"Too Busy" per Branch Manager to do custom handles (I provided) but "we can do ours" - this is the short version. But to even get to this lovely response I (the customer) had to give the customer service representative several times to respond to why another company could do it without any problem. Even sending them pictures from other company. Only kept trying Binswanger because their name was referred and their quote was less. First clue should of been the difference in time the initial guy came do measurements. Binswanger was there maybe 10 minutes and I could tell not listening to me on my custom handles. Other company was their at least 45 minutes explaining in detail. And when quote came back also showed difference. Glad Binswanger is so busy. read more

This has got to be the worst glass shop in Richmond, went here for 3 thin glass insert pieces to be cut and I was shocked when I was told it would cost $160; it's glass not GOLD. I went to another shop that was reviewed on Yelp and it only cost me $40. Binswanger you should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to rip me and probably the community off. I have used this company 3 times in the last month or so.. couldnt be happier with the quality of their service. Their work is good as well but the people working the office are pleasant, punctual, and experienced with their work. I will be using this company from now on out. I have used roughly 5 other glass companys for my business and this is the first one I am very happy to be a customer of for the reasons I have listed above. They have gone out of their way to ensure I had what I needed by my deadlines. Prices are totally reasonable and their location is easily accessible from 64, 195 and 95. Called this morning for a quote on broken glass for a business and was given a fair quote. The man could not have been any nicer and came when he said he would(within 40 minutes of an emergency call). The job was completed quickly. Craftsmanship and customer service was impeccable! Always had good experience with nice and helpful staff at the Tomlynn St. location in Richmond. Last time we were there in hopes of a solution for an unusual problem with a shower door and they thought outside the box and worked with us to solve the problem. If you need anything done with glass you need to go to Binswanger. Employees were SUPER polite and friendly. I appreciated their eagerness to get my rear window replaced from a burglar breaking in. Though the wait to see them was about a week, they were attentive and respectively fast when they got the vehicle in. 100% recommended. read more

I went to this shop expecting great customer service. Aside from the friendly employee that carried in my frame, I was greeted by the front desk with much less willingness to help. The woman at the front desk could have cared less that I was needing help on my clients mirror. When I was asking questions she made snarky remarks. Her facial expressions spoke a thousand words. Instead of giving me positive direction, they looked at me like I had 3 eyes and very little to offer. I would have been a paying customer. I expect better service than what I received. First impressions are everything, literally! Aside from the good reviews I see on the quality of work that comes out of the shop, I felt that the face of the company (person who greets you when you walk in), should have had more enthusiasm to help a new customer. Kindness goes a long way and today it ended in a 5 minute conversation. read more

Sloppy, error prone front office. Took weeks and weeks to get the glass shelves I ordered. First time one of the shelves was incorrectly measured. Next time it came in, it had a big chip. Third time it came in as non-tempered though I'd paid a high price for tempered glass. We got a small credit after my husband demanded it. Tortuous. read more
