The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful, and they're very knowledgeable about helping me find what I need. Like all Binnys locations this one has a great selection. I also love that they have lots of gifty options, and not just around the holidays. This is a nice Binny's. Obviously the selection of booze is pretty extensive, but to top it off the store is very well organized and always very clean. I've had a couple discussions about beer with several different staff members and they all seem very knowledgable and can easily point you in the right direction if you're looking for something new to try. Nice place to stock up on all your alcohol needs and wants! They have a great selection that was well merchandised. I went in for rum and came out with amaretto vodka and patron XO cafe liqueur along with my rum. Prices are competitive and you can join their club to save even more. I went to Portland and tried Trapist Rochefort (monk made beer) and it is the sweet nectar of the Gods. Then I found out it was $10 a freakin' bottle. Didn't matter though since I was hooked. I got back to chi-town burbs and started hitting up my local liquor stores. No one has it, no one's heard of it. I was near Binny's and thought I'd give them a try. Whoa! This place is the size of 8 football fields all filled with booze. Yay! Not only do they have Trapist Rochefort they have other selections from the brewery. The manager was working the customer service desk and helped me out right away and was very knowledgeable about other beer questions I had. They've got everything I've ever needed from a booze store and more. Fresh foods section, lots o' wine, and hard liquor. They are cheaper than most places and have a selection to envy. If it weren't for Binny's, I don't know where I would buy my liquor in Plainfield! The local grocery stores have their liquor departments quarantined, and it frosts my ass to make 2 purchases in one store. So yay for Binny's! The employees are helpful, and I'm greeted (almost) every time. At least every time I can remember except today. And I know I looked like a lost child while cruising the beer aisles for a raspberry cider. An employee looked up from his computer, must've determined I wasn't hot enough to help, and he looked down again. Without his help I found my Blue Moon, a 6-pack of Abita and a generic Kahlua. I usually buy wine here when I want to pick up more than just 1 bottle. I like that the cashiers pack the bottles in the green plastic bottle grippers. Is it weird I noticed how high quality the plastic bags are? They're thicker than regular grocery bags, and they make great garbage bags! Binny's would get a 5th star if the aisles were wider. I would recommend evaulating each Binny's on a individual basis. This one has plenty of stock but customer service is non existant!! Case in point.. Being pressed for time I emailed binnys asking abouit ordering a keg of beer for my upcoming holiday party. Binnys led me to contact my neighborhood Binnys (this one). I spoke to George the distribution mgr who was nice and assured me everything would be OK. On pickup day which was the following week, I sent my wife in to pick up said keg. Not only was it not there, they claimed no order was placed and said maybe George forget to tag it. I think they sold it on me!!. George had told me that Leinies Summer Shandy was always in stock and would be there. They were very rude to my wife and made no attempt to rectify the problem. Later, I called the store and talked with Stuart ,the manager. He said I dont know what happened and said they were out of kegs for Leinies and told me the truck delivering Leinies might be there the next day. Upon pressing him, because I work nights and have no time during the day to do any negotiating,he said fine Ill give you a free 1/6 barrel if you come in . I couldnt get there immediately as I had to leave for work and my wife was gone already for the weekend. I showed up the next day and Stuart said Good news..here is a ticket for 10% off your next purchase and we found your keg. How I asked..He said a tag had fallen off of a barrel and we couldnt identify it till today,but we know its your Summer Shandy. I asked Didnt your delivery truck come in today? No he lied it didnt. What do you want me to do? I guess a free 1/6 keg is out of the question , huh I said ..He said fine but charged me a $30 barrel deposit . Some customer service that was. I didnt have time to do this trip and I really wanted to do this yesterday and he lied about the delivery truck!! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS STORE!!!!!!!!!! Use Armanettis or Discount Liquors 10% would have been about 12.50 for the 1/2 barell. How about a standard 20% at least?? read more

This was my first time here and my experience was delightful. Upon entering, I was immediately offered a taste test which I thought was fun. While testing, I started chatting with another customer and we had fun brainstorming about new drunks we could make with the product. The store is large but I liked the layout. The shelves are low and the aisles are clearly marked, so you have a really good view of what's offered and where it is located. I spent most of my time in the whiskey, rum, and tequila aisles and there were definitely fun new products that I had never seen, in addition to the classics. As with any Binnys, great selection of whatever liquor you could want, they get a 10 plus as a chain for carrying Pappy Van Winkle bourbon and Demerara El Dorado Rum Strong beer selection, the beer guy is actually one of the few decent employees there- very knowledgeable about their selections Wine selection is not overwhelming, all the usual suspects, but no passion....kind of a Jewel Osco of wine- they got what most people would want at an OK price. No bargains, even with their "sales". Go direct for the great washington and oregon names and if you like magnums like this little mongoose does...yummy yummy yummy in my tummy tummy tummy Big store, cold service, strong beer and liquor selection; and did I mention indifferent service. read more

Stopped in to get an unusual liquor, Nocello, an Italian nut based aperitif. An employee who asked if we needed help, tried to locate the product on the shelves, called over a young lady who said we've got to ask Stef, who knew the liquor immediately. Pulled it up on a handheld, found out they were out, ordered it right there and asked if I wanted her to track it down at another store. I said I'd stop back, she wrote name and product call number on her card and I said I'd be in over the upcoming weekend. When I was little I always wanted to go to Toys R Us, as an adult I want to go to Binny's. It's like an alcoholic playground. This Binny's is my go-to place. Not to sound "bad" but I usually stop in once a week to check out new beers or to see what's on sale to stock up my bar. It's rare I'm not walking out with something alcoholic. The prices are especially good (if you sign up for the free rewards card). Service though can be spotty. That's the one downside. So I guess the key is to limit questions to the staff or ask unlimited questions, get a pissy answer and go home and drink it off. Maybe that's the business plan. read more

The main Binny's that I most frequent. Since its fairly new, this is probably the biggest & cleanest Binny's I've ever set foot in! The beer selection is fairly large with a table set aside just for the bottle singles. (seem to only sell mainstream beer singles) The service can be a hit or miss depending on who's helping you out. The stockers can kinda blow you off when asking for an item that they don't carry yet. Ask for Keith, their beer consultant, if you're not sure what beer to walk out with and since he's really the only kool guy there who's a beer geek at heart. The cashier's here are pretty thorough when it comes to observing your Driver's License. (so watch out fake I.D. card holders) Prices aren't as good as one may hope, I've seen some 12 packs that were cheaper at the Jewel and weren't on sale either. read more

I arrived here looking for Kina Lillet, a french wine with quinine. Why the heck would I need that? I had a friend request a James Bond Martini. Yep, just like in the movies. The staff was super friendly and knew what I needed. They also didn't make fun of me for making James Bond martinis. I've come to the conclusion this place has almost everything. So if you find yourself inexplicably needing bacon or cucumber vodka this is the place. Don't judge me, bacon is good in everything! Binny's is a vast expanse of any alcohol you could possibly want. I could actually walk up and down the aisles for hours looking at all the possibilities that could be put in cups. They also have a huge craft beer selection. Rude staff, plain and simple. As my wife and I walked up to the door at ten to 6 this past Sunday, we were greeted, or rather barked at, by an employee. "5 minutes", he all but sneered at us. We knew we were cutting it close and that they closed at 6, but come on, it wouldn't hurt to politely let us know they're closing soon. If it ended there I'd be giving this place a better rating, and could chalk it up to one surly employee, but it didn't end there. Inside I spoke with 2 employees, both seemed put out at having to answer a couple simple questions about the location and availability of some items. The first guy was trying the best he could to run away from us before I was finished with my question. When I asked a different guy if they carried any 3 Floyds products, I was told no. Really, I asked, none? Well we do, I was told, but it's such a small amount and only comes on Fridays. I'm not sure why I had to press an employee for the truth, I'm also not sure how this kind of customer service is allowed by management. I will not be back here. read more

Has anyone been to this new Binny's? They have a really nice gourmet grocery section, with the most delectable fresh cheeses and other gourmet items. If you want to have some really tasty treats for a gathering, I recommend this little gourmet grocery while you are picking up your beverages. The grocery manager, Keith, is very knowledgable and also is a certified chef. He can recommend some wonderful combinations or recipes for food for your party. The wine steward at this Binny's is also very knowlegable about what wines go with various cheeses. I was in today picking up a few things for the weekend. Upon checking out I dropped a bottle of bitters and it went everywhere. The staff was very friendly and seemed more concerned with my safety ( since I was in flip flops and the broken glass was everywhere ) then with the horrible mess I had just caused. I just want to say thank you to the awesome staff at this location. I wish I would have gotten names but I was so embarrassed I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could.
