    Baby just born

Words truly aren't enough to describe how amazing Doula Kristin was for me and my family. This was my first time delivering with a doula, and she made the entire process feel comfortable and supported from day one. She's flexible with insurance, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I had a previous pregnancy with cholestasis and wanted this birth to be natural -- no epidural, no IV, and time to advocate for myself and delay induction. Kristin honored every one of my wishes and supported me through all the moments when I felt scared or unsure. She reassured me, encouraged me, and helped me trust my instincts. She stayed with me for my whole labor and delivery, helping me breathe, stay focused, and stay grounded through an intense but beautiful birth experience. Her calm and loving presence made me feel completely safe. She also preserved my placenta and made beautiful capsules, which I appreciated so much. Kristin is deeply compassionate, highly educated, and genuinely gifted at what she does. I would absolutely work with her again. If you want a holistic, knowledgeable, heart-centered doula, she's the one.

Kristen was truly amazing, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the role she played in my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From the very beginning, it felt meant to be we had so much in common, from coming from the same hometown and living in Orange County, to sharing a very similar outlook on birth and holistic care. We both believe in doing what is best for the body, honoring the natural process, and approaching birth in a grounded, informed, and intuitive way. From our initial meet-and-greet over coffee, Kristen was warm, down to earth, kind, and incredibly easy to connect with. She provided childbirth education that I found genuinely helpful and empowering, and she always made space for my questions, values, and preferences without judgment. When it came time for my birth, I was already very far along, and things progressed quickly. What stood out most was Kristen's advocacy and calm presence once she arrived. From that moment on, I felt heard, supported, and respected in a way that completely changed my experience. She helped guide me through intense contractions, encouraged me when I was exhausted, and reminded everyone involved that there is a difference between simply managing a situation and truly supporting a laboring mother. Her voice made a difference. I truly believe that without Kristen there, my wishes would not have been fully respected. Her presence shifted the entire energy of the room, what felt overwhelming and dismissive suddenly became collaborative and supportive. She advocated for me when I couldn't, and even when my partner and I felt unheard, she ensured my voice mattered. Because of her, my birth experience transformed from something incredibly difficult into something empowering and positive. Kristen stayed with me through the birth, offered constant reassurance, and brought such grounding energy when I needed it most. She also captured beautiful photos during labor and birth, moments I would not have had documented otherwise, and I am so incredibly grateful for those memories. Postpartum, her care didn't stop. She checked in on me, brought a nourishing home-cooked meal (including fresh sourdough bread), and continued to show genuine kindness and support during my recovery. She truly embodies what postpartum care should look like. I honestly cannot imagine ever giving birth without a doula again. Kristen is the kind of advocate every birthing person deserves, especially in a hospital setting. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, steady, and deeply respectful of the birthing mother. I would recommend her to anyone, even those who think they don't "need" a doula. My experience went from a 0 out of 10 to a 10 out of 10 because of her. Kristen is not only an incredible doula but a truly wonderful human being. I am endlessly thankful for her and would recommend her wholeheartedly. Birth has its own wisdom, and sometimes it speaks louder than our plans. While my birth did not unfold exactly as I envisioned, it became the birth that was meant for me one that taught me trust, surrender, and a deeper strength than I knew I had.

I had a very traumatic first birth back in March 2023. When I became pregnant with our second, I knew I wanted a doula. I was recommended to Kristin and my husband and I did a meet and greet with her. We left being so excited that we found who was going to go through this process with us. From when we decided to partner with Kristin, she was so helpful with everything from birth education down to helping me get my baby flip at 37 weeks pregnant. I know if it wasn't for Kristin I would have 100% had to have gotten a c section. When I went into labor, I was able to labor at home just like I wanted. When we finally decided to go to the hospital at 2 am, Kristin was the first one there. She was there for me my entire labor and I truly had the most amazing birth experience. I was very nervous overall as it got closer to actually pushing and she did such a good job at keeping me informed and letting me know I was in control and everything was normal. I now, no longer fear birth and would do it again a million times over, thanks to Kristin.

Hi! Just wanted to share the great experience I had with Kristin. I highly recommend having her as your next birth doula. I just gave birth to my second son about a month ago and I was very lucky to have found Kristin and go through the entire process of having her assist me and my husband during this recent pregnancy. Fortunately, we were able to have a midwife also and deliver at a birthing center and give birth in a water tub just as I had always hoped for. I truly believe God aligned all the right people to be on my birth team. It was truly a memorable and smooth labor and delivery. I appreciated all the tips and resources that Kristin provided. She was really easy and fun to work with. I love how quickly we warmed up to each other even in our first phone call and zoom calls. I knew when we met face to face it was a perfect match. It was like making an instant bestie. She has a graceful spirit, warm smile, and you can really tell she is passionate & loves her job. She really offered all the right encouragement and support any mama to be would be needing and gave just the right amount of space for the dad to be present and involved during the whole process of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. I'm very thankful of how she advocates for the mama in the most gentle and sweetest way but also offers good advice and suggestions if need be. The day of my labor & delivery, I knew contractions were starting to happen and kept progressing more but I was still a little bit unsure. So, I texted her throughout the day seeing what to do next and she held space for me to feel safe and trust my body & intuition up till the very last moments. Everything happened so fast but I knew that without Kristin and my Midwife to guide me that night that it wouldn't have transitioned so perfectly quick, smooth, and even less pain than my previous birth. I'm so glad I listened to her when she suggested to call my midwife and head over to the birthing center when I did, because if I hadn't then I may have delivered at home or in the car. The timing was impeccable. I really valued her presence during that precious time. She even made me a sweet art/gift with my baby's umbilical cord & placenta, which I cherish. She truly made the whole process easy and stress free. Absolutely recommend hiring Kristin even if you don't think you may need one. If your insurance covers it then there's nothing to lose but so much to gain. Last but not least, I think the best part of having a doula was the counter pressure, massages, and words of strength and power that Kristin offered whilst I was having each contraction. It made such a difference having her there which helped me breathe through & ride those painful waves with ease and relief. May God continue to bless Kristin and all the Doulas out there that offer their time, share their care, & services to all the expectant mothers. It truly is a blessing from up above! Hope this helps give a little insight. Sending love to everyone! Take care!

**if you don't want to read the whole thing, the biggest takeaway is you NEED Kristin/Sasha!!** My pregnancy was really difficult, I was diagnosed with hyperemisis gravidarum, which is basically severe nausea and vomiting. I was really sad cause I was sick all the time and this just wasn't the experience I wanted to have with pregnancy. I was desperate to turn around my experience and make it positive so I thought a doula would be a great start. Kristin and Sasha changed my entire experience. They checked on me all the time, gave me great tips for helping control or at least manage my nausea, and were there to listen to me vent when I needed to. Meeting with them before my birth was extremely helpful, especially with this being my first pregnancy, I didn't know what to expect when it came to birth so their insight was so valuable. They taught me/my husband how to navigate early labor, and they spent hours just listening to what my ideal birth would be. NOW, when it came to the birth, in typical fashion things didn't go as had planned, but Kristin and Sasha were there and it made all the difference. They helped me navigate the pain as it came, supported me through massage, hand holding, and words of encouragement, I honestly felt so loved and cared for by them the entire time. They were a great help to my husband as well helping him how to help me. When the baby finally arrived I could feel their emotion because they truly went through this whole pregnancy with me, so it was special for all of us! Post birth, they checked on me a ton, visited, and listened/made me feel sane when I was venting all my new mommy emotions to them. Sasha was a huge help in the breast feeding department because that was a big struggle, and her knowledge is something you just don't get from the hospital staff. They truly truly care and honestly feel like family to me now. You absolutely won't regret making them apart of your pregnancy/birth team. I would recommend them to anyone!

Kristin was amazing!!! I met with Kristin when I was 16 weeks pregnant and my first pregnancy. I didn't know what to expect and wanted guidance and someone experienced to help me during this journey. Kristin explained the birthing process from labor to delivery. She helped me write up my birthing plan and also did placenta encapsulations for me. She walked me through breathing techniques and she was very positive throughout my whole pregnancy. She was very attentive to my needs. I really can't imagine a birthing experience without having her as part of my journey. I'm so glad she was with me during this whole process and after delivery Kristin visited and would send positive messages. She is highly experienced and offered a lot of guidance and techniques to use.

Nothing was consistent, and I was terrified I was just making him hate the bottle even more. That's when we reached out to Julie and honestly it was the best decision. She gave us specific exercises to work on and helped us go slow and rebuild positive associations. She was also just a text away whenever we ran into issues, which made me feel supported and confident that we were doing the right things. I would send her a video if things weren't going well and she would be able to advise on way to tweak to help him accept the bottle. After 3 sessions, baby was finally opening his mouth readily when presented with the bottle, something we never thought possible! Fast forward -- my baby is now 6.5 months old and happily takes five bottles a day at the sitter while still breastfeeding at home. He switches between the two so easily now. It has been such a huge relief, and the progress has been incredible. It was absolutely worth it, and I highly recommend her to any parent struggling with bottle refusal or feeding transitions!

Till this day I have not received any sort of receipt for the "services" provided. Adding to my feelings of being ignored, since she got what she wanted the payment of $2,800 dollars.

This review truly breaks my heart to write. When I get pregnant with my second child and I…read morecontacted Marisol right away to book her as my Doula. I was so excited to finally meet her in person and I signed the contract right away. I immediately sent over my deposit and I requested that she provide me with a receipt for the deposit . The fact that she was initially declining my request for a receipt because she wanted to wait until after the baby was born was probably the first sign that trouble was coming. I went back-and-forth with her and asked to get my receipt for the money that I had already paid so that I could use that receipt for a reimbursement with my flexible spending account. She still refused to give me the receipt so I reached out to my flexible spending company and asked them if I had to wait for the baby to be born in order to be reimbursed and they said no. Finally, Marisol agreed to give me a receipt for my deposit. I found this quite odd since people generally get a receipt when money exchanges hands. My husband and I meet with Marisol around 36 weeks to go over the birth plan. I tell her that my plan is to have her help me labor at home as much as possible since I wanted to reduce the likelihood of medical interventions. I also asked they she capture some photos for us. Marisol explained that we should not contact her right away if labor starts in the middle of the night, only call when ready. She kept stressing this point and even emailed me a document that says to only call when we are ready for her to come. A couple of weeks later I go into labor late one night. My labor progressed quickly and we called Marisol when we wanted her to come over, no answer. I then texted her. A short time later I told her we were headed to the hospital. Labor pains got so intense that I was not able to monitor my phone so my husband and Marisol were texting. Labor pains were so intense so I requested an epidural at the hospital. Once Marisol got this information , she assumed she had more time. I guess she didn't take into account that that epidural was not completed. Long story short, she didn't make her way to the hospital until after the kid was born. Per her contract, she had 90 minutes to get to me. My labor was quick but she had a 3 hour heads up. I was actually disappointed that she came to the hospital because now it feels like a random acquaintance just showed up for one of the biggest days of your life and now you have to entertain them. She stayed with us until we got transferred to our postpartum room. At this point, Marisol was not a part of my birth story at all and I was angry. A couple days later I immediately requested a partial refund. She denied my request saying she was "available." Instead she offered me one additional 3 hour postpartum visit. I didn't accept that and said we could discuss this matter when she did her postpartum visit. During the visit, Marisol said she could tell that I "felt some type of way" and she asked me to share my feelings. I told her I felt cheated, I'm out a lot of money and she didn't have to do anything. It was her choice to not come to me right away, I followed all of her instructions. Marisol then told me she was actually on her way to me but she needed time to shower, clean her doula supplies and pack her doula bag. Once she heard about the epidural, she returned home to pack snacks. This information infuriated me....she missed my birth for this?!?! This is an area where you don't get a do over. I would imagine that with the nature of this job you would always have your supplies clean and ready. She ended up offering me 12 postpartum hours. I told her that was not what I wanted since I didn't want to think of things for her to help me with. In plus, it's easy to get help during the day. I ended up requesting my money back and threatening legal action since she breached her own contract. In the end she agreed to return 1/2 of my money ($1400) and I was able to avoid legal action. (I didn't mind taking legal action, this was an open and shut case according to the guidance I received). I'd say she still came out ahead, $1400 for 2 short visits to my house and a short 45 minute visit to the hospital after my kid was born. I am beyond bummed about this experience. So yes, I still "feel some type of way!" I'm not sure how you could say you were available yet you missed the birth. And I still can't comprehend the rationale. I'm so confused.

Birth is such an intimate, raw, and expansive experience, and Katie was the perfect support in creating a birth experience we will remember with positivity and light forever.

That's when I reached out to Linda, and I'm so grateful I did. She took the time to thoroughly assess our baby and quickly identified a lip, tongue, and cheek tie--something we hadn't realized. Thanks to Linda's expert advice, encouragement, and reassurance, I was able to continue breastfeeding successfully. I'm proud to say I exclusively breastfed for a full year, and now begins the emotional journey of weaning. I truly could not have done it without her. I will absolutely reach out to her again when the time comes for future children, and I recommend her wholeheartedly to family and friends. She was an essential part of our journey.

If you're stuck between two lactation consultants, LINDA IS IT. I had bad postpartum depression and I can't even put into words how much Linda helped throughout our time together. I Will continue to stay in touch with her throughout my motherhood journey. What a blessing to have met her.
