This company provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. What should have been a relatively easy job of replacing gaskets around plate glass windows turned into a months long nightmare. When they finally got around to installing they damaged a window that now has condensation between the double panes. Now the won't return a call or show any interest in making good on their poor work. All of the one star reviews are correct. Steer clear! read more

Worst experience I've ever encountered with any company. Every time I called I RARELY got some to answer the phone. I've probably left 20 voicemails. Not once did they call me back I had to call every day until I could get ahold of someone. I requested weather stripping for my restaurants front door. I paid in full, then it took 3 weeks of non communication for them to come out one day, stay for a few hours and leave without saying anything or fixing anything. I had to call numerous times to find out they didn't have the right parts. They come back out, finish the job and leave. Not 3 days later, the cheap stripping they installed had fallen off. Not sure what else they installed but now there's the same gap in my door. I've called numerous times to ask about a satisfaction guarantee, and once I finally got somebody on the phone, they said they would have to transfer me to their supervisor, who wasn't available at the moment. After being scared out of my mind by googling risks of bad windshield repair, I found Binswanger thanks to their endorsement by a not for profit called SafeWindshields. Despite prior reviews, I gave them a shot and was very pleasantly surprised. Their pricing was equivalent to three other businesses I called. The appointment scheduler was friendly, even when I called last minute and asked to change the location of the replacement. I was called when the technician was 20 minutes away. The gentleman who replaced my windshield was friendly, efficient, and did great, clean work. As an additional perk, the windshield replacement comes with two free chip repairs. Horrible customer service. We contacted them to replace a broken window and they were suppose to send someone the same day. He went out there to inspect did not call or follow the directions that were given to go through the alley to inspect the window. Great quality, good prices, horrible service. I've now had two encounters with Binswanger: once for a custom-cut pane of glass for a table, and once to replace my car's windshield. On both occasions, the work they performed was top-notch, and the price was competitive. But on both occasions, the service was horrible. The staff acted like they were doing me a favor just by answering the phone. They seemed completely un-phased by repeated delays (and by my polite but clear expressions of frustration with those delays). And they seemed to keep no records... every time I spoke with someone (whether it was the same rep or someone new), I had to start from scratch explaining what the project and the problem was. Bottom line: If you're NOT in a hurry, and DON'T mind a bad attitude, choose Binswanger. read more

I need custom glass for a bathroom renovation project. The guy who came out to measure was on time and very friendly. After I recieved the estimate I went into the store/studio/office - call it what you will - and the lady at the front desk wasn't the friendliest but she wasn't mean or rude. She could work on her customer service skills but she was able to help me schedule the installation. On the day of installation, the guys showed up a bit late because they got lost but whatever. They did a professional job with the installation and the glass itself was fantastic! I would definitely go with them again for any glass needs. read more

Crooks. I have a shower door that is needs to be adjusted. I called and made an appointment with these guys and was told they would send someone to look at it and maybe fix it. The guys show up and immediately start adjusting the door only to find out that they really can't fix the issue without replacing the door. 10 minutes later I'm told that the service charge is $200 just to come out and assess the situation. Not only is it robbery, but zero disclosure of this service charge. read more

They replaced a cracked windshield and we had no known problems until we had to have it replaced again. Went to another company that was more convenient and found out that during the original replacement the installer glued the moldings to the clips. By doing this they were unable to remove the moldings without breaking the clips, therefore having to order new moldings for the windshield. Binswanger wouldn't take any responsibility for gluing the moldings to the clips. To me, this is not the way to conduct business and I won't be going back again. It was an easy way around fixing the problem instead of doing it correctly. read more
