But after meeting the team at A to Z Renovations, I finally felt confident I was in good hands. They were on point, punctual, and extremely detail-oriented throughout the entire project. Every step was handled with care and clear communication. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, and I felt completely comfortable from start to finish. I honestly feel blessed to have found them. Trust is everything when you're doing a renovation, and A to Z truly delivered on every level. I highly, highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the future.

But the job they did deserves recognition. Among the many people worth a shout-out: designer Chaya Uzan whose enthusiasm and ideas gave us a sense that our project was quite special; and Robbie Goldberg, our day-to-day contact and project manager, who brought a craftsman's eye to all aspects of the job. When problems were encountered, problems were fixed. An example: once we installed a new oven in the kitchen we realized that we would have to do without a favorite built-in spice cabinet. Robbie came up with ingenious fix requiring some custom carpentry so that the spice rack did not disappear but became an integral of the whole. Anthony, our renovation expert, was our first contact with A to Z. He encouraged us not to give up on what we wanted the project to look like even though other renovators had told us it was impossible to do. He also offered to answer any questions we might have along the way. Then there's Shevy, the permit and insurance coordinator. She dealt with the necessary paperwork and kept the inspectors at bay so we did not have to deal with those headaches. And last but not least, Mario, the site manager, who was there every day, hands-on, always professional and pleasant. On that note, the entire team seemed to like one another and treated us and each other with a refreshing degree of decency and consideration. To summarize: The team at ATOZ was thoroughly professional and kept us informed with clear, consistent communication every step of the way. Importantly, the team worked efficiently to stay on schedule and were fair when an unexpected issues arose, providing clear solutions. The final result is exceptional, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend ATOZ to anyone.

In August 2017 we hired Whitestone Contracting to do a complete renovation of our kitchen and…read moremaster bathroom. Our COOP required a number of permits and insurances to do the work in the building and Rene was able to provide all of them. Upon completion of the project we experienced a problem with the construction of the bathroom floor. The tile floor was put in a full inch and a half below the toilet flange. This gross oversight that made it impossible to install a toilet. It cost me an additional $700 to bring in a plumber to repair their mishap! A year and a half later in February 2019 we began to experience a number of problems with the tiles that were installed in the bathroom. The tiles in the shower wall where the fixtures are located began sinking into the wall. There were also a number of tiles on the adjoining walls that were becoming loose. The grout in between these tiles began falling out. I was concerned that the water from the shower would get behind the tiles and we would experience mold! I contacted Rene and he came to inspect the work that was done in the shower. He had no explanation of how this could have happened. It was quite obvious though, the workers didn't use nearly enough cement to adhere the tiles to the newly constructed walls. A cost cutting short cut for sure! A date was set to make the repairs. Since I did not have any leftover tiles he asked me to procure some more tiles and he would reimburse me. I stayed home from work while they made the repairs. It was a good thing I did because I found the workers trying to reattach tiles that were chipped. I pointed this out to them and they recut them before being installed. About 7 months later we began finding a whole new batch of tiles in the bathroom coming loose. After several weeks of reaching out to Whitestone I received a number of excuses why they were unavailable to come back again to do more repairs. I remained persistent and continued to call, in order to hold them to task. We finally set a date and they were actually very helpful. They even took it upon themselves to pick up the tiles and provided all supplies. I regret not being able to be home that day from work to oversee what was going on. Even though the tiles seemed firmly affixed several of the tiles installed are chipped and uneven. At the end of the day we are stuck with a job that shows a complete lack of attention to detail and workmanship. In the days that followed I sent a number of texts and emails to try to get an explanation of the unsatisfactory work. I only received a text from Rob saying how he was sorry and would address it with his guys on Monday and that he would call me. I never received any call. In addition, I was never reimbursed for the tiles I had to pick up from the first repair. After two years of living with Whitestone's lack of professionalism I am left feeling like my only recourse would be to pursue this in small claims court. As the pictures show for the thousands of dollars we paid for our bathroom this is not an example of a professional installation. Based on my terrible experience it would behoove you to stay away from these guys.

Rob and his team were professional, courteous, clean and reliable. Rob even took time to go shopping with me to educate me on certain materials, appliances, etc. The house came out stunning, and seven months later I have no problems. They also had references for electricians, plumbers etc. Thank you Whitestone!

Become a watchdog, even if it means taking time off of work and your life!…read more I am a single parent with children and elderly family that I am responsible for. After many years of hard work and having experienced many trials and tribulations, I was finally able to purchase my own home. The only catch is that I needed to take on a major renovation project that was bank financed. At the tune of approximately $90,000, I took on the renovation challenge. Their work may LOOK good, but the question to ask yourself is whether the work really IS good? Make sure that you put all of your expectations to paper by way of a contract, but beware because they may not follow it! You need to watch them like a hawk to make sure that they are not skimping on anything. I suggest regularly being on site while they are working on the project, even if it means taking extended time off work. If you're a woman, I suggest having a knowledgeable man regularly around too. It will be worth it. It wasn't until I actually occupied the home that a multitude of shoddy work presented itself. We agreed on insulation throughout, but they skipped that in various sections which resulted in drafts and a serious lack of natural soundproofing that comes with any basic insulation. My energy costs are far more than the norm as a result. We agreed on wired smoke alarms. I realized that is not what I had when they took their turns chirping away which was their way of asking for new batteries. We agreed on structural reconciliation but what I got were ceilings, floors and walls that became uneven. I don't even want to talk about the flood that was caused by their bad plumber and resulted in damage to my new home. We DID NOT agree on removal of the second bathroom, but with the complete renovation, I ended up with just one bathroom, when I started with 1 1/2. There are other issues, but at the end of it all, their work was not good value. If you watch these renovation shows on TV, it won't take long for you to realize that you didn't get what you paid for, or in my case am paying for a 30 year term. Most of their work will not last that long. I actually am having to pay twice as a lot of their work will need to be corrected. The property brothers get better results on more square footage with 40,000 than these guys did on my little house with 90,000. It took these guys over 3 months to do what others would have done in less than 2. To add insult to injury, not only do they lie, cheat and steal, they argue incessantly and will inappropriately try to use your family or anyone else against you when they know they are wrong and doing things that are not in accordance with your contract. They will also try to convince you that they have done you favors. I was not the first person they did some of these things too and probably won't be the last. I believe that they are some of the most insensitive and disingenuous modern day crooks in the city. I suffered tremendously when all I expected was a good honest job. They also become defensive when you call them on their faults. This is not how you do business DAF and please don't send me anymore Christmas Cards.

These guys are professionals and they are honest and reliable. Seems like a low bar, but the truth is I've been unfortunate enough to have experienced a nightmare renovation with a terrible contractor so I was putting this renovation off until i had no choice but to move forward with it. I simply didn't want to have the same experience I had before. I found them through Angie's list and they were very prompt with setting up a meeting to get a quote, they were on time, they were open and honest about the job, and probably most importantly, I got a good vibe from Vigan, the owner. After having considered other quotes, I knew Batusha was the way to go. I messaged him and off we went. He sent me a digital image of what the deck job would look like when finished, he sent me his plans to stop the flooding in my basement with the sump pumps, and I approved it, and the work started. The work was done in a timely manner, he was always in constant communication, and he delivered exactly what was promised. The quality of the work is excellent and there were no corners cut. The pricing was absolutely fair, and I will 100% use him again for my future renovations. Once you find a contractor you can trust, that becomes your guy. Vigan is my guy going forward.

He is a great communicator and the work was completed in a reasonable amount of time on a consistent schedule. I would recommend working with Vigan and I would work with him again.
