Highly recommend Window Depot, Richmond, VA who replaced our front doors (solid/storm), side panels and windows. Our first encounter was with Phil who did not pressure us however, his story of Window Depot being owned and operated by Frank & Laura Amory let us know that they are not the typical window replacement company. All employees are invested in the company from sales to installation and their motto, "We Create Happy Customers" are exactly what they have done for us. Phil's professionalism, trustworthiness and knowledge of services and products helped with our decision to purchase the Previa products (well-made and priced). One of our greatest concerns was having to work with subcontractors for the installation however, Phil assured us that all work would be done by employees of Window Depot. We are extremely pleased with the proficiency, expertise, and workmanship of the Installation Teams. They showed up on time and each person was very polite, respectful of our property, laid drop cloths, worked together as a well-oiled machine and cleaned up after each day's work. So at this point we were wary of dealing with home improvement companies for fear of another pressure sale experience. Encountered Renewal by Andersen by happenstance when we were at our local Plesant's buying wood stain. We decided we had nothing to lose, so we made an appointment to meet with one of their representatives. Tony, our design consultant, arrived on time, and was so laid back and easy to deal with. Our Boxer liked him, which was also a good sign. Tony really knew his product and the industry. He took his time with us, listening to our needs and educating us along the way as we drafted our window plan. We were able to get financing at a super low interest rate of 2.9%. The measure tech team were awesome. They were meticulous - measuring each window twice to ensure a perfect custom fit. These weren't one size fits all windows that come from a warehouse to be installed the next week, so we were totally ok with waiting 2 months for the windows to be custom made for our house. The install team, lead by Daniel, were clearly seasoned, experienced professionals. They got the job done right and kept a clean work site. They skillfully dealt with the challenges our old house gave them, such as a bit of wood rot and a quirky old front door opening, at no extra charge to us. The finished product was amazing! Our old house got the facelift it so badly needed. I hate to even cover the windows with shades or curtains. They're too pretty! Haha! We can't wait to reap the energy savings benefits, either. Almost so laid back that I initially thought they didn't need the business since it was a relatively small job! However, it is just their approach which was good. The installers showed up EXACTLY on time. Very polite, clean cut group of men who worked quickly and efficiently. Installed in 3.5 hours! They left the house cleaner than when they came. The team was courteous, neat and appreciated the case of Corona. It was March - not even hot yet! They even spray painted the air vent pipes black! Anxious to see how the new Ridge Vent works this summer. My 1966-built rancher has always been hot. My skylights were installed 18 years ago, and they've held up so I did not take NRR up on their suggestion to replace them. I did however upgrade the Shingles to the Certainteed Landmark Pro - and glad I did. I can tell the difference. I spoke with the rep for Certainteed and she advised that NRR is ranked a top installer. // I did entertain Absolute Roofing; their "area manager" contacted me after I signed a form requesting a bid. My insurance company said they wanted $24K to replace roof. NRR did a great job for less than 50%. AR threatened me with lawsuit. Good thing I signed their contract: "Permission to contact USAA denied". Hope this helps!

Also, each day they finished the days work, they picked up the trash and materials. We hired them just over 6 months ago and when they finally got the materials in for our project they were here within a day of the materials being delivered. When the work was about to begin, I asked George if the crew would be able to install two windows I bought in part of our attic that was unfinished but open studs so an easy install and he said not a problem and did not charge for it even though it wasn't in the agreed scope of work. And despite this, George is a wonderful man, and I would hire him and his company again without any concerns or hesitation. We couldn't be more satisfied with them.

I was interested in siding for my home and selected PHS because of their good reviews.Met and…read moretalked to Mike @house...I was initially impressed by Mike,s attention to details on my home that could be improved.He talked about the lower part of siding(bottom edging)as we walked around house,and that it was at different levels.This he said his crew could streamline and make look better by making it one level -- wow I thought.Then we approached the front porch and he suggested an improvement there as well.The improvement was to the railing...on the original build the hand rail was attached the the siding - he would remove the attachment from siding and install a post to attach hand rail to so it would no longer be attached to the future brand new siding--Wow great idea I thought.This and a few other ideas that were brought up by Mike I agreed to purchase siding from PHS.After purchase things quickly took nose dive for worse.I will list : Came home from work to find my new architectural shingle roof being used as work surface for the irresponsible crew i.e. broken tabs on ground,torn tabs,bent tabs.Crew was not aware that you could use a stand off attachment on ladder to prevent damage to roof.Another visit my wall board underlayment was turned into swiss cheese from the crew removing siding and hammering the old 2 -1/2 nails bending over (missing nail every other strike) into my once undamaged wall board.The sales talk about about streamlining the lower edging of siding was forgotten(just sales talk),and on rear of home made worse than original build where I have a bump out addition for utility rm.The hand rail that he said would not be anchored to new siding!!...go figure the crew drove screws into the new siding and attached porch railing and pickets to siding and also split the 4x4 porch support post that holds the weight of porch structure.The crew cut out for a gable vent on end of bump out section of home(thats not even living space) for gable vent install when there was no gable vent to be installed there! Then rigged (bubble gummed)the gable vent in wall : there was no twin studs installed to provide anchoring point for vent.The electrical outlet boxes and security lamps on exterior of home they removed and through away all the original machine screws so used non zinc coated interior drywall screws and stripped out the machine screw threaded exterior outlet boxes.Even the front door bell switch was reinstalled with drywall screws!! Not the brass exterior screws.In closing in PHS attempt to make things right : only 1 wall board was repaired on my swiss cheese house. The roof which Mike said he would replace shingles that were broke - wait for it... - bubble gum : a worker cut pieces of some old shingles (from previous roof job)to size and shape of breaks and glued in place with latex white caulk. I ended up getting an all-new motor, brackets, springs, keypads, rollers, etc. When I tell you I could not be happier it's the God's honest truth. In a post COVID world having a TRUE PROFESSIONAL in 2024 is like a breath of fresh air. A1 Door charges a high premium and in my opinion it's worth every penny. The icing on the cake was when my wife came home and was more fascinated by the new door than I was. She found it remarkable that the same door and rail system could magically become so QUIET. We both kept saying to one another "Can you believe this is the same door?" My old LiftMaster was from 1999 and had a great life. My new garage door is the quintessential leap into the 21st century. My new LiftMaster has a camera, an app for my phone, and external keypad entry. I get notifications when the door is open and closed and I can view activity in the garage in real time. It took several months before they finally approved the window replacement. LEI sent the new window to their warehouse in September 2025 and told me to pick it up. I have no idea how to install a picture window so I called Mohamed Mustafa, my original sales rep, and he assured me that his team would pick up the window and come out and install it for me (for around $250-$300 since labor is not included in the warranty). I have called Mohamed nearly every week ever since. Many times he doesn't answer but when he does answer he always assures me that he is on it, that he is about to have a meeting with his team and will call me back to schedule - he never calls me back. I have not been able to get him on the phone since just before Thanksgiving. It is now January 8, 2026 and I still don't have an install date and at my wits end. Getting a replacement window when there is a product failure should not be this difficult or time consuming. If/when they resolve it, I will update this review. In the meantime, I would NOT recommend you do business with this company.

After 4 months of calling, they decided they were not responsible- leaving me to pay full price for windows that leak every single time it rains and water damage in inside my home. He's not a salesperson, and as you can imagine, there were numerous issues throughout the process. I was never connected with a real salesperson to help me. Jeff ordered a door in the wrong orientation and I went to Pella showroom to try to fix it. Jeff argued with me as soon as I walked in the door and I was connect with Drew, a real salesperson, who has yet to respond to my contractor about fixing the issue, even after saying he would reach out to him multiple times this week. If you set expectation with someone, you should follow through, even if it's to give them a quick update that you need more time. Drew told me it would take 5 days for parts to come in. The manager told me it would take 3 weeks. Whenever these parts come in, I will have to pay for additional workers to come back to my house to pop the door back out of the frame while Pella fixes it. I am losing money because of this company's incompetence. It's been an insanely terrible experience.

Ace Glass was able to come today (1 day later) to my office and install a new windshield. I am so happy they could fix my problem so quickly. I'll update this review should I have any issues.
