I want to start this review by stating that this is in no regard about the Doctor herself, instead whoever is handling her schedule/New patients. I called this afternoon and asked to make an appointment with Dr. Sawyer-Macknet as a new patient. Right away, the receptionist answered me with a rude/rushed tone asking the question if I was pregnant or not. I, unfortunately, am not, hence why I wanted to see Dr. Sawyer-Macknet. With my answer, she said she is not accepting new patients when it clearly states on her website that she is. I asked if Dr. Sawyer-Macket has a referral option, and she said No, but you can go to the hospital. I am beyond disgusted with the level of professionalism; this receptionist gave me. With this being the first impression of Dr. Sawyer-Macknet, I would strongly suggest that revaluate who is the first point of contact for her patients because this is ultimately a reflection of her practice. read more

Dr. Sawyer has provided care for my wife with all three of her complicated pregnancies. She is truly a wonderful, caring, warm and super intelligent OBGYN. Every time we have met with her (more than 40 visits) she has patiently answered all our questions and provided us with great advice and insight. Her office is super modern and super clean! Staff is warm, timely and compassionate! The process of having a baby is like a very special journey. It is so wonderful when you have a Doctor like Dr. Sawyer who goes out of her way to comfort you and guide you through this so special journey in such a very warm and ultra compassionate way. Before we first met Dr. Sawyer over eight years ago we first went to the Loma Linda University FMO and felt like we were treated like a number. After a terrible encounter at another OBGYN, I'm thankful to have come across Dr. Sawyer Macknet. I have Tricare so my first concern when calling to see if she was accepting new patients was seeing if she accepted my insurance as well. Luckily she did. The ladies that work with her are the sweetest. They always greet you with smiling faces, by your name when entering the office and have you checked in before you get to the counter. From dealing with Tricare (if you have Tricare you know it's a headache itself) to always making sure that I was comfortable and my needs were met. I'm also extremely grateful on how they work with you to find the best time for appointments. Dr. Sawyer goes the extra mile to get to know you and whom ever attends your appointments with you. She involves you in all aspects of each appointment and you can see all the notes in the portal after each appointment. I was particularly fond of being able to see my little one through ultrasound each Drs appointment I had. I know that once we're ready to add another little one to the family I will be returning to be under her care. I've recommended a few friends and family to her office because of how satisfied I was with her work. This review has nothing to do with Dr. Danielle Sawyer. It has to do with the lady that does the scheduling for new patients. I submitted my new patient paperwork over three months ago and barley received a call back today. First off she didn't even have my correct name and then said the doctor wanted to refer me to the hospital to been seen due to past medical history. I don't have any serious past medical history and when I questioned her about what she was referring to she had attitude.I didn't get her name but she was unprofessional and rude. read more

Let me start by saying there is absolutely NO reason for Dr. Sawyer to receive anything less than 5 stars. I'm sure my wife will agree with me, if we could give 10 stars we definitely would. My wife Diana has only been a patient of Dr. Sawyer for less than a year and wow it has been easily one of the best decisions. I am convinced that Dr. Sawyer is one of the best doctors/surgeons in all of the Inland Empire or maybe even outside of the IE. Dr. Sawyer's energy, care, personality, genuine concern, her credentials, reputation are just some of the many reasons why I highly recommend you go see her if you are in need of a doctor. This is my first time being here. The Dr. Sawyer-Macknet is very professional and impeccable. However, there are still some flaws on the working attitude should be improved. In our first visit, we told the doctor that we want do NIPT and the nurse didn't do it, so we had to come back again to do the NIPT test. Because our phone number was wrongly given to our ultrasound specialist so we didn't get the phone call from the ultrasound specialist. Our address was incorrectly given to the blood laboratory, so we didn't get the bill and we have to call the lab to pay it. We cannot register on their website, even if their system emailed us to do so. I believe that they incompletely input our information in their system. I hope the experience of visiting could be better in a couple of months. read more

I'm convinced that Dr. Sawyer is the best ob gyn in this area. After having a negative experience with a different ob, I decided I would only settle for the very best. I made an appointment with Dr. Sawyer after reading these impressive yelp reviews, and I'm so grateful to have had her as my provider thorough out my pregnancy. Dr Sawyer is incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. She is compassionate, down to earth, and very easy to connect with. Additionally, Dr Sawyer is very empathic and understanding regarding the stressors women experience before, during, and after pregnancy. I needed an unexpected c-section, which Dr Sawyer performed. Dr Sawyer showed up to the hospital quickly to perform the surgery. I knew I was in good hands, which really eased my nerves. She was so kind and helped me relax as I was getting prepped. Dr Sawyer did an incredible job with the c section, and my scar is already healing nicely. Dr Sawyer is *highly* respected at Loma Linda University. When nurses would check on my c-section wound, they consistently commented that the wound looked great and that Dr Sawyer does really good work. Ultimately, I'm so glad that Dr Sawyer made the medical decision to proceed with a c-section (given the specific circumstances). It later was evident that this was the best decision, and it saved myself and my baby from a a very stressful natural delivery that would have resulted in complications and an emergency c-section. Thank you, Dr Sawyer, for taking such good care of me and my baby, and for bringing her into this world safely. read more

Dr sawyer is awesome! She is so down to earth . We have been coming to her while my wife is pregnant with our second child! We couldn't be happier. The front staff is extremely inviting and attentive to our needs and appointments. They are very good at handling insurance even thou I know it is to be a pain in @$$. The facility is very modern and clean. The equipment seems to be late model . The dr is attentive in answering any questions and is some that we can all relate to, which makes us feel right at home. She is goes out of her way to make sure the appointments fit our schedule even thou we have a 30 min drive. I would refer this office to anyone! read more

I was a high risk pregnancy (carrying an IVF baby), and I really appreciated the care and attentiveness of the doctor and her staff throughout the pregnancy, but I was disappointed by what happened on the delivery day. The four stars are due to the following reasons. The good: Dr. Sawyer has a great sense of humor and really spends time to hear all your concerns and does seem to genuinely care. Also, I "loved" the clinic in Irvine she referred me to for detailed analysis and diagnostics during the pregnancy. It was a great 9 months. Plus, her clinic staff are so caring and kind - some of the best people I have ever met. The bad: Lots of regrets with the way my child was delivered. I was encouraged to get induced (which in hindsight, I regret following through with - I was 39 weeks so I wasn't past due). The doctor popped my amniotic fluid at 3 cm (which in hindsight, I wish I had stopped). The hospital had students and residents working on me (which in hindsight, I shouldn't have allowed considering I was high risk). The ugly: I had a bruised arm because the student nurse couldn't find my vein, I had an emergency C-section because I believe my amniotic fluid was ruptured by Dr. Sawyer prematurely (to hurry thing up - which at the time I wasn't opposed to, I was there for 9 hours, so it seemed like a good idea) but due to heavy bleeding, I had an emergency C-section in which the resident doing the epidural must have done something wrong because I could barely breathe during the whole C-section, and it just bothered me that the doctor was talking casually about her social life and kids while I'm concerned about my breathing and what's happening to my body/baby (I'm assuming she did that to distract me from the chaos), and to top off the nightmare of a difficult delivery, my baby had to be in the NICU for 3 days because she had trouble breathing. And in case you don't already know, the hospital bills that come in after a C-section/NICU of a 3-day hospital stay are jaw-dropping horrendous - even "with" insurance, I think it came out to about $13,000 ‍ our PPO insurance covers most and we just have to pay 10%, so that was the result of a bill of $130,000! We thought we were going to deliver this baby vaginally (doctor kept reassuring me that everything was going well and that's what would most likely happen), and I asked the clinic front desk how much this would all cost, and they pretty much tell you that you won't know until you deliver. Well, now I know - and you do, too! :) I am extremely grateful for my child. I have waited 10 years to have her. I will say that I think the doctor and staff at Loma Linda may have intended well, but I am writing this because I hope the person reading this will learn four valuable lessons: 1 - don't rush your delivery date 2 - don't allow students or residents to work on you ‍ (you can let your hospital know before walking in) 3 - don't allow your amniotic fluid to be popped prematurely (it could result in an emergency C-section) ‍ 4 - save extra money in case you have unexpected complications cash I hope this helps someone out there. read more

Dr. Sawyer is hands down on of the most professional Obgyns I have ever met. Between her and the front office girls they really do work together as a team all very knowledgeable and professional! I previously came from another Obgyn who neglected to give me the proper care that I needed and due to her lack of care and concern for my health I had a stillbirth. It was so devastating and I lost all hope for a healthy pregnancy. Upon doing a lot of research I found dr. Sawyer and let me just say I am so thankful to have found her as well as dr. Kurtzman. I was really hoping to start my prenatal process here due to their promotion of functional medicine. I requested an appointment via phone. It is an answering service that picks up and passes the message along to the providers office. It has now been 24 hours and I haven't received a call. When I called back today the service says they just pass the messages along and their is no time frame expected for a call back. I have some concerns with my pregnancy and so I will need to look into going some place else. Update it's three months later and still no call. read more

The best OB! So good that she makes me wish I could go back in time and deliver my first with her as well! I ended up with a life threatening syndrome with my first baby (delivered in another state) and moved to CA when I was 7mo pregnant with my second baby. She was very thorough in monitoring and making sure i didn't develop the same syndrome the second time around. She is also so caring and always takes the time to talk with you and address any concerns. Meant to write a review for a while now. I had my daughter back in August and Doctor Sawyer was mY OBGYN for my pregnancy. She's AMAZING so caring and thoughtful and really cares about the women she treats. I went into preterm labor and she was there every step and actually able to stop it and give me the tough love I needed to hear so I could calm down my life and let me little girl stay in as long as possible. Dr. Sawyer cared for me and my baby during pregnancy and delivery and afterward. She's a wonderful, knowledgeable and caring OB who has struck the perfect balance of professionalism and kind, personal compassion.
