Birrieria Tijuana - Hands down the best birria iv had - Tacos Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

Wanted to try Birria forever and saw videos of this spot online. To say the least, it did not disappoint! Birria was extremely flavourful and tender and the amount of consumè was generous. Chorizo and steak tacos were also delicious and served with so much meat! Sauce and topping bar is unlimited, clean and filled with fresh cut limes, onion etc - the perfect addition to these awesome menu items. Service was kind considering we did not know how to order, pretty quick too. Loved the loud and fun decor with fun music and casual seating! Will definitely be back. read more

Went for my nieces birthday, we had a great time. Staff was so nice and helpful. Must try mango Agua Fresca if available. We all shared the Birrieria pizza which was soooo good. Also had the birrieria platter that fed us all. Will definitely go back. read more

Pozole had flavor, but meat portions were huge chunks and could have been cut smaller. The Birria plate was dry and without consume.

The food here is fantastic. Pricey, but worth it 100%. The music is nice, the decor is a combination of pretty and a bit strange! I don't totally get the pigs, but the tables and plants are really cute. The horchata was really cinnamon-y and too sweet. Our overall experience here has been great! read more

Tough, dry buria. Rotting onions and old cilantro, reheated deepfried tripe, flavorless broth. Standard service at the counter, back area is left open while renovated or unimproved, suspended cork ceiling is pretty beat up. I will update if I get food poisoning. read more

TLDR: Worth a try. The Good: Portions, meat flavor (admittedly only had the birria since we are at BIRRIERIA, duh), price, service is friendly/fast, parking is in a big lot The Bad: It's pretty greasy, very heavy I've been wanting to try here forever. Okay, since they've been open which is not long. There's a long list of things to try, and a number of different meats, but "birria" is in the name of the restaurant and there aren't many places that have this, so worth ordering. I am a giant fatty and also tend to overorder on my first trip to somewhere new, so I got the birria fries, a birria burrito and a birria street taco (though I think they got this wrong and gave me a soft taco instead of street ones). I ordered no cilantro but as it happens with most halfway authentic places, no dice on that. However, it was pretty good even having to pick around it and while I definitely had too much food, I'd probably head back to try other things. There is a salsa bar with different level of spice, pickled onions, and pico. There is no water dispenser but they will provide you with a big cup of it if you ask. The fries are baked and could have been baked longer, but I didn't mind it much (there is enough fried to satisfy with other foods). Overall I enjoyed it and am looking forward to trying other meats on the menu. read more

Really enjoyed my experience at Birriera Tijuana. I'm glad to find a good spot to grab birria in Bham, this place really checked all the boxes for me. Kind service, fresh delicious food, good quality ingredients, very clean, with only a 10 minute wait-time. I got the quesabirria, with a side of consume. Everything was very tasty. I must say the portion size is generous. $15 for a pretty sizable quesadilla, stuffed with a lot of cheese and birria, is more than a reasonable price. I've had 5+ birria places in Skagit and Whatcom, and this is definitely my new favorite. Can't wait to try them again ASAP! read more

Birrieria Tijuana - Quesabirria Sola with side of Consome Birriera Tijuana Absolutely delicious - Tacos Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

I'd give this a 0 star rating if I could. This is the first time I've walked out of a restaurant having only taken two bites of the meal, and I've eaten out a lot. Dry birria, out of packet broth, old onions and cilantro. Tripe was old and reheated by deep frying, greasy and bread was burned. read more

Delicious food with authentic flavor. No alcohol here...but great agua frescas you can take home, and add your own! And I do recommend take out. Seating is a bit sketch and the tables and dining room are sometimes not as clean as I'd like. They are a busy store, and there are often kids running around and it can be quite noisy. Stick to the birria offerings, not the oddities, and you'll be happiest. I know: I'm usually the guy that says, "Try the weird stuff!" But here, I recommend you go with their specialty to avoid disappointment. Service is efficient and effective, if not necessarily warm and cuddly. If the food wasn't so good, I might ding them for that, but in this instance their brevity and speed is a good thing: it shortens the distance between me and that rich, savory, spicy, umami bomb that is birria! Get in there and get you some! read more

Their tacos are 100x better than the tiny ones at Mi Rancho and worth the extra $2. The lady at the counter is very nice.

Food is amazing and authentic! They offer a great deal on Tuesdays but also budget friendly any other day! The cheesy tacos with birria (shredded beef) and the consume dip on the side is my favorite. Tacos are pretty large in size and very filling. Also their fresh fruit juices are delicious! My favorite would be the mango. What sets them apart is they also offer some halal meats. I saw they have seafood plates coming soon! read more

Hands down the best indulgent Mexican food that is legions ahead for bang for buck value in Bellingham. A crazy hot melty deliciousness that had been a favorite ever since it opened in town. Huge selection of fresh salsa at the bar with limes and pickled onions. Nice selection of fresh juices and some surprises on the menu that kinda set the place apart from the norm. Go check it out and bring the appetite! read more

At first I thought 19 bucks was a bit steep for a quesadilla and some beans and rice. Boy was I wrong. I open the box to find a behemoth of a quesadilla staring at me, loaded with birria and cheese. This may be the best thing I've ever eaten quite frankly. I am full after having 1/4 of that thing--in other words, if you're able to fit more of that delicious monstrosity in your mouth, it would be around 10 bucks a meal. I will dream of this food. read more

I'm giving this place five stars because the of the value, overall friendly service and cleanliness, and the delicious food. They have a salsa bar with three salsas, cucumbers, radishes, cilantro and onion, among other things. Two birria tacos or cheese tacos make a heavy meal since they are a bit greasy. Both times the meat has been moist and delicious. The consume is a generous serving, and their guacamole is cheap and delicious. I saved my consume and brought it home to use as a base for a pazole type soup. Anyway, I still love Mi Rancho across the way, but this place offers something new and definitely delicious! read more

GREAT birria vampiros! And have you ever tried a birria bow of ramen? If not, this is the spot! SOOO GOOOOD!!!!

Marginal at best. Meat was tough, dry and too stringy. Sauce had no depth to it. Maybe this is Tijuana style, but we didn't much like it. I have to say and I am being honest, probably the worst birria I've had in the USA. Maybe they were just having a bad day last Friday. I don't know. The counter guy forgot everything, even our water. We wanted to get some salsas from the salsa bar after asking, but no small containers - eventually he brought them but the sauces were not fresh at all - dried out onions, rock hard bricked limes and just not freshly chopped/cut anything. The tortillas didn't even seem that fresh - I wish I took a picture to show. The counter guy was nice, not rude or anything just the food was not good. Not fresh. I was willing to try again, maybe lunch is better. Wife simply will not go back. read more

Birrieria Tijuana - a close up of a sandwich - Tacos Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

We were so excited for Birrieria Tijuana to finally open in our neck of the woods and we popped in during their second week of service. It was still a little hectic inside, which was totally understandable with how new they are. The menu selection is awesome with everything ranging from classic birria tacos to seafood towers. We ordered the massive birria pizza, cheese tacos, al pastor fries with two sides of consomme and three agua frescas (guava, guanabana and passion fruit). The food was okay. The portions were very generous and the meat was super tender, but it was all lacking flavor. We also noticed that while other tables that ordered the pizza got grilled onions and peppers, we were missing ours. The part that really got me was that there was SO much old/spoiled cilantro and the limes were yellowing and starting to turn brown. I spent a good portion of time picking out yellow and spotted pieces of cilantro, which wasn't super appealing. The service was VERY nice, the agua frescas were delicious and the portions were great, so we definitely want to come back and try it again when it's less crazy and they have some things dialed in, but I wasn't over the moon with our first try. read more

Food was super greasy and lacked flavor. When birria in name think would give consome. 4 dollars for a cub of beef broth. Rice and beans came out cold. Friends asada fries on paper then on a plate the paper was soaked and mixed in with food. Price was way to high for quality of food. read more

A welcomed addition to the Bellingham food scene that feels authentic and true to what it is. The birria was tender, juicy, and the cheese taco had the perfect cheese to birria ratio... but the real star of the show was definitely the consume! I could have drank it... so good! Laid back atmosphere, cash preferred but they take card. Super reasonably priced and felt like good quality food! The guy helping us was an absolute sweetheart. 10/10 recommend. Also the agua Fresca was a delicious, a lil sweet for my liking but tasted fresh and not syrupy! read more

Order from this restaurant all the time. Favorites are cheese tacos and the ramen. Great portions and always fresh tasting

Food is okay but it's too sloppy and hard to eat sometimes. The prices are too expensive which I think they can come up with better portions to bring the price in a better range. They picked a bad location since they are next to Mi Rancho which has good food at the fraction of the cost. read more

Mulitas are it. Birria stuffed between two cheese covered tortillas. The agua Fresca is addicting.

Terrible service. Three people in our party and two got their food and one order was missing. Took over 30 minutes to get a Birrieria bowl. Boy, was my mouth happy when I popped in here. The tacos were pan fried to perfect crispness and the birria filling was, oh so flavorful, then you dip it in the consommé which takes it to a whole other level. Treat yourself, you'll be happy you did. I'm going again tonight. read more

My family loves the tacos. I had one and wasn't super impressed but the churros won me over! I don't even like churros much to be honest but took a bite and these were totally amazing! Also, carne' asada fries were excellent but I'll ask for extra cheese next time. read more

Decent rice and beans but that should be near impossible to screw up. As for the rest of my meal I tried the birria quesadillas and birria ramen. While yes, I expected these dishes to be greasy and salty by nature, but literally the only identifiable flavors in both dishes was oil and salt. The sodium content was so overwhelming I finished my horchata about 6 bites in... I don't think I've ever had more overly salted food at a restaurant before, only thing comparable is when I've accidentally dumped the whole salt shaker on my scrambled eggs. Horchata was good but oddly thick in consistency read more

I don't give out reviews often but this place deserves 5 stars. Great customer service was super friendly and even gave an horchata on the house. My family and I ordered the birria plate and it was amazing. Was out in ~10 minutes More than enough food for the 3 of us. For the price it is a great meal for 3-5 people to share.
