Cass was my doula for the birth of my second son, born just two weeks ago. Because of her, my labor was everything I could have wanted. It was beautiful, peaceful and full of love. She made me feel confident and in control. I couldn't imagine our story without her. She has also saved my breastfeeding relationship with both my 2 year old and newborn, as they were both lip/tongue tied. I've now been nursing my oldest for 2 1/2 years, even through pregnancy, and now nursing both he and my newborn. It would not have been possible without her. Her knowledge, experience and compassion are unmeasurable. read more

Cass is the matriarch of all things breastfeeding. She is highly experienced in resolving all sorts of problem you can possibly encounter and she has extensive knowledge in everything lactation-related. As a FTM I would not know how to correctly feed my baby AND not murder myself at the same time without her help. She checked both me and baby thoroughly, attended to all the little details, answered all my clueless questions and taught me what exactly I need to do to quickly build a solid and comfortable breastfeeding relationship with my baby. People say breastfeeding = pain and Cass will show you how it is a lie. She is devoted in helping moms everywhere to achieve healthy, painless breastfeeding & beyond. I highly recommend any mama who experience troubles in breastfeeding to seek her advice. read more

Cass has helped me with breastfeeding for both of my kids. With my first, he did not latch well at all. He was losing weight, jaundiced and I was so depressed. Cass came over (recommended by my doula Mandi at Peachy Keen Birth Services), observed and helped so much! Fast forward to now, 18 months later and with my newborn daughter had a great latch but it hurt like hell. I texted Cass when my daughter was 4 days old, she asked me to send her a photo of her lip and of course she had a lip tie. She called me right away and explained to me why it was hurting so much and told me to call Dr Jesse or Dr Fuller first thing Monday morning (It was Saturday). I texted her the whole weekend because my milk started coming in, my daughter wasnt draining me fully and I was miserable! We went to Dr Jesse first thing Monday morning and I have a new baby! I recommend Cass to everyone I know. Talking to her has given me a new sense of appreciation for nursing. Because of her, everytime I talk to a friend who is struggling with nursing I urge them to talk to a certified LC instead of just asking the ones at the hospital. Thanks so much Cass, both my kids appreciate it too! read more

Cass is Amazing!!! She has been SO helpful, available & filled with tremendous knowledge about all things related to breast feeding and then some. My newborn & I have benefited greatly from her services! I am forever grateful to her for all the valuable information she has shared & would confidently recommend her services to any new mom! read more

Cass' knowledge, experience, and compassion are unmatched. I saw 4 IBCLCS, 5 pediatricians, several lactation consultants, and countless nurses "trained in breastfeeding" before Cass, but she was the only one who was able to actually identify the problem to help me - and she did it for FREE! Despite being incredibly busy she is the only IBCLC who provides unlimited call/text support 24/7. I still asked her to come for a paid home visit, but not only was she FAR more knowledgeable and helpful than the other professionals I visited, she's the most affordable. I had extreme pain, blisters, cracks, bleeding and thrush. I had already learned about tongue/lip tie revision and we were 1 month post lip tie revision and still having problems. I went to the pediatrician, urgent care, the Kaiser lactation consultants, and my own general practitioner. I visited other IBCLCS and had been taking APNO, following Dr Newman's thrush and vasospasm protocol, but nothing was working. From her years of experience (14+ years as La Leche League leader, breastfeeding her own 6 children, IBCLC education, extensive additional research, and helping thousands of woman), Cass was able to identify immediately that I had thrush (Peds & GP said no), I did not have vasospasms (other IBCLCS thought I did), she corrected the thrush protocol I was doing, recommended chiropractic work for my daughter's birth trauma, and set me straight on so much misinformation I had received from professionals. How do I know that she was right and all the other health professionals were wrong? HER ADVICE ACTUALLY WORKED! I was even skeptical afterwards, suspecting that my daughter still had a tongue tie, so I went to a dentist trained by Dr. Ghaheri, and that dentist just confirmed what Cass had said. If you're looking at IBCLC reviews then likely you're dealing with breastfeeding problems and have read about tongue/lip ties, thrush, etc. online, so you know there is conflicting information everywhere. GO TO CASS! Truly, she is the one with the correct information, the experience, and she's not biased by money because she's the most affordable and helps SO many women for free via text and her Facebook group. I have 3 older sisters with babies, tons of mom friends, a lot of health professional support, and yet I trust this complete stranger (Cass) the most now. Thank you Cass! read more

Cass is a very competent and passionate IBCLC. She truly has the mother and babies best interest in mind. I have known her for years, and frequently refer clients to her who are struggling with breastfeeding. She is very available, which is vital when a mom/baby are trying very hard to establish a strong nursing relationship. She is also a mom of 6 boys and is very experienced in breastfeeding herself. Her compassion and willingness to help so many mothers is exemplified in all that she does. If you are needing support along your breastfeeding journey, you will be happy you reached out to Cass. Thanks for all you do, Cass! read more

My husband and I were sold on exclusive breast feeding, however after 3 weeks I was still having a lot of pain. My pediatrician wasn't really helpful and I was really wondering if I could keep going. I reached out to Cass based on our Doula recommendation. She has a very reasonable rate and comes to your house to really evaluate the problem. My husband and I were really impressed by her knowledge and ability to quickly diagnose issues. In addition she has great connections to refer you to afterwards. And an added bonus is that she is really sweet and a total baby whisperer! It turns out that our daughter was both tongue and lip tied. We are going to do the simple procedure to fix her and are looking forward to smooth sailing. If you are having any trouble, I highly recommend giving Cass a call. Thanks so much Cass! read more

I'm not too sure where to begin exactly... I guess the fact that she picked up my husband's call is a great start. Cass was so in tune with what we were experiencing and decided it was necessary for her to come the same day. Within hours she had made her way to our home and we were so delighted by her expertise! She knew right away what the issue was, our son was lip tied! He had a severe case and because of her outstanding reputation she was able to recommend an exclusive Dentist who could perform a procedure for us first thing in the morning. Having taken the appointment, our son is now saved forever! And we have made a miraculous improvement in exclusively breastfeeding, he was no longer supplementing the same day!! Thank you Cass, your services are valued beyond belief. We love you, your philosophies, and gentle but direct, knowledgeable approach! We will highly recommend you to anyone! read more

I was refered to Cass by a friend from work prior to the birth of my son. I dont know why I assumed breastfeeding would be a cake walk and that it would just be easy and come easily. BOY WAS I WRONG!! 2 weeks after my son's birth I was re-thinking how it wasn't as easy as people made it seem and it was definately not the "cake walk" I had originally thought it to be. With some poor information given at the hospital where my son was delivered I went home being supplemented with formula. Something I had not wanted but the told me I wasnt producing enough and that I would need to do this until my milk came in. Being a FTM I foolishly fell into the formula trap. I struggled with feeding him both breast and formula for about 4 days after leaving the hospital before my milk "came in." I threw out the formula and started giving him strictly breast. I thought "Great! Now I can get my son on track." Well that didnt happen he was crying for hours on end with horrible gas and mucousy stools. I took him the Dr. Where they told me he had "colic" and prescribed me gas drops. So I started giving them to him. However, 2 weeks in my son had no relief and was screaming in pain for hours. I felt like a horrible Mother. My stupid self should had called Cass to begin with... I emailed Cass and told her my situation and what had been going on . She kindly replied and asked me to send her pics of my sons mouth so I did. She quickly got back to me and told me my son had some pretty bad lip and tongue ties. She refered me to Dr. Jesse and I was there that Friday getting them revised. I met with Cass shortly after that via skype she answered all my queations and gave me tips and advice on how to breastfeed and what I needed to do and how to do it. I should have contacted Cass from the beginning because everyday since my meeting with Cass my son is making improvments. Cass is a beautiful person who really knows whats she is talking about. If you are having trouble breastfeeding she is your gal. She also offers Doula services as well but my review is soley based on the LCing . Although, I wish I would have known about Cass while i was pregnant so I could have had her as my Doula for my sons birth. Anyway, I know my review is long but if you are reading this know Cass is amazing she will help you and get you through whatever you are going through. Thank you Cass for being so amazing!! read more

I wrote earlier that Cass is the sole reason I've been able to breastfeed my son. I can now say that she's the sole reason I'm able to KEEP breastfeeding my son. At his 4.5 month mark, he became a "snacker" and a very distracted eater, always popping on and off, barely feeding for 1-2 minutes at a time. I got panicked, being a FTM, and after trying to sort thru it on my own, I called Cass to have her come over for a follow up visit. She remains as helpful, professional, and knowledgeable as always. I think, most importantly, she inspired confidence in me that helped me continue nursing despite my current challenge. I'm so thankful for all her help; I can't recommend her enough. If you're a nursing mom, or a mom who wants to nurse, you will not regret spending money for Cass's services. read more

Cass is a wonderful and caring person. Always willing to help any mom with any issues. I have been attending her monthly lactation meetings and its always a full house. She gives great advice and always on point. She diagnosed both my kids with lip and tongue ties and referred us to a great specialist and helped me even after the procedure to keep him breastfeeding. She is very helpful in person, over the phone and online as well. Very easy to reach and get a hold of her. Have referred her to any mom I know that has any issues and has helped all of them. Thanks Cass you have have been a great help! read more

Cass is amazing. Like I could cry at how happy I am with her services. I felt like a failure at breastfeeding (thank you, unhelpful doctors) and so I called Cass in a last ditch attempt to get some perspective. What I found was amazing. I WAS NOT doing anything wrong. Baby just needed a little lil fix. Our doctor refused to check for a lip tie, insisting it wasn't the problem. But lo and behold, 3 weeks after getting it fixed, baby girl put on 1.5 more pounds. Cass was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. My mama freak outs were nothing she couldn't handle. Be sure to book her if you're looking for help! read more

Cass has been an invaluable resource to me. As a first time mom, I have had tons of questions and breastfeeding has been a nightmare...Cass helped diagnose both a lip tie and a nasty case of thrush (which my OB and Ped missed) and our situation has been completely resolved. Also, after attending one of her monthly meetings, I left feeling empowered and confident that I can in fact do this! Cass is wonderful. Full endorsement from my family :-) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Cass. My twin sons were born 8 weeks premature and spent 7 weeks in the NICU. The "lovely" doctors and nurses at Kaiser hospital were not supportive of breastfeeding my preemies at all. That's where Cass came in and save the day... no, she saved my sons' lives! She gave me the help and support I needed to pump for 7 weeks then to transition my sons from tube feedings, to the bottle feedings that the hospital insisted on, to successful breastfeeding. My boys are almost 2 years old now. They are healthy, strong, and still breastfed on demand. I did it, and I owe so much of that success to Cass. Every new mom needs the help of a skilled and supportive lactation consultant. And Cass is all of those things and more! read more

Cass is an amazing and wonderful soul. On my first phone conversation with her she knew what was wrong with my son without even seeing us. A lip tie! And when she came to see us soon after, not only did she helped with nursing issues but she put my frazzled first time mommy nerves to ease that soon thins will get better and that if I had any fears or issues to contact her. Cass always replied to my texts and phone calls about everything from nursing, breast infections to is it normal for my son to sleep this long. I recommend Cass to all of my mommy friends. Cass puts you to ease with her easy going nature and she makes you feel better after talking with her. Even months later after not talking with her when I text her about weaning she replied back super quick and with enthusiasm that I made it to a year of nursing. She is a cheerleader you want to have in your corner. read more

Cass is a fantastic lactation consultant. I learned about her through my Bradley Method teacher. After my son was born we had Cass do a house call for us because he was having trouble latching and was losing weight pretty quickly. She confirmed that he had a tongue/lip tie and she referred us to a fantastic dentist out in Redlands. We had his ties corrected the next day and he was almost immediately latching better. Cass is also available 24/7 through FB and the phone, which she does for free! Every time I text her with questions she gets back to me right away. I would highly recommend her for anything breastfeeding related! read more

A new year, a new baby. This time I knew exactly what to look for and got her lip tie fixed right away. I texted Cass questions I had about breastfeeding and she replied right away. I was going to have her come over to see how the baby was latching, but then felt confident that I knew what I was doing this time around so I told her so and canceled our home visit. Cass was so happy for me. She is genuinely passionate about what she does and is in this to help other moms breastfeed. She's awesome and I wish there were more people out there with a heart like hers. Thank you, Cass! read more

Cassandra was incredible! Friendly, easy going and resourceful. She went above and beyond her service. Visting our home 24 hours after our baby was born and giving us uninterrupted attention. Cassandra is a wealth of knowledge! I highly recommend Cassandra and would use her service again. I even had the opportunity to visit her support group for nursing moms. What a great environment! Filled with other mommies who are there to share and encourage one another. A huge hug to Cassandra and a sincere "Thank You" for her passion and heart for mommies and babies. Sincerely, A very happy Mommy & Baby read more

Wonderful lady. Very knowledgeable and experienced. I struggled with my first son with latching/tongue and lip ties. I didn't not live near or knew of Cass back then but found my way to getting his ties fixed but my supply had dropped due to not getting diagnosed the first time. With my second son I was more aware of the ties and knew right away his latch was in correct and that he had ties. The doctors, nurses and lactation consultant in the hospital brushed off my suspicions of a tie since it was posterior and less visible to them. Within the first week he had lost so much weight and could not latch correctly so I got his tie released and then he refused to latch but only bottle feed. I was pumping and bottle feeding exclusively. I refused to continue my breastfeeding path this way. I called Cass and she came for a house visit right away and helped me get my son back to breast with a nipple shield. Now I'm transitioning into weening him off the shield but just so happy I was in tears to get him back to nursing. Thank you Cass for all your help and the great resource you are for women out there. read more

Super helpful when my daughter was born with premature feeding needs, and have given great advice all along!

Cass is beyond amazing. She has helped SO many of my childbirth students and doula clients over the years, and every single one has had huge success with breastfeeding. I feel so lucky to have a local professional to turn to when one of my clients needs expert help. read more

Cass is the lady you want on your side when it comes to Breastfeeding. Overall, the start of breastfeeding got off on a good start for me. However I still had Cass come over a couple days after I got home from the hospital to help make sure everything was going off without a hitch. She helped correct a few things that would have become a problem. I did get help in the hospital by a lactation consultation, however Cass was so much more informative, plus she comes to you, where you are most comfortable. She has also helped a few of my friends who were being misinformed, and it has made a huge difference in their experiences. Cass will tell you like it is, no frills, no games. That is what I like most about her. She takes the words hard, difficult, frustrating out Breastfeeding. I have been BF for 7 weeks now and love it. Your body is made to feed your precious baby, so don't let anyone tell you different. If you are really serious about BF and need some help getting on the right track, call the MilkmAID. read more

We had a whirlwind birth involving almost not making it to the birth center followed by my wife hemorrhaging which kind of threw off that "magical" first breastfeeding experience it seems like you have to have in order to nail nursing right from the start. One week later, my daughter had a bad case of Jaundice and we were in basically in panic mode 24 hours a day. We went and saw the pediatrician and he suggested we see a lactation consultant. We called Cass because everyone we had met who knew her raved about her, and I can see why. She came over that day and spent about 2 hours working with my wife on nursing. I was very impressed with her breadth of knowledge on the topic but she went above and beyond the call of duty, hanging out an extra hour or so to help me take and track my daughter's temperature to make sure the Jaundice wasn't getting worse. Cass saw right away that Tabitha had a lip tie, something the midwife and pediatrician had both missed, and recommended an amazing dentist to us to get it revised, explaining that this was keeping her from latching correctly and would make a huge difference. Here we are at 2 months and Tabitha is nursing like a champ. No more nipple shields, no more frustration from either my wife or daughter, and it's magic :) Without Cass I don't think this would have been possible. read more

Cass is amazing! I saw two different lactation consultants while in the hospital after giving birth and left thinking that my baby was nursing properly. By the time I got home my baby would not stop crying and fought me every time I tried to nurse her. After confiding in a friend, she recommended that I call Cass. I am SO glad I did! She came to my home the day after contacting her and had me nursing in no time. Cass is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I love that I'm able to text her with any questions that come up. I just wish I would have known about her before my baby came. Would have saved me a lot of tears and stress! read more

If I hadn't contacted Cass at MilkmAID I probably would have given up on breastfeeding. I was having breast feeding problems within the first few weeks after giving birth. I had a fussy, unhappy baby 24/7. The hospital LC was of no help and wanted me to supplement, which I was apprehensive about. Within 1 hour of meeting with Cass, my son was finally happy and full with no gas! Wow! She truly changed our lives. read more

Cass is THE BEST!! When I got pregnant I knew I wanted to breastfeed exclusively. Unfortunately, we had a rough start and problem after problem for the first 4 months. Fortunately, I was referred to Cass. Cass is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive; she's also sweet and funny. I was feeling like a complete failure in my breastfeeding struggles, but she was very reassuring and helped me find solutions to all of our challenges. Cass comes to your house, checks out baby's mouth and mom, not just the latch. She knows the best local experts for lip- and tongue-tie. Her rates are very reasonable and she'll make as many appointments as you need. Her hours are flexible and she's also available 24/7 by phone or text, which is fantastic! Cass also hosts a monthly breastfeeding meetup which is a great casual environment for all the questions that come up as your baby grows, for feeling more confident about breastfeeding, and for meeting other like-minded mamas and babies. Cass saved our breastfeeding relationship and I can't recommend her enough. Anyone with breastfeeding challenges, or even just questions, should get in touch with this amazing woman! read more

I would highly recommend Cassandra for lactation consulting. She came to my house which was such a relief because my daughter hates the car right now. Cass helped me with my breastfeeding struggles. She diagnosed a lip and tongue tie on my baby which was causing painful nursing sessions. Then she came to my house and helped me get rid of a severe thrush infection that lasted almost 3 months. She also gave me a ton of information to help me through mastitis, plugged ducts and pumping issues when I went back to work. She was supportive the whole time. After going through all of those hurdles, I now have a great breastfeeding experience with my child. Thanks to Cass, I was able to exclusively breastfeed and still going strong. read more

Cass was my doula and as my doula, her services included a postpartum visit with a lactation consultation. Cass is top-notch in everything she does and has a wealth of knowledge to pull from. One of the most helpful things about having her at my daughter's birth was that she realized as soon as my baby opened her mouth that she had a lip tie. I was able to start nursing her with a nipple shield immediately and was able to get the lip tie corrected within the first 3 weeks of my daughter's life and avoid a lot of pain and heartache trying to get my daughter to nurse without that information. I couldn't be more grateful for everything she did for me. read more

Cass is an amazing woman! if it wasn't for her I would probably have given up breast feeding and never finding out that my daughter had a very severe lip and tongue tie causing her to not be able to latch and nurse properly.
