The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and patient, especially since my Spanish is pretty limited. I originally came in craving chilaquiles, but the Huevos Campesinos caught my eye--tamale, over-easy eggs, refried beans, and potatoes and I'm so glad I went for it. The tamale was the standout: sweet, soft, and perfectly made with that classic corn flavor. Everything on the plate beans, eggs, and potatoes was delicious and hit the spot. Great place to get some good food! The wait time was short even for a Sunday and the service was great! I ordered a white Menudo and for the kiddo a carne asada burro fries and chocolate milk. Sadly that's the only good impression. When it came to the birria, the flavor was lacking in so many levels. It was so disappointing. The meat not only needed a ton of salt, but the spices you would normally find in a birria. I ate half because I was hungry, not because I liked it. I always order my usual Birria de res... but I've also tried their tacos & burritos. Their tortillas are all made fresh & their drinks like horchata & jamaica are all made from scratch. Don't know why this place only has 4 starts. It's a legit Mexican restaurant and you're getting some good birria. I always come here and never thought about yelping them. They are all nice people and have good food. My friend and I meet up here for breakfast at least once a week. Make sure to get the beef birria if you're too iffy about the goat one. I called in to place an order for pick up. I got the order of birria de res, which comes with cilantro, onion, lime and cabbage garnishes and plenty of tortillas. I live just about a mile away, and in the 4 minutes it took me to get there my order was ready. I saw that you could order a side of cheese so I asked for some to go as well. My total came out to $9.99, and left my girlfriend and I completely satisfied. Plenty of food for such a low price, we had enough for 3 full tacos each. Angelica, the cashier was very nice and quick.
