He advised me that they had a Boss Elite BE7ACP in stock. I shared my opinion that I felt Boss was Wal-Mart junk, and Cal told me it had a 2 year warranty and that their quality has improved with the Elite series. I spent a few minutes researching others' opinions online, and they were mixed. Some people said that they'd had this model for years with no issues. Others reported issues with it powering down unexpectedly. I am aware that some issues can be the result of a poor install. A loose ground, a bad connection, etc. all will cause issues. Since this is an older car that I rarely drive, more of a back-up car, I rolled the dice. This model only has wired CarPlay which Cal was upfront about, but I don't care. I plug my phone in to charge when I get in anyway, I don't understand the people who will spend $200 more for wireless but that's their prerogative. He was also honest about the couple of Sony units he had in stock, and while there wasn't a great variety on display that's common in smaller shops. They just don't have the room for 20 units on display, although I think they could squeeze in a few more. The unit they sold me was $50 more than it sells for ($200) on Amazon, and I know small businesses use product mark-up to help with their small profit margins. I didn't complain, but if they will install equipment that you buy yourself, that may be another option to save money. An important note: I had been to another install shop in Mokena, they wanted thousands of dollars (literally) to replace the head unit and speakers, stating that they couldn't use my factory Bose amp that drives the 7 speakers my car came with in 2007. They had all sorts of stories about why it made sense to spend $4k to replace a head unit, amp, and speakers in a car whose blue-book value is $1,800. Cal listened to my speakers and explained that the front right tweeter was blown and that he could replace the tweeters and door speakers because they are a component system with some decent Kenwood or Alpine options for about $400 - which I will take him up on. He can integrate them with my Bose amp with no issues. I just need my sound to not to "buzz", I'm not entering car stereo competitions - and he's taking care of that. Cal had a cancellation on the upcoming Saturday and squeezed me in. By the afternoon the work was done and everything works great. It's true that they have only 1 garage, and Cal was the only one there both times I went. I know that presents challenges when he has to leave working on a car to come to the counter for a walk-in. But I wasn't ignored and didn't wait at all. He was attentive and patient and explained everything well. So far the Boss head unit works well and there are no issues. I will update the review if things go south. But most importantly, people should know that my experience with the one employee I dealt with at Automotive Concepts (Cal) was honest, offered options instead of trying to scam me, and executed a solid install. I would trust someone who does this for a career before I bring it to some Best Buy hack who will be working elsewhere in 6 months.

Horrible feedback, music cut in and out, and put a different amp then we originally talk about putting in. The owner avoids all my calls afterwards and makes excuses and lost $400 for an amp that was only worth 129.99 retail. As a recommendation from a coworker I called audiondriven and I talk to Thomas about my problem, he said if I can make in today he will look at it. Later on that day I came to the shop, he dropped everything to look at my problem while also helping customers. He showed me everything that the other shop did wrong. None of the wires soldered down, everything wrap up and tangled and no care was taken for my car. I could of had a better shot of doing it myself and I can only pump gas and change out my air filter. Thomas readjusted the amp that was in my car to make it manageable and highly suggest to put a better amp in soon as possible. He took care of me that day when I was freaking out thinking my new car I just bought a couple months back that sound system was going to crash and I gotten ripped off by the amp I was sold. Sucks he had to fixes someone else's mistakes. Two weeks later I took his advice and put in a jl audio amp and then alpine speakers. Now my system breaths new life. I highly recommend this place. Don't try the rest, try the best.

For three weeks I was in conversation with the owner in efforts to have a new double din unit installed into my vehicle. The owner of the company seem to be very trustworthy and spoke in confidence about how the upgrade and installation would occur. Reggie opted to schedule my vehicle in for a late appointment and conduct the installation. It was to my knowledge that my vehicle would be dropped off for the installation to occur the following day. Upon dropping my vehicle off, Reggie indicated to me that he would have the installation completed that evening. Perplexed and shocked we opted to grab dinner at a local establishment while he conducted the install. I received a call about 2 1/2 hours later advising me that the installation was complete. Upon picking my vehicle up everything seemed ok, we made a few adjustments to the back up camera and off we went. Returning home I parked my vehicle in the garage not even attempting to use the new audio system until I read the manual. A couple of days went by, armed with book smart info I began to learning how to utilize my new audio system. Oddly enough I notice a few things. The dimmer feature didn't function with the headlights, additionally the illuminated buttons for the HVAC just below radio only had 2 buttons lighted. I was troubled by this know that the HVAC was replaced 1 month prior. Having questions regarding the audio system, I contacted the manufacturer help line and walked through a few of the configurations. It was brought to my attention that one important component was missing for the navigation to function. I reached out to Reggie to ask the pertinent questions relative to having this function correctly. During the conversation, I sensed a defensive tone with my inquiry. Knowing what I had experienced previously I was already prepared to cut my losses. I obtained the missing component an opt to install it myself. It was then that I realized that the professional installation I was hoping for was nothing more than a super glued hack job. Additionally I realized that the A/C control head appeared to have damage present from I suspect being dropped. 3 of the functions no longer illuminated when the lights were turned on. I corrected the navigation issue on the radio and decided to call Reggie regarding my findings. With each attempt, I reached a voicemail with no return call. Trust has been violated.
