If you are a fan of the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, you'll be sure to love the Bargain Box. Just like the Huntington Collection, I can't call it a thrift shop since it's not like any thrift shops I've been to! Looks more like an expensive antique shop when you step inside. I was blown away by the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the pieces on sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. All of the furniture and housewares are excellent condition, not to mention very well priced. Make a point to visit before Halloween! The store is all decked out with Halloween decor! The Bargain Box is managed by the Assistance League of Arcadia, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 1pm.

I'm hesitant to leave this review because I don't want to share this place. Small and clean, it's…read moremore like a little boutique than a typical thrift store. Clothing, jewelry, books...they carry a little bit of everything here. I enjoy browsing the racks and shelves even when I leave empty handed. Good to know: They are only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I suggest subscribing to their email list so you know the weekly happenings before you visit. The lot is on the smaller side and it fills up pretty quickly. There is plenty of street parking on Live Oak, but that also fills up on Wednesdays. If you arrive a little before opening there is usually a short line outside to get in, but there is never a mad rush to get in or anything, so don't let the line scare you away!

Today my Mom and I were at the food court located at The Square shopping center. There is The…read moreSquare Plus retail store that is also within the food court area... the name is so fitting as the shopping center is called The Square LOL. Anyway, we looked over and saw dustpans. I've been wanting to buy a new dustpan because the old one was damaged when I had to use it to shovel snow a few weeks back when the high desert had a snowstorm. Yes, you read right... I used a dustpan to shovel snow (1st time shoveling snow + using a dustpan to do it) LOL... it wasn't too bad actually. One gray dustpan was $4.49 + tax... not too shabby and it's the sturdy type, too. I didn't check out any other items in the shop, but from what I can tell, they do have some nifty knick knacks, small appliances, general household stuff, etc. It doesn't have a lot of space for customers to walk around though... there are only 2 aisles really... the one closest to the entrance and the one on the other side of the wall LOL. I grabbed one dustpan, waited in line (wait wasn't too bad), and paid cash for it. The lady at the cashier was pleasant. She may have been the owner... not 100% sure though. If you happen to be hanging out at the food court, swing on by and see what fun stuff you can pick up from here. Happy Shopping!

Pretty cool retail shop…read more Located within the food court, this shop is packed filled with asian appliances like rice cookers, steamers, and water boilers. Great for getting specific asian appliances that are difficult to find on Amazon or other big-chain appliance stores like Best Buy etc. They also sell a lot of little tiny tools, such as cookware etc. Feels kind of like Daiso. Overall, a pretty neat place to visit and check things out!

I absolutely love Five Below, but this location is HORRIBLE & UNPROFESSIONAL! I was looking for a…read morecertain shirt while two employees (one of them being the manager, Sher) were folding, I was being polite by trying to converse with them. Mind you I just acknowledge their hard work on the t shirt wall since it was a complete mess, and they completely IGNORED ME! I politely grabbed the shirts (without making a mess) I needed and went around a fixture and they immediately started talking so poorly of me, talking about my looks and how annoying I was and I have "no morals" (I literally recognized them for their hard work folding the clothes) lol I approached them with class about it because no customer should be treated that way, and they proceeded to argue with me "was I talking about you?!??", denying it and claiming they were talking about another customer, And I told them, it doesn't matter who it was about, there is no need to talk so badly about ANY customers especially those that were simply being nice. Go talk crap when you're off or in the stock room. To bluntly talk and treat me like that or any customer for that matter was sooooo uncalled for. Do better. I get the season is rough but I was simply trying to do retail therapy and get Christmas shopping done after going through a horrific loss, you never know what others are going through so please treat all people with respect.
