted by the owner who prepared our meals with love and enthusiasm! My partner and best friend both have celiac and it's so amazing that a local small business offers gluten free options, AND they are incredibly delicious!!! Both the gluten free and regular biscuits were super fluffy. Would love to see more vegetarian biscuit options available and maybe a partnership with a local coffee shop or locally brewed coffee- we love City Roastery! Placed an order last night for this morning. 6 blueberry lemon and 6 bacon egg and cheese. We've had the blueberry lemon before and the frosting is the best I have ever tasted.
