My wife and I visited this location today. The front desk lady in blue was very kind but her Boss Amber while walking by, not making it confidential and speaking loudly telling us that my wife cannot be there next to me while I'm giving my information "Privacy reasons". And then says again loudly to my wife "Sit of there in the chairs". The other 3 employees were awesome! Amber truly ruined the experience for me! Not sure if I will return!!! read more

I have been trying to donate since 2017 it took 7 years for them to finally tell me that I just have to go talk to my doctor about getting cleared and now I have to wait for their position to sign off on the paper which could take possibly another week I would like to donate because it's a great way to help people and make a quick buck but I am overall infuriated with the process and sick and tired of waiting and waiting for I don't know what read more

Staff is great the procedure is thorough and you know exactly what to expect they walk you through everything the first time you go in they will answer any of my concerns the only complaint I have is it is slow it takes 2 hrs to finish but it's not there fault they are understaffed and there are alot of people donating here I really enjoy coming here it is a great place where I feel the care is exceptional and staff actually engage in conversation and make it like you are a person not just a job for them read more

Drove Hour and a half three days in a row. They said I needed to push water. I drank a 24 pack of water day before donating. Blood readings were the same went directly to my doctor. The doctor said their full of S*it ur absolutely fine the readings he got were infinitely lower. And I said well could those go down in a half hours time. Doctor said no take 24 hrs for those reading to fluctuate. Over the crap! With gas prices and having to drive as far as I do. It's not worth it toe anymore. Compensation is garbage! read more

This is a plasma donation business. You can go two times in 7 days. The first time you get $20 and the second time of the week you get $45. I don't go that often because I don't need the money and I hate needles. The process takes about 30 minutes to an hour depending on your weight. When I do go, I am often bored and have nothing better to do, so why not help by donating plasma for people that need it and make a little extra cash? The employees are good, but i have been with some that seemed undertrained, as they poked by arm wrong a few times with the needle. That is very painful. I now ask to be with an experienced employee. Overall, I wouldn't come here brag much because although they say it's completely healthy, one wonders... But it's good extra money if you happen to need it! read more

My girlfriend donates plasma here frequently as an easy way to make a quick buck. I usually tag along to drive her there and back, when you first walk into the doors (if you're a first time donor) you'll be greeted by an unfriendly and unhelpful receptionist who'll ask you to provide your social security card and drivers license and a piece of mail with your current address on it to set up your appointment and physical. If you're lucky you'll be able to book an appointment right away but most likely not. On your appointment you'll have a physical with all the standard check ups. I was very surprised that the nurse I was situated with was very very nice. You then stand in a line to get your finger poked. Your heart rate has to at a normal level otherwise you can't donate. They then take you to the back of the building where all the life saving happens (you won't actually be saving any lives until your second appointment) you're then stuck with a large needle attached to a machine (don't go if you can't handle that) that takes the plasma out of your blood and pumps your blood back in. This is generally safe when there are qualified people performing the procedure but biolife employees receive on the job training and make lots of mistakes generally due to improper medical techniques. A lot can go wrong while donating including air bubbles in the machines. If an air bubble occurs the machine shuts off and the employees have to get the bubble out and restart the machine... if done improperly you could get an air bubble in your bloodstream which is fatal if not treated quickly. Donating frequently will make you sick and could even cause a premature natural death. The red cross recommends donations only once a month and biolife centers allow them twice a week which will significantly harm your immune system. Besides these risks this specific biolife neglects to inform you of the risks accompanied by frequent donations, the staff is incredibly disrespectful and undertrained put all together you get an uncomfortable experience for trying to help save lives. I have been coming here to Waterloo Iowa Biolife for Approximatelly 4 years now. Well I started about the time this facility opened.The staff here are some of the best around bar none. They are all friendly and make me feel down right comfortable about donating here. I have never had a question of mine go unanswered to my satisfaction so I could completely understand. There are times some of them may not smile all the time but it is probably because they take this job very seriously. They are all very good at it and I actually look forward to my donating. Not just for the money I get but I enjoy talking with all the employees. I just love their nursing staff too. They all make me feel comfortable and care about my health. I won't stop donating till I'm too old and told I can't do it any more. And I can't leave out the Management staff here. They are awesome also. read more

This place has the worst cleaning company ever.. I was in this center today(12/22/16). I could visibly see dust on the picture frames and under the chairs. The ceiling tiles and air vents were black (like it hasn't been cleaned from the day they opened the center.) I just so happened to need to use the restroom (wish I hadn't) there was Brown stuff all over the sinks and counters.. Then I went into the stall and (i kidd you not) there was at least 1-1.5 inches of dust/dirt and who knows what else on the base of the toliet and floor around the toliet. And it stinks so bad in there, I had to go hame and take a shower.. I don't know who they have as a cleaning company but They new some one new... read more

The staff is courteous, polite and professional. The very first time i donated a supposed supervisor bruised me up so bad i could not donate for 2 weeks. Then if you happen to have told the nursing staff about what I believe to be ANY minor issue they will make a mountain out of a molehill and stop your ability to donate for week(s) while they clear it first with your doctor and their doctor. Their doctor doesn't come in but twice a week and it always seems to be the most inconvenient time to delay your donations for days or weeks longer. This last occasion I was cleared the week before, and started donating on Monday, but by Wednesday, which is when they pay more for the second donation, they just happened to find a problem with my paperwork and just so happened to have found this problem after their doctor had left to be gone for yet another week. The timing was soo terribly convenient to prevent my second, better paid donation, that it seemed to have been purposefully orchestrated. So i said, well, since I technically shouldn't have donated on Monday, that plasma donation should be destroyed, well, they replied it will be quaranteened until after the paperwork is signed off on. So I said, let me donate and quaranteen that donation as well, no we cant allow that, and of course their doctor won't be back until the next week. I don't think it's an accident the nurses don't say their name, or you don't just get to work with one specific nurse, pass it around so things can get lost in the shuffle. Then they tell me not to call them, they'll call me, turns out they never even tried to call me back, they also had the wrong phone number for me, glad I didn't listen to that request. So I said, you've told me it's illegal to buy my plasma, so you pay me for my time. Well I said I had been cleared to donate, I took my time going up their, starting the process, talking to nurses, compensate me for my time, well compensation is only permitted upon a successful donation, so aren't you paying me for my plasma? I was going to say 3 star but decided two star, Complaint because of their excessive rules, not only from the nursing staff, but you can also be deferred daily donations because of a myriad of minor issues like High heart beat, too much fat in your blood, blood pressure too high, some level of something too much in your blood,and probably more I'm not even aware. because of their excessive rules not only from the nursing staff, but you can also be deferred daily donations because of a myriad of minor issues. read more
