All the employes i've talked and worked with have been helpful, clean, intelligent and considerant. You can sit down and wait, which isn't very long, rather then stand in long lines. I am always impressed with how precise and gentle Parker is when he inserts the needle in my arm, I barely feel a thing! He is also very knowledgeable and always friendly. You would never know if he is having a bad day because he never shows it, he makes sure you have a pleasant experience. Was not impressed. The facilities seem old and depressing. They said it'd be 3 hours to donate. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because they technically get the job done, but i wouldnt recommend it over the other guys. The only reason to not go elsewhere is the location. If you live in Boise and don't have a car then this place is at least accessible. If you can drive though, go elsewhere. read more

So embarrassed and disappointed. I was not allowed to donate because I live in a "trailer park". I live in a mobile home (not a trailer) in a nice park. I am a good, clean, neat person, have a full time job and pay my taxes. This made me feel like a second rate citizen. I worked for the Red Cross for years and this was never an issue for the donors. The rule needs to be changed. Just wrong. It really made me feel bad about myself. If I could give no stars I would. read more

I've been donating here for 5 years now. It pains me knowing I must leave this review. But, it is apparent to me this location does not care much about friendliness and professionalism. The decline has been gradually getting worse over the years. The staff here are rude, quick to argue, have passive aggressive tendencies, and unapologetically mess your arms up without a care in the world! They are under paid and most don't care much about their jobs. I only donate here after every 6 months for new donor fees. Otherwise it's biolife. No one should be subjected to the disrespectful behavior of this facility's staff members I've seen go on over the years I've donated here. read more

People here are really chill. If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. You get the most money here vs all the other donation centers.

I am not saying do not go in here if you need the cash, I am just saying do not expect to be treated like a human being with a brain. I have been doing this for a while now, I have seen some serious attitude problems with some of the people that work here. Makes me sick to look at them actually and I sit there waiting and hoping I do not get selected to have to be stuck by one of them. some of the people that work here think they know everything and your opinion means squat. I suspect they are entry level and because they have a whit smock on they have some sort of power that no one else can possess. I have been injured on purpose for stating an opinion just before getting stuck. interestingly enough, most of the people that work here are fairly nice but the 5 or 6 that are not ruin it for everyone. These people go through a minimal training an then get out on the floor and work for 11 dollars an hour. It is ridiculous that any of them get a "High and Mighty" complex but it does happen. One little Male in particular is so annoying that it takes everything I have in me to keep my composure, I say Little cause he is so small I am positive he has to shop in the little boys section of wal mart for clothes. Classic little man complex. as for going by the book, most of these workers do, after you have donated 30+ times, If you are a decent observer, you will notice who does go by the book and who does not and who the "CREATIVE WRITERS" are. by that I mean they cover their own asses in paperwork so that their name does not come up for review. I can also tell that the workers are not treated well by the upper management and that there is a Hard core line as deeply drawn as the one between the actual donors and the floor staff. Payment for your donation is a Joke really, you get 20.00 for the first time you come on a 7 day period and 35.00 for the second day. You donate twice in one 7day period and you get 55.00 this will take up approx 5 hours of your time for both donations if you do not have any complications. it can take longer occasionally and sometimes if everything goes really well, less time. if your veins are not easily see-able, prepare for some bad days, there are excellent stickers here and there are CRAPPY ONES, serious pain can occur from a bad stick. they will dig around in your arm till they get the vein and they can mess it up where you will not be able to donate for weeks on that arm sometimes. also, I have noticed that some of the staff will blame you for the goof ups, some of the staff do not realize that they are being watched, that their mannerisms are being taken into consideration and that they are being evaluated as human beings while they are working, this is because they do not think of the donors as human beings, that is unless your some cute little girl, you should see how the dudes in there rush to their aid. OK here is another bit of BS, #1. the pay is low for donations, it's as low as it was in the 1980's. I am not joking. - in the 80's the pay was the same but they also gave you bonuses for being a good donor and coming in on a reg basis and all that, 50.00 here and there just as a bonus on top of your reg pay out. also they had contests and drawings and feeling of ( I know this sounds funny) but a feeling of family. NOW they do report to have drawings but they never say when anything is won, I have never known anyone to have won anything and no one will tell me how they pay out, the guy that pays you after you donate is CLUELESS and he will tell you he is clueless when you ask. NO JOKE, i suspect they do not ever complete a drawing, they claim they do not announce a winner because of confidentiality. one of the clues I have to prove my theory is the fact that when they post a drawing - they sometimes forget to take the post down for weeks after it's supposedly over. then they will post another one that started 2 weeks earlier. most of the drawings contingencies have to do with how many times you donate in a single month. I have heard the the company can profit up to 2400.00 from one donation of a qualified donor, the process takes up to a year and ends in Italy. so under the best circumstances 2400.00 X 2 per week per donor. by profit i mean the cost of the items that are made with the plasma are VERY expensive. Incredibly high. anyway, you get paid crap, you get treated Ok at best on most occasions but like crap on some and that ruins the ones that are OK. and If you need the 255.00 a month you get from doing this you will do it anyway, I am writing this cause It pisses me off that the treatment of people cannot be better. I mean for god's sakes, they do not even have any food or drinks for people who get dizzy and feel faint unless they are about to barf on the floor in the back room. I have never seen a donation place that didn't have a table with at least cookies and juice on it for after you donate. It's sad. read more

I have been participating in plasma donation with biomat for the better part of 3 yrs. Being that I've had a fear of needles before I was sceptic to it at first. Blue donor with the heb b vaccine have over 500 donations since 2011. Been going here 6 years recently took a break since the end of august as I work full time and my body needed a break. retured the end of January 4 months from my last donation to be informed I wont be a blue donor anymore no new aplicants. how is that for 6 years loyal service and over 500 donations. Discusted and will not be returning again. constant punctures as well I always had to request the senior floor staff as to not have my arm turn purple read more

The amount they pay has just been drastically reduced, I don't recommend this place at all. I just stopped donating there because it is no longer worth the hassle. They also run fake contests/promotions. Recently, they had a school supply drive and everyone who brought in supplies got a chance to win 1 of 5 gift cards. They never gave out a single gift card and the issue just quietly went away. I chose to donate directly to a school because I know Biomat runs fake promotions. Also, never got a confirmation that the school supplies other people donated were actually given to any charity/school. They did the same thing on previous promotions where people had to comment on a facebook post to win. Nobody won those either. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where they are more straightforward and honest. read more

I am a medical professional that had been occasionally donating at BioLife until a peer told me to stop fearing the appearance of the BioMat facility and to compare the service delivered by the BioMat staff. I completely agree. BioMat staff is always friendly without the stench of BioLife employee attitude. Miss Adele is wrong in her assessment of the cliental: there are ALL types of people patronizing BOTH donations centers. read more

I had been going to biolife for 6 months and only switched because I didn't like the commute from Boise to meridian. Turns out that was a mistake because I've been disappointed here with every visit. The facility is severely unorganized and cramped. They pay just as much on a weekly basis as biolife, but you spend up to 1-2 hours sitting around waiting, cramped between several strangers with no breathing room. Not sure if they're just extremely understaffed or what, but either way it's unacceptable. At my most recent visit, I sat in the lobby for 1 1/2 hours before I was seated for my physical. When I was finally allowed back, I waited another 30 minutes for them to actually seat me in a chair! I didn't even get hooked up for another 20 minutes, and after 40 minutes of donating and 10 minutes for them to discharge me, I was fed up. What I thought would be an 1.5 hour donation turned into over 3 hours. Ridiculous. No one cares how long you're there, and are obviously there just to get through the day. The only reason I'm sticking it out through the end of the month is because of their monthly promotion, which I need to pay for food and gas and my other living expenses as a college student. GO TO BIOLIFE! TRUST ME, IT IS WORTH IT. read more

I donated here for the first time the other day and I would agree with Daniel about the staff in the back room. They were definitely on the verge of cold and robotic. I felt that the front house staff was a little more friendly, but overall there was no wow-factor, but honestly does there need to be? You donating plasma, your getting paid for it and you have plenty of televisions to watch. If it is your first time, be prepared to be there for a while. Even if your a repeat donator, bring a book or something to occupy your time. read more

What a wonderful experince!!!! I have never donated plasma before and really had no idea what it was really used for. The people at this center are very nice, helpful, and so willing to answer any questions you have. The first time takes a little longer then the rest but i brought my ipad and there were also movies playing and interesting people to meet and talk with. They even compensate you for your time spent. Please go and save a life and remember to eat and drink lots of water before (thats what they told me). read more

I wanted to donate so I first asked how long I needed to wait since last tattoo, and they were very vague. I made an appointment for the following Monday and one of the first things they mentioned was my tattoo. They said I needed to get paperwork from the tattoo shop stating when I got the tattoo, and what their sterilization process was. I spent the following week trying to get the paperwork and once I had it I went back to Biomat to make sure it was good. The girl basically said I was a liar and had made the paperwork myself. I am an honest person, after all I was honest about when I got the tattoo in the first place. If I was going to lie I would have lied about when I got the tattoo. If you do not mind being treated like you are dirt, go ahead and donate, but be ready to waste a lot of time, and if you got a tattoo in the last 12 months, you might want to lie about that or be prepared to waste a lot more time trying to get paperwork that satisfies a bunch of self-righteous jerks. read more

no rush... That seems to be there motto! It could be a good thing in the donation area but in the front it takes a while to get thru! My heart rate was to high by 1bpm and I waited half an hour to get it checked again. The wifi never seems to work either and for a student WiFi is crutial. There are about two employees in the back who make donations brutal by doing nothing but complaining but there's about 2 who balance it out. read more

Every time I go in they are quiet and rude. Most of the girls that work here are stuck up. There is a guy named Stuart that always screws up. Because of him, my husbands arm where they stick the needle has a huge round ball type thing. He kept sticking me wrong and I was bleeding all over the floor. read more

The money is great but the wait is not. Wish we could take a number or something. You sit endlessly. Takes about 3 hrs. Bad TV on. Another is opening on Eagle Rd & I hope service will be quicker. The employees who worked on me were nice. The clientele in the waiting room not friendly. Guess being down on your luck makes them keep to themselves. read more
