This review truly breaks my heart to write. When I get pregnant with my second child and I contacted Marisol right away to book her as my Doula. I was so excited to finally meet her in person and I signed the contract right away. I immediately sent over my deposit and I requested that she provide me with a receipt for the deposit . The fact that she was initially declining my request for a receipt because she wanted to wait until after the baby was born was probably the first sign that trouble was coming. I went back-and-forth with her and asked to get my receipt for the money that I had already paid so that I could use that receipt for a reimbursement with my flexible spending account. She still refused to give me the receipt so I reached out to my flexible spending company and asked them if I had to wait for the baby to be born in order to be reimbursed and they said no. Finally, Marisol agreed to give me a receipt for my deposit. I found this quite odd since people generally get a receipt when money exchanges hands. My husband and I meet with Marisol around 36 weeks to go over the birth plan. I tell her that my plan is to have her help me labor at home as much as possible since I wanted to reduce the likelihood of medical interventions. I also asked they she capture some photos for us. Marisol explained that we should not contact her right away if labor starts in the middle of the night, only call when ready. She kept stressing this point and even emailed me a document that says to only call when we are ready for her to come. A couple of weeks later I go into labor late one night. My labor progressed quickly and we called Marisol when we wanted her to come over, no answer. I then texted her. A short time later I told her we were headed to the hospital. Labor pains got so intense that I was not able to monitor my phone so my husband and Marisol were texting. Labor pains were so intense so I requested an epidural at the hospital. Once Marisol got this information , she assumed she had more time. I guess she didn't take into account that that epidural was not completed. Long story short, she didn't make her way to the hospital until after the kid was born. Per her contract, she had 90 minutes to get to me. My labor was quick but she had a 3 hour heads up. I was actually disappointed that she came to the hospital because now it feels like a random acquaintance just showed up for one of the biggest days of your life and now you have to entertain them. She stayed with us until we got transferred to our postpartum room. At this point, Marisol was not a part of my birth story at all and I was angry. A couple days later I immediately requested a partial refund. She denied my request saying she was "available." Instead she offered me one additional 3 hour postpartum visit. I didn't accept that and said we could discuss this matter when she did her postpartum visit. During the visit, Marisol said she could tell that I "felt some type of way" and she asked me to share my feelings. I told her I felt cheated, I'm out a lot of money and she didn't have to do anything. It was her choice to not come to me right away, I followed all of her instructions. Marisol then told me she was actually on her way to me but she needed time to shower, clean her doula supplies and pack her doula bag. Once she heard about the epidural, she returned home to pack snacks. This information infuriated me....she missed my birth for this?!?! This is an area where you don't get a do over. I would imagine that with the nature of this job you would always have your supplies clean and ready. She ended up offering me 12 postpartum hours. I told her that was not what I wanted since I didn't want to think of things for her to help me with. In plus, it's easy to get help during the day. I ended up requesting my money back and threatening legal action since she breached her own contract. In the end she agreed to return 1/2 of my money ($1400) and I was able to avoid legal action. (I didn't mind taking legal action, this was an open and shut case according to the guidance I received). I'd say she still came out ahead, $1400 for 2 short visits to my house and a short 45 minute visit to the hospital after my kid was born. I am beyond bummed about this experience. So yes, I still "feel some type of way!" I'm not sure how you could say you were available yet you missed the birth. And I still can't comprehend the rationale. I'm so confused. read more

When I found out I was pregnant I would ask people what was the best advice​ they could give me for when I went into labor. My cousin who had just had her 5th baby all natural and unmedicated recommended told me that she​ and her husband had taken a Bradly Method course before their first child. She said it helped her husband learn how he could best assist her during her labor. Her husband made all the difference in keeping her calm, relaxed, and focused on giving birth. After knowing that I went ahead and enrolled in Marisol's Bradley Method class. At first,​ I thought my husband would be bored learning about this topic, but to my surprise​​,​ he always looked forward to attending class. The group was made up of four couples-so it was all pretty intimate and Marisol made the class really interactive and fun! She uses different methods of teaching-workbook/reading, youtube videos, dolls, visuals, games, and discussion. I am a registered nurse but L&D is not my specialty. I knew this course would be a great way to refresh my knowledge as well as learn new things (and I did!). My husband on the other hand was clueless about the labor process, but by the time we completed Marisol's course, I felt comfortable that my husband was going to be a good coach. When I first saw Marisol, the first thing that came to my mind was "This is a Mexican version of the superhero STORM!" She even has the same super cool white streak of hair. To be honest, at first I was kinda whatever about going. I think a lot of us guys have this initial feeling. I thought, how complicated can having a baby be? Then when my wife told me how long the class would be, I was like whaaaaaaat?! But once everyone breaks the ice, this class becomes very informative and fun. I learned a lot of things that I believe every dad and mom should know. I especially liked that Marisol teaches you what options parents have for having the best possible natural birth, and if it's not going to be a natural birth what you can expect with other options. She has lots of hands on experience and can give you examples and scenarios she has personally experienced, which I liked a lot. Nothing like having a person that has been there and done it. She is very knowledgeable about a lot of different aspects of the pregnant/birthing process, and she gladly answers all questions she is asked...even if it pertains to guys wondering if they can latch the baby to their nipple to sooth the baby if mom is not around to do so! LoL. I would highly recommend this course to any one that is about to experience pregnancy and all of the beautiful moments of the entire process. This review is long overdue as our baby is now 5 months! I cannot say enough about Marisol and how transformative her work, energy and care are. The space she held and created for me while I was going through labor was sacred! It empowered me and my partner to bring this beautiful human into the world without fear and the affirmation that we chose the perfect birth team to help us along in this journey. Marisol was our doula for my June 2022 birth. Found through a Google search in Jan 2022, called her and set an initial interview with her & my husband to see if we would be a good fit for each other Communication: 10/10 She always replied to texts in a timely manner, and answers all random questions Classes: 10/10 We took the 12 week birth rope & lactation class. I will note that 12 weeks is pretty exhausting but it was very thorough. Birth: 10/10 For the moment I texted her in the morning she was always checking in to see how I was progressing, got to hospital very fast. Of course every birth is different and sometimes timing can be wonky but everything worked well for me. My husband and I took the Bradley Method birthing classes with Marisol a few months before our daughter was born. We planned to have a home birth and at the recommendation of our midwife, we signed up for the classes knowing that they would help prepare us for birthing at home. I am so happy to write this 5 star review for Together In Birth. Marisol played a major role in the birth of my son and without her we would not have had the knowledge and confidence to advocate for ourselves not just at the birth but also during pregnancy. My husband and I took Marisol's Bradley Method 12 week childbirth education class and it was worth every second of our time and every penny. This class not only educated us on all things pregnancy and birth, but also taught us how to advocate for ourselves and each other. Taking this class with my husband brought us closer together during my pregnancy. It helped us keep our communication open with each other in what we each were wanting out of this whole experience of pregnancy and childbirth. Because of this class my husband and I were able to confidently walk into our prenatal visits with our list of questions for our care provider. We were able to make time each week to connect with one another as my husband lead me into relaxation techniques we learned in class. Marisol's charismatic personality and passion for her work made each class so much fun and left us excited at the end of each class every week for the next class to come. We also hired Marisol to be our birth Doula. Marisol's calming spirit and maternal side helped support me emotionally during my son's birth which is exactly what I needed and what I was looking for in a Doula. Because we had already spent 3 months in her Bradley class, our Doula prenatal visits went so smoothly. In our prenatal visit Marisol incorporated a beautiful intention setting ceremony. I didn't know how much I needed that until it happened. During this prenatal I set intentions for my birth and for my baby's life. She led me into a meditation where I let go of any fears or concerns. She really helped me prepare mentally, physically, and spiritually. During the birth Marisol and my husband made the best team together. Each by my side at all times providing support in the way I needed them to individually. I'm very stubborn and don't like being told what to do (especially if it's coming from my husband lol), but Marisol had a way of connecting with me in the moment and encouraging me to get into positions that would help me get baby down and out. Immediately after I gave birth Marisol stayed by my side to make sure we were settled. She literally hand fed me as my midwives were tending to me and the baby. She also made sure baby was fed too. I was able to get baby latched on but since Marisol is also a lactation educator and counselor, I asked her if she can check the latch to make sure we were breastfeeding correctly. She assured me we were. Before she left she made sure I had all the snacks and drinks within arms reach. If I did not have Marisol there by my side guiding me and supporting me I think my birth would have turned out very different. If you are looking for an experienced, incredible doula, look no further than marisol! We are so happy to have found Marisol for the birth of our first child. We took the Bradley method class with marisol as well and learned so much about the birthing process and felt so much more prepared. Our original birth plan was a homebirth, but i developed preeclampsia late in my pregnancy and ended up having to transfer to a hospital at 41 weeks for an induction. I was devastated, but i felt so prepared and informed on all things hospital birth as well because of the bradley method class. Birth is so unpredictable and i feel it's critical to know about all birth settings so you are best prepared for whatever happens. Marisol was there to guide me through every step of my transfer which happened quick and i was able to advocate for the type of care i wanted in the hospital. I did have to be induced due to my preclampsia, but marisol guided me through all my options and made me feel empowered in my choices. I was able to labor without pain meds and felt that the positions marisol put me in really helped my baby go down and my total labor was just under 7 hours. I also couldn't get up from the hospital bed because I had to be on magnesium and marisol made sure i could get in all the positions i needed from the bed. She had me using a peanut ball, a birthing stool and even a squat rail in the bed to help baby go down. She also helped guide me through the pushing stage. Thanks to Marisol, I felt supported, heard and empowered throughout my birthing experience, despite my birth going not as planned. She also does belly binding for postpartum (added bonus!). She also told me about an upcoming Bradley Method course. My husband and I enrolled and I found the classes are be helpful and intimate. My husband and I gained confidence about the labor process. My husband and I wanted to find birthing classes that would help us feel more confident and connected to our birth. The Bradley Method Classes with Marisol were exactly what we were looking for. The classes taught us everything from nutrition and strengthening exercises to the signs of different stages of labor and coached relaxation techniques. We took our class with one other couple and it was nice to be able to join in the experience with others. We were generally very busy, but this dedication allowed us time to connect and reflect on our new journey as parents. The teacher, Marisol, is very warm and welcoming. I always felt comfortable to ask questions and share. You can see her dedication as a teacher through her preparations for games and videos for class. We felt so confident in Marisol, we asked her to join us in our birth as our doula. As a doula, I remember Marisol's intuition and presence in the labor room the most. She just knows the right things to say and in the right tone and voice. She allowed my husband the space to practice everything he learned about coaching in class and guided us when we needed it. This review is long over due but I recommend Marisol's Bradley Method class to new parents all the time. In 2017, my husband and I took her class and it helped us become so informed and prepared for the birth or our daughter. Even though I got Pre Eclampsia and HELLP syndrome during labor, the relaxation exercises and knowledge of the hospital birth interventions from the Bradley class kept me and husband feeling at ease. Even doctors and nurses seemed impressed by our calm approach and need to ask a lot of questions to know what they were doing to me and baby. If I hadn't learned to relax, create a zen environment in our labor and delivery room, and breathe properly, I don't know that I would have been able to have a vaginal birth and without an epidural! read more

Despite both husband and I being in the healthcare field, expecting our first child was a new venture for the both of us! We took the Bradley Method class taught by Marisol from Together in Birth. She is absolutely amazing! The classes were so informative and Marisol was a great teacher. It's apparent that she loves what she does and is seen by how well she teaches her classes! She likes to stay current and up to date with new information regarding child birth. I appreciate that her focus is on natural child birth but at the same time is non judgemental. With my pregnancy and birth history it was a struggle to find a group of supporters for a natural birth. I had two previous c-sections and was looking for a support team going into my vbac2. These past 7 years and three pregnancies later all I heard from everyone was.. "You can't have a natural vaginal birth, it's impossible, you can harm yourself and the baby" the list of discouraging words go on. I knew from the moment I got pregnant I wanted to experience birth the way I believe every woman should experience it. Naturally! The way us women were designed and made to do so. What can my wife and I say about Marisol except that she is spectacular! Without going to deep into our story I was first presented to the concept of the Bradley Method through our friend Joy from church. Since we started classes late in our pregnancy other teachers couldn't work with our late start except for Marisol. She was the only person that was flexible enough to work with our August 15th due date. Being so knowledgeable on the subject matter my wife and I hired her as our doula which served to be the best decision we ever made! Fast forward a few weeks and my wife begins to have contractions on August 10th to which we contacted Marisol as to the best course of action. She was quick acting and responsive to our needs. We were so proud of our experience in her class that we stuck to our birth plan (some hospitals don't honor birth plans by the way) and selected a baby friendly hospital per her advice. After nearly 12 hours of labor at home we made our way to the hospital and Marisol was called in to stay with us for another 12 hours. This just shows how dedicated she is to her clients and how much passion is in her for empowering families to have the birth they truly desire. She even brought me a sweater for the hospital stay because I completely forgot to pack it due to all the nervous excitement of having our first child. I can honestly say that Marisol is the real deal and she gave us what most hospitals take for granted....Confidence. We had the confidence to give our pregnancy the best, we had the confidence to show our doctors how prepared we were and we left the hospital knowing that our son will receive the best care from his doctors, his family, his church and his doula Marisol. I was pregnant with my first baby girl and one of my friend has worked with Marisol during her pregnancy she told me how amazing Marisol's services were... so when I got pregnant I took her Bradley method class and all other services when I was at my 16 weeks pregnant Marisol's classes were super informative and very very important for the first time parents who have no idea how important this knowledge is. She is best in what she does and I had hired her as my doula too. She was there in the hospital the entire time that I was laboring and she came at home to before we left to the hospital. My labor was long and I had a back labor for 23 hours and I did it all natural without any medication because I took her classes and her services. Me and my husband were alone during my pregnancy without any family so it was a great relief that we had Marisol to emotionally be there and give us the most practical information that we needed. She was encouraging the entire time that I can do it and was there for me as a strong support system with my husband. 5 start rating is too low for Marisol. This is my first time having a baby and being a mommy, so I was anxious as I had no idea what pregnancy and labor and delivery entailed. My sister in law told me about the Bradley Method, I really didn't want to do Lamaze since I didn't find it fitting to my needs. We found Marisol and I'm sooooo glad that we did! She is always available to answer any questions, even outside of our classes. (I was texting her during my labor...thank God for her and my husband...I couldn't have done it without them). Her classes and resources are and have been vital throughout my pregnancy. Marisol was absolutely amazing! She made my husband and I feel very comfortable asking any questions no matter how personal they were. Every class was engaging and informative. Where to begin. I would like to first thank Marisol for bringing a whole new perspective on pregnancy and labor into my eyes. Marisol is a master of the Bradley method. She introduced a new kind of way of viewing what pregnancy and labor is. Because of Marisol and her teachings she made my wife and I more confident in ourselves. Marisol is extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind. Her classes are extremely helpful and prepare you for the delivery. Trust me you need to invest in her classes and if you can hire her as a Doula. It is like getting the best coaching you can get before going into an important exam. If you are prepared, you improve your chances of success. She is prompt, she is available, she is helpful. We called Marisol when our labor started and it lasted for 23 hours. Thankfully we had a natural delivery without an epidural. Marisol was our doctor, our nurse, our coach, our guide, our angel and our doula. Her shear precedence gave my wife the confidence to control the urge of any intervention. She has techniques and skills and the right tools to help you with a natural delivery. First of all I've got to say we love Marisol ! Unlike many parents to be we began our Bradley coaching fairly "late". We had heard about Bradley classes from a few of our friends and at about 30 weeks pregnant my husband and I decided to take the course. Most places I had inquired at did not want to see us because it was too late the course is 12 weeks long and we wouldn't have enough time to go through all the material, also their time schedules did not match ours. I connected with Marisol through another mom that had been a client of Marisol. As soon as we connected Marisol did not hesitate to give me the necessary information. She went above and beyond my expectations. She was very flexible with our schedule and condensed the 12 week course into a 6 week crash course! I can't emphasize enough how much we learned with her. Everything we learned in class came to pass step by step when we went into labor . If it had not been for the Bradley classes and learning about options what questions to ask and what to expect . Marisol was our everything during our pregnancy and childbirth journey. We took her Bradley classes while I was pregnant, she was our doula, and we had a baby wearing session with her after our LO was here. Marisol is knowledgeable, compassionate, and inspiring in the way she teaches her classes and coaches during childbirth. She will never tell you what to choose, but she will always make sure that you are informed and empowered to make your own decisions during your pregnancy and birth experience. We learned so much from her during the Bradley classes. Our labor and childbirth did not go as we originally planned, and after four days in labor we ended up having to have every intervention we hadn't wanted, including an emergency c-section. However, through it all Marisol was unwaveringly supportive and the information that we had gained from her class helped us to understand the reasons behind why the doctors were suggesting certain things and what the benefits and drawbacks of each were. In the moment, it's difficult to think straight, so we were very grateful to have had time during our Bradley class to learn about and consider all our options ahead of time, so that we had a clear idea of what we would be willing to do and when. Marisol only broke her rule of not getting involved directly with the medical staff once (and I'm so glad she did) when she advocated for me to get water after my surgery when I felt like I couldn't breath because my mouth was so dry. She also stayed with my husband in the recovery room until after I had arrived and was feeling well enough to hold the baby. As much as she supported me throughout everything, of equal (if not more) significance, she was an amazing support to my husband during labor. As the person experiencing the labor directly, I was too deeply immersed in the experience to think about anything except what I was going through. Marisol helped make sure that my husband was taking care of himself during our ridiculously long labor experience. She was also there to talk him through everything that was happening and to answer his questions, give him pep talks, remind him to take breaks, etc. We highly recommend Marisol and all of the services that she offers. She is a genuine, and caring person who will educate and empower you to have the birth experience that you want. read more
