First time try. When we pulled up, we were able to grab street parking right in front of the building. We were going to dine in so went to the left door as instructed ( right door says it's for take out only) . What was strange was that the dine in/bar side was empty- no bartender/ no customers and it was only around 9:30 ish on a Friday night Since nobody was there... we quickly elected to change doors and get take out. We were greeted then by someone asking if we wanted to dine in or take out ... thought best just to take home. We walked up to a screen to place our order ( that felt a little weird as we were greeted but ok). Order placed and the cook did his thing. Got our meal in prob under 10 min. Now for the food. The fries are good .. the chicken - tasted like it was not seasoned. I got spicy mayo and it tasted like it was poured from a bottle so that went into the trash ( chemical tasting). Chicken Sandwiches are phenomenal. Eating in is better than takeout. Cheap good drinks. If you eat there they have a good house made spicy ranch. Takeout is Ken's... The service at the bar is over the top. PJ always goes out of his way to make sure everyone feels welcome. They make sure the vibe fits who's there. We tried this place out because of the multiple positive reviews. We ordered takeout and despite them missing my 12ct nuggets. When I called, they were more than willing to have us come back. They provided extra sauces and was very apologetic for their mistake. The food was DELICIOUSLY GOOD and we will be returning in the near future. So, I came here after seeing that a local foodie I follow came and reading his review... Plus, I'm always seeking out authentic and amazing Nashville-style hot chicken (so many make hot chicken sandwiches and feel because they put commercial hot sauce on them and call them a "hot chicken sandwich" that they are - but they're simply not!). I got there right before they opened, which was my plan, as I needed to hurry and hop on a flight and they took care of me a few mins before opening. Service was very quick and efficient, taking about 10 mins total to make my meal, as they make them to order. They have several levels of heat: the basic is nothing, the next up has a cajun hot spice seasoning, the next level up has cayenne added, the next level up after that has habanero and then there's another level. I opted for the cayenne level. The meal came out piping hot... I went for the waffle fries first - OUTSTANDING!! Not sure if they do these in-house, but I've never had waffle fries done like Checkers, with a slight batter and great flavor (but not the Checkers-style seasoning). Really good! My only grip is they need a dipping sauce for them. But they did stand alone quite well. The sandwich was AMAZING!! I was shocked, it instantly reminded of the original place who started the hot chicken sandwich craze - Prince's. The seasoning is a dry seasoning, clearly added after being fried. It was heavy, not salty, but loaded with flavor! Even though I opted for the cayenne level, it wasn't hot enough to make me sweat and I typically sweat thinking about spicy food (I'm sweating now typing this!). The chicken portion was thick and was perfectly fried to not be dry, the batter was spot-on and the bun was outstanding too! The pickles were a great addition as well. Only suggestion is they make a sauce of their own for the sandwich, instead of using mayo. They recently opened this location and it looks like they're still upfitting the inside, so I ate outside, but it was a beautiful day, so no problem. They do have bottles and cans, not sure if they have the rest of their spirits yet. Highly recommend stopping in here to experience an authentic Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich! I'll most definitely be back in a couple of months to see how things are once they level out. read more

Bird on the run is the BEST chicken fingers and waffle fries I have ever had. I also love the bird sauce and the spicy mayo. I normally get the chicken fingers at the hot af spice level, but I had to try the RIP level at the mt Lebanon location. SO good. It was very hot, but I love it hot anyways. 10/10. Our waitress did warn me that it is made with Carolina reapers, but I went for it! The inside of the restaurant was cute too - this was the first location where I ate inside. They have three tables inside and a few outside. When you arrive, whether dining in or ordering to go, you use a kiosk to place your order. I found it interesting that their chicken spice levels range from 'not hot' to 'Hot AF'. I received my food within 10 minutes or less, and the price was reasonable--$14.98 for a meal and water, which might be the same or cheaper than Chick-fil-A. However, the fries and chicken were only okay; the flavor was lacking. I chose the bird sauce, but the chicken was just average. Overall, it's not something to rave about. read more

I live within walking distance (They handful of houses away), so I was hoping for a better experience, but the chicken is just not very good. My partner ordered in person and arrived at my house about a minute later. he had a chicken sandwich and fries, I had the chicken tenders. We also ordered beignets. my partner said that his sandwich was good, I didn't taste it. The chicken tenders were completely flavorless. They also were not crispy. The fries were OK. I could probably eat those again. I might be willing to give this place another try, but I honestly don't want to spend money somewhere that food comes to me with no flavor at all. I used honey dipping sauce and mixed it with Sriracha that I had in the refrigerator and even that didn't really make it better. When you're looking forward to fried chicken, it's a real bummer. Great place to dash in for a quick bite. We ordered a TON of food and everyone (including children) was happy with the options. The fish sandwich was a bit thin, but I'd order it again. The chicken sandwiches were not as spicy as expected due to the large bun, but the strips sure were (according to those that ate them). The waffle fries were better than expected, as they were hot and tasted like freshly cut potatoes-get them! The service was great as well. I've had Bird on the run a couple of times through delivery, never ate there so this is just for eating at home. Overall the food taste delicious. I get the spicier options for the chicken because I like a good kick to my food. Every time I get it the chicken is greasy( greasy enough to make the bag soaking wet). I've tried the tender and the nuggets and they both are like that. So don't get if you're trying to be a little healthy. The French fries are great. I've gotten the beignets before and they just aren't worth it, they are flavorless even with the honey packets. They need a Carmel or chocolate dipping sauce( which maybe they have if you eat them their). It's just a chicken place, nothing special. There sauces are very Good, I like the BBQ and there house made sauce. Overall greasy chicken but big portions. Another location just opened up. This location has taken the place of Zorro and prior to that Jose and Tony's. Nice area with a bar. The do have another item (fish) on the menu, not just chicken. Rally moist and tasty chicken and pick your spice level (1 - 5) but be careful, it gets hot even at #2. The waffle fries are good too. read more

I try to focus on positive reviews but out of respect for those seeking a spicy chicken sandwich, I need to say this wasn't it. I ordered an "extra hot" (2 on a scale of 0-5), and the spice was barely noticeable. Maybe they gave me a zero or one level, not sure. But the receipt said "extra hot" and not "barely hot". Also, the beignets were disappointing. They're small and not soft like you find in New Orleans. Not sure I can do any better at home but I'll give it a try. read more
