I originally contacted Bio Maids for a deep cleaning of my house anticipating the arrival of my new baby. My baby arrived early and on the date we arrived home from the hospital, Margarita herself was at my house cleaning. Although it took her (her partner didn't show up for whatever reason) 8+ hours, I was satisfied with the quality of service and the attention to detail. After feeling good enough about the cleaning, I decided to hire Bio Maids for a recurring monthly cleaning.
One month passes and Margarita arrives at our house with Magy, the recurring cleaner assigned to my house from now on. I used Magy for two months before cancelling the service althogether and here's why:
1. I always have an iPhone charger next to my night stand and in fact used it the night before Magy arrived. I literally unplugged the phone at 8 am and Magy arrived at around 9 am. After she left I noticed the charger was gone. I contacted Margarita about this and she had no idea what happened after asking Magy about it. I don't know how it disappeared but after some email exchanges, Margarita offered to pay for a replacement.
2. Magy, both times while cleaning at our house was seen on her cell phone. Whether this was an iPhone or not, I don't remember (and maybe she used my charger and inadvertently forgot to put it back). I wasn't sure if she was making personal calls or calling home office regarding work, but whichever it is, the perception left to the customer is not a positive one. I would think if it was work related, properly trained staff would notify the home owner (especially if the homeowner was home) that they needed to make a work related call.
3. Part of my cleaning included my master bathroom. Previous cleaners I've used always vacuumed and then mopped the tile floors. And as anyone that's owned a tile bathroom (that's almost most people I would think), you literally can notice a difference in the look and feel of the tiles. I didn't notice any difference after Magy left. I suspect the tile floor was only vacuumed and was not mopped both months. It left a dusty feeling when I stepped on it, which didn't feel different from before she came.
4. Bio Maids advertise using green cleaning products but all I smelled when they were here was bleach. Especially in our bathrooms. One of the main appeal of hiring them was because they claimed to be green and having an infant in the house, that was very important to me. A little bit of a false advertising in my opinion.
Overall, I felt the attention to detail from Magy ultimately was not the same after the initial cleaning by Margarita. There's other smaller details I left out of this review (i.e. bathroom grout was still moldy, tv stand was not dusted, kitchen sink faucet was not wiped) and although these are small items, overall the experience was not worth coming back to. I do think as the owner, Margarita tries to do a good job for her customers to provide them with a good first impression. But in my opinion, her staff needs to maintain that level of service during the recurring cleanings as well. I'm sorry it didn't work out with Bio Maids and I've gone with another service that actually uses real green ingredients. read more
