I was nervous to come here and had been postponing my first visit due to all the reviews, but thankfully I didn't have a poor experience. I came for my new donor physical and was there for about 3 hours. The staff were very transparent and informed new donors it could be up to a 4-hour visit to get through all of the stages of checking in/completing questionnaire/physical exam/donating. I had an 8am appt and left at 11am, but I also had to end my donation early due to an unexpectedly bad vasovagal reaction :( Overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful. At the start when I checked in, they first had me go to do a vein check to ensure I'd have suitable veins; she stated she didn't want me to go through all the steps just to be turned away at the chair, stating she wanted to respect my time which I really appreciated. The nurse who completed my physical was thorough and personable, offering me an ensure drink and beef jerky as well. My phlebotomist was quick with the puncture and didn't have to do any "digging", as I do have deeper veins. She did a great job. I was just over halfway done with my donation when my BP dropped. I immediately notified staff I was dizzy and they were very quick to respond and get me ice packs & saline, and they tried to talk to me to help distract me. It truly felt like they cared and were concerned. After I was disconnected, I stayed 15 mins for observation with their nurse and she was so reassuring (as I was a bit embarrassed). She encouraged me to return and to not let this deter me from donating in the future. She provided recommendations & tips for a successful donation. During this time, they provided me with goldfish and an electrolyte drink packet to mix in water, rather than their Gatorade. It does get incredibly busy here with long lines, so it's understandable that wait times can vary. Not their fault - they were doing the best they can to be time efficient. They didn't appear to be understaffed as they had a full team on the floor, it just seems like there's more demand for donors than there are seats. From what I could tell, they disinfect very thoroughly between patients. I just wish they had stress balls to squeeze, as they just have you pump your hand into a fist. I'm hoping to try again and have a successful full donation next time. read more

See some of the pics above, posted by others, for some prime examples of their work - aside from their complete lack of bedside manner. Bonus - if they call you on the phone, there's a good chance they'll call your emergency contact instead and leave a message as if they are speaking to the client. Not sure I would recommend. They only accept you by appointment now. No walk-ins. They require you to have an available vein on both arms and tried to turn me away because I don't have a good vein in my right arm. They said it was just about the same size as the needle and that could pose a problem if there's a complication and they have to give me my blood back. But I also would not ever let them use my right arm because the last time I was there, they did it wrong and gave me a huge hematoma. I had an appointment scheduled for 12:55 PM, but the experience was frustrating from the moment I walked in. The finger scan system was dirty and barely working, and it took staff about five minutes just to get me into the system so I could start the questionnaire. After completing the questionnaire, I then had to wait another 15-20 minutes, and during that time a line started forming out the door. It was very clear that the location was short-staffed and poorly organized. There didn't seem to be any real structure--people were being moved around randomly, and no one appeared to be managing the flow. Honestly, what's the point of making an appointment if you're still going to wait 30 minutes to nearly an hour just to be seated? The lack of organization and staffing made the entire visit stressful and inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend coming to this location unless major improvements are made. read more

it was my first time. A lot of people were very nice to me and the process was overall smooth. I started by walking in giving them some information about myself then they did a finger prick to assess my labs. Also, while I was there, they got my weight and height and fingerprints. The physical was pretty much self-explanatory and the survey that I did was super easy and took me less than 10 minutes to do on the computer after my physical they took me to the donation area. They had an easy time, finding the veins in my right arm, but not my left. When I did end up sitting down about to get poked for them to draw my blood, I will say the only problem was that the woman who was about to stick the needle into me was very shaky and usually I wouldn't say anything because I understand, but it kind of scared me and I am really used to being poked and prodded. I was a little nervous, but a lot of people were checking up on me as they were coming through the area and the whole donation process took may be an hour. read more

Refused to answer my question over the phone. I called and left a message on Tuesday after researching if a medication I'm taking would disqualify me. On Google it said it can be a reason to be declined. My appointment was Thursday and I hadn't received a call back so I cancelled my appointment. I didn't get a call back until Sunday. When I asked if this specific medication would disqualify me, I was advised they will let me know at my onboarding appointment. Onboarding appointments take 4hrs, I'm not going to waste 4 hrs of my time just to be declined when the information could have been provided upfront. If it disqualifies me simply say that so the time slot can be utilized by someone else. If the medication does not disqualify me, say that. It's really not that hard. My time is too valuable to sit somewhere for 4hrs without any kind assurance that I may be able to donate. read more

People are friendly and the facility is modern and clean (with the exception that one of the two bathrooms is pretty much always out of service). I have lowered my rating due to the increase in understaffing and overbooking that has resulted in pretty much doubling the time required for a basic donation. I use to be able to complete the process from walking in the door to leaving in about an hour, now it generally takes two hours. At the same time payments are lower than they use to be. In the past they'd pay $120-$140 per week for two donations. Now it's $110-$115. Between the time spent and the reduced payments compensation has been reduced from approximately $60/hour to less than $30/hour. Between the time and gas money spent getting there and back, the doubling of the time you're stuck there, and the reduced payments, it's not nearly as rewarding for the donor. I like that my plasma is helping others, but plasma companies are for-profit businesses that make large profits off donations and they seem to be increasing those profits by reducing compensation to the donors who are literally the lifeblood of the business. read more

My sister in law went 2 days ago at the florin location and received $120 for first visit. I was under the impression I would receive the same. I looked online at the website and it said receive $800 for the first month, but when I went in they said it would be $650 IF I did all 8 donations within the month...I waited 4 hours before I was finally able to donate just to find out I was getting $70! I would have stayed home at that point. Why would one center pay different than another? Some staff very friendly the other half ehhh.. they take appts ONLY, and you still have to wait in line for about an hour 1/2 or so,they a very picky with how to plasma looks on the sample if it looks off to them they will defer you for the day, On top of that goodluck finding an atm to withdrawal your funds. More than Half of the moneypass atms don't even accept the card they give you. Save yourself the trouble and just go with CSL PLASMA they take walk ins and they are very friendly, First 5 donations are all $100, also their card works with all credit unions and you are able to take out your funds completely with no charge. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME GOING HERE. Really bummed out about everything. read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This place has been in decline for months and only getting worst. First staff (female staff) is over worked. They are super friendly and kind, but they are so busy. Many have left and they haven't been replaced. Who would want to work long hours for crappy pay? Second male staffers all they do is talk non stop instead of doing their work. The first time you go in they tell you process shouldn't take longer than an hour. Lies! You are there for 2-4 hours waiting. They overbook themselves all the time and they do not have a good rotation during lunchtime so many times the intake spots are empty and there is huge line. You know for sure the company is making bank from your donation and all they can offer is 90 dlls a week and bad service. i've been donating for a few months now, however, what I've noticed is when your process of donation has completed in the sound goes off to alert them that you need to be disconnected, they take forever! To complete this process, I sat there, and it rang seven times, no one even flinches, and then I find that I can't return because there's a blood clot when they pulled out the needle, doesn't sound safe. This is the second time this is happened, and it happens when they prolong the disconnect once the donation has completed. I've donated around five times so far, and have had courteous, professional service each time. The entire process has been as fast as 55 minutes and as long as four hours on my first visit. There are always lines, but they move along pretty well. On my first visit, staff took the time to explain each step, and I appreciated the information. My pro tips are to bring your own stress ball to squeeze during the donation and also a heavy sweater/jacket to throw over yourself--when they put saline back in at the end of the donation, you'll get cold! read more

I have donated plasma for a while now with BioLife- at least since the Roseville location had opened this summer. I took a hiatus a while back and decided it was time to begin donating again. Being in the ArdenMarconi area I found this location. I had an appointment on the books I was not actually seated for about an hour after vitals Process began 15 minutes or so after that. Either they were short staffed or still working through some of the kinks. Perhaps a fluke? I went back two days later (today) and again I had an appt at 9:35 I was finally making my donation around 1:35 and they did not appear to be that busy. Given that this location is closest to my soon to be new house I know I will be coming back, just hope that some of the workflows become more established over time. However, I will say that the staff is super friendly and willing to help one another which is always refreshing to see. read more

They allow donors to schedule appointments, but that does require seem to mean anything. What should be an hour and thirty minutes to an hour and forty-five minutes max took me 3 hours last night even with an appointment. They need to have a faster process for those with appointments versus walk-ins or they need to provide additional compensation when the process takes that long. With drive time, one donation should not take 4 hours! read more

The worst plasma donation I've ever been to. I didn't even finish my intake when they proceeded to inspect my arms and veins (note: I've been a plasma donor for 8+ years and never had an issue). The tech said the vein on my left arm was great but she would need a second opinion for my right arm, the second assistant on crutches at that came limping around the corner and put so much pressure on my right arm to "find my vein" and said I would not ever be able to donate because they can't find my vein. I've never ever had an issue with donating in my many years of doing so at bloodsource. Very understaffed and the staff they do have is slow, no urgency to get your donations completed in a timely manner. The last 3 times I been I walk in and walk out because the lines are insane so not only do I waste my time driving to the location I also waste so much gas. They require you to make a appointment however it doesn't apply to them. You will wait over a hour after your appointment time before you even get into the chair and wait another 30 minutes before they hook you up to the machine and after your donation is complete you will wait another 30 minutes before someone acknowledges you and disconnects you. This location needs a better system, staff that actually cares about the donors time, and better management. I don't recommend this place if you have a life and can't spend 3+ hours waiting read more
