Imagine hiring a contractor to improve your home, then discovering after the crew leaves that newly installed exterior doors cannot reliably lock, storm doors lack functioning handles or locks, and some entrances cannot be used normally. Now imagine realizing this while your child sleeps inside. Our project involved five exterior doors, four storm doors, James Hardie siding, and closing an exterior window. At one stage, three of four storm doors lacked essential operating hardware. We had to ask: Can we secure our home tonight? Could we use these doors during an emergency? Is our child safe? We could not postpone urgent corrections indefinitely while the owner blocked us, so on our own, we hired consultants to investigate the concerns and offer recommendations. The project was expected to be completed March 16-20, 2026, but remained unresolved months later. Hawkins continued demanding $9,577.20, which we disputed based on incomplete work, corrective costs, credits, reduced scope, and the undelivered door. Because of Hawkins lack of quality control in all aspects of its business, poor documentation and communication, and the countless risks associated with their unacceptable quality of workmanship, we hired consultants and other contractors, involved attorneys, disputed the balance, and completely lost trust & confidence. Don't make the same mistake no matter how "nice" the sales guy seems.

We went with Liberty Paint four years ago for our townhouse and reached out to them again for our current home. Their pricing remains fair, especially for the quality of their work and excellent customer experience. Roy, his head painter, again came in with his other painters to fix and touch up things that our Reno contractors missed. They stopped by more than once to honor some of the touch up requests we had, because they're that committed to keeping their customers happy and making sure they did an A+ job. They painted the inside of our entire house, the cabinets and shelves, and white washed our fireplace. They are also the only contractors we trusted enough to let back into our home after we had moved in, if that says anything. Aaron's painters are respectful of the home and they make sure to leave things better than how it was when they got there (literally). Roy is also great at suggesting other house improvements and performing random handy work! Overall, I'd recommend Liberty Paint without hesitation and will be referring them to friends in our new neighborhood!
