If I could give Mark and his team 10,000+ stars I would. My dad had been living alone for over 20 years and when he passed we knew we had to hire someone to help clean his things. He was a hoarder, but his situation was worse because he also had bed bugs in his apartment. We were desperate to find someone who would be willing to help us because we contacted multiple pest control companies and they all said we needed to clear out the mess first and then they would be willing to treat the apartment for bed bugs. Then the multiple companies we called to help us clear out the mess first told us we needed to get it treated for bed bugs before they'd be willing to clear his mess. We felt so stuck and I literally cried when things weren't working out. It felt like nobody would be able to help us and nobody was willing to work with us. We found Mark's company, BioX, and I was prepared for him to turn us down as well. However, he said he was willing to help us! Mark drove to my house to grab my dad's apartment keys and tell me his plan to clear the apartment. He also told me to write down any valuables that we wanted him and his team to possibly look for even though we knew finding things would be near to impossible with the hoarding situation. Mark communicated with me throughout the days he would go with his team to my dad's apartment. He took pictures of the apartment because we had not ever stepped foot in his apartment. Mark was willing to work with us and he even had his own pest control person work with him to treat the apartment as they cleaned the clutter. Mark explained with bed bugs it's a process because they are in the clutter so every time they clear more clutter then more bed bugs would come out. However, Mark was very patient and willing to work with us and my dad's situation. His team would take time to clear clutter, then contact his pest control person to treat for bed bugs, then clear more clutter, then treat for bed bugs again, over and over until everything was cleared and treated. Mark's team found many valuable papers, pictures, coins, and rings, and saved all of these things nicely in boxes in my dad's apartment. When Mark came back to my house to drop off my dad's keys, I was on the verge of tears telling him how much he helped us. Without Mark and his team's help, we would not have been able to move forward with ANYTHING - renovations, selling the apartment, etc. He was the ONLY person willing to help us with this unique situation and we will FOREVER be grateful. BioX owner Mark Abe is super responsive. He answers incoming calls and returns calls himself, is able to explain the biohazard cleaning process simply, and can quickly provide a cost estimate. My job (a smaller size one), was completed the same day. In just a matter of hours, we progressed through meeting on the phone, doing a on-site assessment, getting a bid, approving the price and scope of work, cleaning and disposal, all the way to job completion! While Mark and his crew were working, the other vendors' estimators were only starting to return my calls for following day assessments. Of course, larger and more complex jobs will take more time, but there is nothing like friendly service from an owner who is hands on and responsive. If I could, I'd give this company 100+ stars!!!!!!! My dad is a MAJOR hoarder, he's been a hoarder since before I was born...which, let's just say is more than 30 years. So can you imagine the amount of stuff he's collected over time! He happen to get bed bugs, which he didn't think at the time was a "big deal". About a year later, yes, a year later, he FINALLY decides that he needs help because the bed bugs were out of control. It was not only in his home, but it was in his car! I live in CA so I had no way of helping him. After calling 3 or 4 other companies who has said either the bed bugs need to be gone before they can declutter or the clutter needs to be cleaned before treatment for the bedbugs can begin. We were stuck! Luckily, I came upon Mark and he was THE only one who was brave enough to take on such a large task! Mark was extremely helpful and kind! He explained the process of having to declutter the place, treating it then renovating it. Mark kept me "in the loop" the entire time! He'd always respond to my texts, return my calls and respond to my many many emails. After about 4.5 months of cleaning up and treating my dad's place AND car, my dad's unit was clean! You could actually see the ground and walk on it!!! And Mark and his team wasn't done there! He helped my dad get furniture from my uncle's place out in Kaaawa, they picked up the furniture, delivered it and put it my dad's place! Mark treated my dad as if he was family! He checked up on him and gave me updates as to how he's doing! If it wasn't for Mark and his amazing team, I don't know where my dad would be or what condition he would be in. I cannot say enough about Mark and his staff. We had a client that was a cat hoarder and his AOAO took legal action to make him clean up his condo. The smell from the numerous cats he had was simply putrid and the neighbors were no longer going to stand for hit. The client +continued to claim there was no smell . Frankly, I think his sense of smelled was burned out from all the ammonia!! We were finally able to convince the client that he had to "gut" the place and have forensic cleaners come in. I called Bio-X and Mark responded immediately. He took the time on a Saturday to meet at the client's condo and promptly provided us with an estimate and details of the work. (I had also called another company who claimed they would come out to inspect and they never did.) Bio-X removed the carpeting, furniture, etc., in no time. They cleaned, deodorized, and sealed the flooring up. Mark is a very customer service oriented person - he was even willing to use a chemical that was recommended to me to assist with the odor. Whenever an issue arose, Mark contacted me immediately and kept me updated on the progress. It took Bio-X about a week to do something that no amount of money n the world would get me to do! Once they were done, Mark called and asked that I go inspect, which I was afraid to do. The first time I went there, I could smell the foul odor just walking around the outside; I was sick for weeks after that. But, after Bio-X's clean up, I actually walked through the entire unit with no problem!! Through no fault of his, there still remained a little odor in two specific spots. Come on - this was, at least, 4 years of massive build up of cat pee and feces that had permeated the wood framing, cupboards, carpeting, etc. That tiny bit of left over odor did not concern me at all. But, Mark immediately returned and took care of it. The AOAO inspected my client's unit and, suffice it to say, he is no longer in threat of losing his condo. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, Mark and Staff.
