I've told her time and time again she under charges for her services, since she comes to your house more than once, she is there for the birth and does a follow up. She is the reason my wife was able to go through labor drug free and almost pain free (ask my wife she actually says its not that painful) plus she helped our cousin with a natural birth in a hospital too. Sarah is a certified Hypnobirthing doula, I should add which worked really well for us. So if your flavor is a home birth, birth center or hospital birth she is the one to call since she can work in all scenarios and without getting in the way of the Doctors, Nurses or Midwife. She is respectful of your wishes and your birth plan. Everyone should know she works all over the southland so if you are in Pasadena, OC, Westside, you name it she will likely do it. I'll happily call her for the next baby....if the wife lets us have one ;-)

To say I had a difficult pregnancy would be an understatement... We still wanted to have the most natural birth we could and Sarah patiently walked us through all of our questions and concerns. Any time we had a question come up she was right there to walk us through it and if she didn't have an immediate answer she would point us in the right direction. We had an emergency induction and were incredibly scared. Sarah was right there with us every step of the way... This sweet woman slept in her car so she could be there the moment it was go time. There's no doubt in our minds we would have ended up in a C-Section had she not been there in my face keeping me going. She was an amazing support to my husband as well as we were not prepared mentally for what we were going through. After 33 hours of induced labor we still had the natural birth we had so desperately wanted. This woman is a god send. I really wanted to know everything I possibly could and I was also looking for a little community as I was feeling very alone in those first weeks of pregnancy (and overwhelmed with what I didn't know). AND THESE CLASSES DELIVERED! My husband is also a knowledge seeker so when I told him these were the classes I wanted he was all in. We learned so much. We joke that he didn't just learn about the natural birth process he learned how to be my "daddy doula". We still enjoy talking to people about everything we learned and how to support each other and how to speak to your doctors or the hospital nurses. Even if you aren't considering a natural birth these classes should be taken by everyone expecting a baby. You learn about the body, you learn about the different stages of labor, how to prep your body and your mind. There is even a class on breastfeeding which was invaluable those first 3 days postpartum. Lia is also an amazing teacher. If I have another I would definitely also hire her as my doula. She is a person you want in your corner during birth.

I was so excited to finally meet her in person and I signed the contract right away. I immediately sent over my deposit and I requested that she provide me with a receipt for the deposit . The fact that she was initially declining my request for a receipt because she wanted to wait until after the baby was born was probably the first sign that trouble was coming. I went back-and-forth with her and asked to get my receipt for the money that I had already paid so that I could use that receipt for a reimbursement with my flexible spending account. She still refused to give me the receipt so I reached out to my flexible spending company and asked them if I had to wait for the baby to be born in order to be reimbursed and they said no. Finally, Marisol agreed to give me a receipt for my deposit. I found this quite odd since people generally get a receipt when money exchanges hands. My husband and I meet with Marisol around 36 weeks to go over the birth plan. I tell her that my plan is to have her help me labor at home as much as possible since I wanted to reduce the likelihood of medical interventions. I also asked they she capture some photos for us. Marisol explained that we should not contact her right away if labor starts in the middle of the night, only call when ready. She kept stressing this point and even emailed me a document that says to only call when we are ready for her to come. A couple of weeks later I go into labor late one night. My labor progressed quickly and we called Marisol when we wanted her to come over, no answer. I then texted her. A short time later I told her we were headed to the hospital. Labor pains got so intense that I was not able to monitor my phone so my husband and Marisol were texting. Labor pains were so intense so I requested an epidural at the hospital. Once Marisol got this information , she assumed she had more time. I guess she didn't take into account that that epidural was not completed. Long story short, she didn't make her way to the hospital until after the kid was born. Per her contract, she had 90 minutes to get to me. My labor was quick but she had a 3 hour heads up. I was actually disappointed that she came to the hospital because now it feels like a random acquaintance just showed up for one of the biggest days of your life and now you have to entertain them. She stayed with us until we got transferred to our postpartum room. At this point, Marisol was not a part of my birth story at all and I was angry. A couple days later I immediately requested a partial refund. She denied my request saying she was "available." Instead she offered me one additional 3 hour postpartum visit. I didn't accept that and said we could discuss this matter when she did her postpartum visit. During the visit, Marisol said she could tell that I "felt some type of way" and she asked me to share my feelings. I told her I felt cheated, I'm out a lot of money and she didn't have to do anything. It was her choice to not come to me right away, I followed all of her instructions. Marisol then told me she was actually on her way to me but she needed time to shower, clean her doula supplies and pack her doula bag. Once she heard about the epidural, she returned home to pack snacks. This information infuriated me....she missed my birth for this?!?! This is an area where you don't get a do over. I would imagine that with the nature of this job you would always have your supplies clean and ready. She ended up offering me 12 postpartum hours. I told her that was not what I wanted since I didn't want to think of things for her to help me with. In plus, it's easy to get help during the day. I ended up requesting my money back and threatening legal action since she breached her own contract. In the end she agreed to return 1/2 of my money ($1400) and I was able to avoid legal action. (I didn't mind taking legal action, this was an open and shut case according to the guidance I received). I'd say she still came out ahead, $1400 for 2 short visits to my house and a short 45 minute visit to the hospital after my kid was born. I am beyond bummed about this experience. So yes, I still "feel some type of way!" I'm not sure how you could say you were available yet you missed the birth. And I still can't comprehend the rationale. I'm so confused.

Dina W. was very accommodating and extremely supportive. Always there for nighttime feeding/diaper/burping/etc, cleaning pump parts, food prep, and baby/kid laundry. I really appreciate her willingness to do everything we asked and with a positive attitude. It was easy to send an inquiry on their website. I received a prompt response based on our price range request. I also inquired with another company at the same time but they never replied. Thanks Dina!!

Cannot recommend Bree or Breezy Doula enough!…read more We're due in September and have already had so many great experiences with Breezy Doula. We first learned about them at a Memorialcare Saddleback open house. We were not at all familiar with doula care and at first didn't understand, but now we cannot imagine giving birth without a doula (specifically one from Breezy Doula!). Upon reaching out, we filled out their online form then received such a warm, quick and thorough response from the doula director, Sarah. She gave us a list of doulas within their group that matched our preferences and budget. We ended up meeting with two amazing doulas and didn't need to interview more. It was such a tough decision as both doulas were super warm, responsive, knowledgeable, and experienced. We decided to move forward with Carla and picked the grand package! See the attached pic for the package offerings, I removed the pricing as it varies per doula and prices may have changed since I last received this. We've taken the spinning babies (1 day) and hypnobirthing classes (wednesdays for 5 weeks straight) with Bree in Laguna Hills. Such a great experience! We've learned SOO much. Bree is so passionate about birth and motherhood. She keeps the content easy to digest and informative, but is also very patient with the many questions we had. Also another point for all the yummy snacks she provides! I also really love how she brings in guest speakers (baby & maternity chiropractor, IBCLC, acupuncturist, etc.) So excited to give birth! The classes have really helped me feel prepared, debunked the common misconceptions around childbirth, and have removed the fear brought by unrealistic situations shown in movies or on TV. Definitely reach out, you will not regret it!

The hospital class prepared me for interventions to expect, and basically how to be a good patient. Flor not only covered the physical aspects of birth (anatomy, hormones, what moves how and when/where, etc) but also your options and what to expect with those interventions. She is honest, clear, and explains things in a way that truly helps you understand what these interventions entail. Another very valuable component of this class is the interventions she teaches you - tools to advocate for yourself, how your partner can best support you, and many different ways to deal with the process of labor. The demonstrations of positions were so helpful! My first birth I wanted to go natural, but ended up saying yes to interventions that I felt contributed to a rocky start to breastfeeding and my baby having to be readmitted for hyperbilirubinemia. Thanks to this course I felt SO PREPARED. My biggest fear was that I wouldn't be able deal with the pain and say yes to interventions I didn't want and be disappointed. I went into labor naturally, delivered at a hospital and had a physiological, unmedicated birth of a healthy 8lb 10oz baby with no complications. My partner and I felt so united and prepared. We advocated for our birth plan and had the birth we had hoped for!! If you are looking for a birth class that is inclusive, honest, and truly prepares you to plan for the birth you want, TAKE THIS CLASS. I cannot recommend enough!! I'm an RN and truly learned so much through this class and process and have so much respect for the work Flor is doing to help women have the birth they hope for. Hospitals are for sick people and emergencies, and birth is not an illness. Flor truly honors the process for the miracle it is, and it shows in her work, website, personality and this class. I became semi-obsessed with natural birth during my pregnancy. I watched documentaries, read six books, took a Bradley Method course with my husband. The best thing I did to accomplish my goal of achieving the birth of my dreams was to hire a doula. No, the best thing I did to accomplish my goal was to hire Flor. She was incredible. I tried giving up multiple times. Each time, I looked at Flor and she smiled and told me I could do it. I was going on my second day in labor and Flor was with me every step of the way. She was replying to my text messages at 2:00 in the morning when my early labor stalled, she used a rebozo to help me push my baby out, Flor gave me essential oils during contractionns, she helped my husband help me through the difficult parts. She was amazing. They say moms hire doulas for the first born and dads hire doulas for the second. This couldn't be more true. The birth of my son will be forever engraved on my memory and my heart and Flor will be a permanent part of our birth story. We are so lucky to have met such a strong, special person. Working with Tabare was one the best decisions we made for this journey…read more Tabare is humble, knowledgeable, and has amazing communication.(We are "i" person ).But beyond that, she's like the "mom" you didn't know you needed--caring, supportive, and with a heart of shining gold. For example , she actually called the numbers from the brochures the hospital gave to us and identified some confusing information. When my wife's water broke at midnight, Tabare responded to our cellphone msg and offered advice.we went to Hoag Irvine at 4 AM, and Tabare was already there waiting for us. While we are waiting In the triage room, she massaged, reassured, and tried different techniques to keep my wife comfortable. Honestly, she was the busiest and most calming person in the room. Tabare is positive, responsive, and down-to-earth. Working with her felt like having the world's best wedding planner--but for your baby's birth. We prepared together, learned together, and teamed up with the midwives for an amazing, joyful experience. As a first-time dad, I can't thank her enough. Now I'm telling every expectant parent: if you can, work with a Doula; If you made the decision, I recommend Tabare. You'll laugh, you'll feel supported, and you'll look back with the joyful and wonderful experience and memories. Ok, let's talk about the cons: 1 The telephone operator - The OCWM 24/7 response line that night was disappointing. The operator didn't seem to care, made several basic mistakes, and wasted a lot of my time. I eventually had to hang up and call another number for help. 2 Nurse issue - We probably came in during the night shift change. While Tabare and I were outside in the lobby doing paperwork to gain access, my wife was in pain and left alone in the triage room with one nurse. Later, my wife told me the nurse was pressuring her to make decisions and struggled with something as basic as a blood draw.(I just cannot believe how amateur it is for a blood draw) Husbands, NEVER leave your wife alone in the hospital!

My experience with Taba was not a planned one. My doula had a personal emergency when I was set for…read moremy induction at 41weeks and I had less than an hour to make a connection over the phone with her for one of the most intimate events of your life that you could have - birth. To say that Taba stepped up to the plate is an understatement. As I was sobbing on the phone full of anxiety trying to impart my entire story to her she ended it with clear direction - "it sounds like I need to be there with you when you go in" - I can't tell you the amount of weight that lifted off my chest when she uttered that sentence to me. My first birth was during the pandemic and resulted in a traumatic emergency c section so my anxiety was through the roof. Taba's sense of humor, confidence, relationship management style, incredible experience/knowledge, and her amazing ability to download my information made me feel so comfortable. She never left my side when I needed her. She supported my partner in helping him understand when he could step in and standing in when he couldn't. Without Taba I wouldn't have felt confident pushing for more options, making it clear what I consented to, etc. this birth was my redemption birth and I owe a lot of it to Taba.

I was nervous about all the potential interventions that would be pushed on me so I needed someone who would help me achieve this goal. She did a phenomenal job supporting and encouraging my wishes. When the hospital pushed for one intervention, she was quick to give me research that helped me make my own decision--which happened to be contrary to the hospital policy. Her presence helped me feel confident about the decisions I made, and without her I would have caved into many things and looked back with regret. Even though the birth didn't go as I hoped-- I was in labor for 3 days and ended up taking the epidural and pitosin, I'm confident that without her I would've ended up getting a c section. Instead, I was able to deliver my baby vaginally which was a huge blessing. She supported me by providing research relevant to the circumstances I faced, teaching my husband and I what exercises we could be doing to help me cope with labor, applying acupressure, and bringing candles and lights to our labor. On top of all the things that she did for us, Pam is a really nice person to get to know. I'm grateful for her, and she holds a special place in my heart. She's probably the best doula in Los Angeles and I'm happy I was able to find a Christian doula.

I was overwhelmed with trying to find the right doula who served our area while dealing with terrible nausea. But when I saw Pam's website, I knew she was the one! As a Christian, having a faith-filled, God-centered birth was very important to me. And Pam definitely brought that (and more) to the table. At around 20 weeks pregnant, I was told I had a complete placenta previa. My dreams of an unmedicated and uncomplicated birth were shattered. But Pam was so encouraging and helped me to stay positive. She even prayed with me over the phone before my follow-up ultrasound. I'm thankful that we started working with Pam earlier in my pregnancy, because she was so helpful throughout it all. She always made herself available for a phone call or any questions I had. She also has so much knowledge and gave me many resources such as books to borrow, websites, and even recommendations for childbirth classes. Now for the birth! Thankfully, my placenta previa resolved, so I planned for an unmedicated hospital birth. Pam met us at the hospital, and her presence was so calming and comforting. She made sure to communicate my wishes to hospital staff and even took precious pictures throughout labor and delivery. After birth, she busted out some delicious home made soup that was much needed. Anyway, I'm just blabbing now. But I would 100% recommend Pam!! Her calm presence and wealth of knowledge and resources made my pregnancy and delivery cherished memories. Thank you, Pam!!

Looking back, I absolutely can not imagine how my birth took place without the invaluable support of Kayla - my best and beloved doula, and already dear friend of our family. The duration of my birth was about 60 hours, most of which I was in high-intensity bouts. This period was very difficult, and without Kayla, I certainly could not handle it. Tens or hundreds of positions, riding on fitball in different variations, the use of riboso, endless massages, respiratory techniques and many other things - has become its great contribution to facilitating the birth process. For almost three days, from the stage of labor until the baby's birth, Kayla was with me, supported and spent tons of energy to ease my condition and give me confidence that my body would cope with its main mission. Unfortunately, or fortunately, everything went not according to my plan, and an urgent transfer to the hospital from the birthing center, where I planned to give birth naturally, was required. For the last day in the hospital, my husband and I had to take dozens of important decisions, from taking antibiotics to the possibility of cesarean. Kayla was a huge psychological support not only for me, but for my husband. A true professional, delicate and neutral in her position, she gave us the freedom to decide, leaving us alone at the right moments. Very strong in spirit and body, and at the same time a man of subtle soul, emotionality and sensitivity. My eyes see in her a real angel sent to earth with a special mission - to fill this world with mercy and love! No words can describe my deep sense of gratitude to Kayla. Not only did she seem very service oriented, but you could tell she had a passion for this line of work. Kayla was very flexible with everything and provided us with a lot of information. Some of it was a refresher and some of it was new. We had the typical pre-delivery meetings, went through the plan, discussed what-if scenarios and set the plan. Communication was always great and when the day finally came (one week late) Kayla was with us at 2 am until delivery later on that morning. During the labor and delivery process she did exactly what we needed which was remind us of the plan, talk about options and overall just provided support for my wife and myself. The labor and delivery went excellent and this being our second experience with a doula we cannot speak anymore highly of it. Kayla has a real passion for this and I would highly recommend her.
