Came in with my wife and daughter and spent $38 total. First off, we had to ask for straws three different times, even though the restaurant was basically empty. Service was very slow, which made no sense given how quiet it was. Food breakdown: * The "enchiladas" looked more like tacos, but to be fair, they actually had a lot of flavor. * Beans were really good -- probably the most solid side. * Rice was bland and overcooked. * Al pastor street tacos had zero flavor, which is disappointing since street tacos should be the foundation and staple of a place like this. * Cheese dip was very basic -- nothing special. * Salsa didn't impress me at all, no punch or flavor. * The homemade green hot sauce wasn't spicy at all. * The so-called chicken nuggets were literally Dino nuggets... and honestly, they were the best part of the visit. I really don't understand how you mess up street tacos when that should be your strong point. The food was inconsistent, service was slow, and the flavors just didn't deliver. First time here. Staff was polite, place was clean and you could smell the birria. The dip trio was like three bowls of cheese dip, one with a few beans and one with a little chorizo. No thanks on this place. I've tried to like to it several times. The service is terrible. The atmosphere is about the same. The food is the only thing that keeps it alive for me, the combo plate is the best thing on the menu. The birria tacos themselves are fairly good as well. This spot has been lots of different places to eat over the years, but I hope this sticks! I love the location because it's walkable from the convention center. Best Quesabirria tacos I've ever had. This place is hopping with a nice vibe, especially if you like clean lines with no clutter in a trendy venue. The food is pretty good - if you like it. It is what I call "funk nouveau Latin." They fuse several popular Latin/Americanized tastes with a decidedly latin flair. Several of my work buddies really enjoy their dishes. The main issue that I see at this point is they do not have their timing worked out. Orders get backed up quickly at high times, so beware that you could spend your entire lunch hour waiting. We've done that twice so far - opening week and again about two weeks later. Hopefully they will get that worked out soon. Otherwise, that will be an issue for this new, great option for an interesting take on Latin cuisine. One more thing - we Americans have become accustomed to Chips and Salsa as a complimentary part of the meal experience at similar themed restaurants. You won't find that here! Good luck on the timing folks and enjoy your meal! I note that the food is pricey - which is where the rating of a 3 comes in. 1/10, absolutely would not recommend. My boyfriend and I stopped on a trip to Fort Smith. I ordered a margarita and it was neon green and it was by far the worst margarita ive ever had. We decided to split the nachos and that was the smallest portion of nachos i have ever seen in my life. I genuinely thought we ordered off the kids menu by accident. Tasty little Mexican restaurant on Garrison is a definite try. We stopped in for breakfast but missed it by 20 minutes so we ordered lunch. Once we ordered, it took forever to get our food, when they brought out the order, mine was wrong, by the time they brought the correct order out my wife was already done eating, and never once did they even apologize for the inconvenience. Additionally, their vent fan seems to not be on or something because the spices in the room were so bad not only us, but other patrons in their eyes were watering. If you're looking for generic food at inflated prices with a lack of service, this is the place for you. Very disappointed,was recommended to come eat here by a lot of people so I finally gave in and went with a friend, immediately the front desk lady was very rude and dry. Drinks were a 4/10 tasted watered down. Food was made fast ,but once me and my friend started eating she noticed a hair in her food we asked if they could remake it and the lady didn't even apologize just took the tray and walked away, after a while she came back out and gave us the new plate which once again had hair in it. We were excited to try this place after hearing nothing but good things, so we did over this past weekend. Two of us had the combo plate, and two of us had the quesatacos. The food was good when we ate it, but within 2-8 hours, each member of my party who ate got sick with definitely food poisoning. We know it was that because one of us didn't eat anything and they were fine, while the rest of us one by one had the same symptoms (clearly our bodies were trying to get something out of them any way they could); also, after 7+ hours of that, we each immediately were significantly better. Two of us didn't eat anything besides this that day, so could not be from another source. Now, I know these things can happen, and I don't think this will be everyone's experience when eating here (this could be just a random one-time thing by accident on account of the restaurant), but just wanted to warn others of our experience. read more
