QUALITY Donor Service I dont see why there are so many bad reviews! Ive been frequenting this location specifically because of their quality of service. Since last year! Amazing team here at 1960 yall! i Always feel safe and secure with the phlebotomists/pokers. The type of care they provide is what should be displayed at every Biolife location. Just a note (bring back the music!) (bring back the radio) It feels like dead silence and aching souls in here. Very Depressing lol. Since my first day here these folks have never failed me. When i requested a different phlebotomist for a better and painless poke they did not hesitate a bit to send me one of the OGs. Thank you Biolife 1960 Team. -Santangelo Balli Gonzales

    Worst plasma center ever!

This place has the worst staff and treat potential new donors like CRAP!!!! Everyone from front desk workers, fake nurses, so called Managers are ignorant acting & unprofessional! The nurses who prescreen donors play favorites! Some are obviously Racist as well towards melanin skin tone donors. They play ratchet loud rap music with offensive profanity in the lyrics. They stand around rolling their eyes, gossiping about donors and potential new ones. They don't even deserve 1 star!!!! I recommend GRIFOLS BIOMAT PLASMA CENTERS! Not perfect but EXTRAORDINARY & leaps and bounds above this trash establishment!

This is my very first time donating plasma. My good friend does it regularly so I thought I'd do my part to help our community as well. The parking lot was full when I pulled up so I knew it would be busy. I was warmly greeted by Amanda at the front desk. She checked my temp and signed me in. I had a bit of wait before I was seen, but I totally get it. It was a full, busy day. She processed my identifications and got me all set up in their system. Off to the next station to get my finger pricked! The phlebotomist was nice enough. Long story short, I was unable to donate. Not their fault. They have strict guidelines. I get it. So, I will have to try another day. The only reason I am giving 4 stars, not 5 is because I noticed the phones were ringing off the hook and weren't being answered. One person said he kept trying to call but no one answered. Perhaps a dedicated person answering the phone line would expedite the process? Anyway, other than that, my experience was fine. I hope I will be able to donate next time.

    First time donating!

Pay more for donations. And not mess with the needles as much. All around I wouldn't go if I didn't need the cash

The donation process has always gone smoothly and that's in large part to the friendly staff. They make it so easy and my favorite part is the excellent drinks and snacks they give you before and after. Everyone should come donate and if you do you should come here!

I scheduled an appointment the next day for my blood to be drawn after explaining my situation to the manager of Gulf Coast Blood she told me my orders had not been received yet but I could come in either way and they would be able to draw my blood with or without the orders. When I get there the next day they check me in and after reviewing the check in info I filled out earlier that day the told me I could not donate since I was on the antibiotics the doctor who referred me prescribed. They told me until they received the orders from the doc they could not proceed since I was on medication. Ann (the medical assistant) was absolutely no help so I asked to speak to her manager who was even less helpful. I asked if they could call my doctor to obtain verbal consent and they told me no. When I asked what the difference was if I had the orders I would still be on the meds and the manager told me they would take it but discard it instead of donating, so I said ok let's do that now this is for my health reasons not for donation purposes and she said they could not do it since I did have the doctors consent. They were very unprofessional and did not even attempt to help.

tl;dr - this is the most expensive way I've found to give your blood to someone who may or may not…read morebe a medical professional. The Yelp Deal: If you purchase this Yelp deal, you are only getting $10 off. It is NOT paying for a treatment. You will be charged another $99 when you go (total charge of $189 for a service that is normally $199). Also, double check the 5-star reviews - most are more than two years old and posted by people with few friends and even fewer reviews. Booking online: As soon as you book online via their website, you'll receive a phone call from someone confirming the appointment and asking if you have any questions. Keep in mind that the website does not mention how much services are going to cost unless you pre-pay with PayPal. So, I booked online with the pay later option then got the Yelp deal thinking I was covered for the treatment. Cost of the treatment is not a question I would have thought to ask the person confirming my appointment. Check in: You fill out some paper work and sign a few documents. Nothing too terrible or time consuming. Keep in mind that I arrived at my appointment 30 mins early and got into the room 10 mins early. At no time during the check-in process was I told how long the treatment would take but based on my research online, I had planned about 30 minutes. Consultation: Courtney took me to a private room and because I thought I was talking to a medical professional on my first visit, I went into a quick recap of what I was hoping to accomplish with these treatments. Courtney was overwhelmed by more than, "I'll take the vitamin bag" and called in Kirk to talk to me and to make me a custom bag. STOP SCANNING - THIS PART IS IMPORTANT: At this point in the visit, it still hasn't occurred to me how easily I'm convinced that people wearing scrubs are medical professionals and now that I think about it, at no point in this process was anyone referred to as a Doctor. Blood work: You sign a document that says you understand that blood work needs to be done prior to IV Treatment but the fact that they don't tell you what they're checking for (besides blood count) makes me very, very uncomfortable. They have your blood by your consent and you have no idea what they're going to do with it or who they are going to send it to. My anxiety takes me to a place where my blood results are now going to be sold with my credit score on the dark web or used in some sort of cloning experiment funded by ancestry.com. Seriously, I just gave them my blood with absolutely no follow up questions? I'm an idiot. The treatment: Courtney brings in a bag of yellow fluid and tells me that the chair I'm sitting in can recline if I want it to. I confirm that it should take about 30 mins and he says, "maybe 45." BTW, it took my bag an hour to drain. He checked on me a couple of times but only offered me a call button at the end of my treatment... to let him know when the bag was empty. If you decide to do this, please remember to ask for a blanket beforehand. I didn't realize how cold the fluids would be going into your body and of course that temperature is going to end up throughout your entire body. They did not offer a blanket or water or anything except the Counting Crows Pandora channel to listen to while I was in the room. An hour of the Counting Crows channel on Pandora. Please remember to bring your headphones. Check out: When I complained about the wait time, the new admin at the front desk told me to ask for the short bag next time. Seriously? Next time? Why wasn't that an option given to me THE FIRST TIME?! For those of you still convinced you want to do this, please (for me), ask for a blanket and the short bag. And if you could find out what they're doing with our blood, that would be fantastic. Also, she didn't know how to ring up the Yelp deal because I'm apparently the only person who has ever fallen for it. I arrived 30 mins early and was there for an hour and 40 mins in the middle of my work day. Considering their hours of operation, the cost, and the wait time - this is clearly not a service targeted to anyone who works regular business hours or (let's face it) even works at all. If this review saves one person $199... I'll feel way better than I did after this treatment. Let's talk about how I feel: Like someone who wasted money paying the tab for someone they just spent two unproductive hours with and who they are never going to call again. And two hours later, my urine is the same color as the fluid they had in the bag. Coincidence? Bonus: While I was impressed (and maybe a little hurt) that they didn't try to upsell me to anything else they were selling in the building (Lipo, Saxenda, Botox), I do feel like they are missing a HUGE marketing opportunity by not offering a Super Soldier discount - a bag a week for only $10,000 (That's a savings of $348)!

This my our experience. my niece got a major dental surgery and not able to eat solid food for a few days and feeling a little fatigue. She has fast metabolism and usually consumed a lot of food but not being able to eat solid food for a few days making her tired and lost some weight. We are hoping the Myers IV will help with her energy and recovery. We call in to check if we can come in that day and the price of the IV. We was told there are 2 types of Myers Cocktail IV , 1) $150 @) $199. I drove my niece there and decided to also get the IV while waiting for her, I ask about the Glutathine IV and was told there are 2 options 1) $199 and $250. We told the staff my niece with go for $150 option and I would go for $199. After we were done My niece was charged $199 and I was charged $275. We were both shocked. We ask them again and they told us these are the prices for what we got. We were not in a mood for argue with the staff. We paid and left. There is no price chart in this office or on the website so it hard to argue with them. I felt confident that I didn't ask for $275 option b/c in my mind my budget was under $200. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that there might be a misunderstanding or miscommunication between us and the office. But at the end we had to pay for more than what we were quoted for. That did not sit well with us. If you decided to give this place a try for whatever reason, make sure to write down the price and the services they quoted you for. The staff was nice and friendly, it hard for me to know who is responsible for this shady transaction, did they follow the business owner instruction? or was it their way of doing business. Why waste your money and have to deal with this. We will never come back here again.
