I don't exactly know why Joe's changed its name to John's but I haven't been here in years. I was curious about some of the drinks they had here and I see they have plenty of great options I would assume we're hard to find. I even found some great non alcoholic drinks I would consider hard to nearly impossible to find. Store is very clean and well lit! Definitely worth a trip here. Service was okay. read more

Great guys to do business with!! I've watched the staff grow up over the last couple decades and I'm happy to report I still have a better head of hair than most of them...mainly because I'm not pulling it out while hunting for bottle bandits on the surveillance system. Seriously, they watch for theft around the clock from a remote location and can deploy drones to follow perps home when they leave. Knowing this, I never relieve myself behind their dumpster. They have the best selection and pricing around Joliet, but if you make a request, they'll likely make it happen...however they probably already have it in stock before you call to ask. The owners either treat the employees really well or must have some real dirt on them since there is little to no turnover. It's definitely nice to see familiar faces even when they're a little blurry. I guess the only two complaints I have are the awful choice of sweaters Ash models while pretending to work and the dust on their bottles of Zima. Sorry I didn't post this sooner read more

Ordered from Joe's yesterday for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience!!!!!! The website was super user friendly and easy to use. When I walked in, I was greeted by the two Nicest guys you could want working the counter. They helped me right away, and my order was waiting for me. I used to go here at about once a week. ( Since it opened as Cardinal ). HOWEVER, this time, at checkout, each bottle of wine I picked out ( 6 ) were $3 more than marked. When I called it to their attention, we went to the locations on the shelves, and he said, "they're marked wrong". Last time I purchased the same wine, the prices were what was marked. The kicker is, that he said I was getting a 10% discount anyway. With all the liquor stores in town, I will not go back to this one. read more

Whether it is a popular drink or something rare, they have it. I have yet to come here and they don't have whatever it is I'm looking for. So this has officially become one of my go to places when I'm looking for something specific. I write this in appreciation of a beer Mecca in the desert of Joliet, IL. Every year, usually twice per year, I fly out from the Washington D.C. area to visit with in-laws who have migrated from the near-Chicago suburbs to a Del Webb retirement community in Shorewood, IL. Shorewood, and its larger neighbor, Joliet, are not exactly known as cosmopolitan locales. It is difficult to find good food, beer, etc. Not impossible -- just difficult. For that reason, I despaired at finding a store with a decent beer selection that expanded beyond Old Style and Miller Lite. Fortunately, I found Cardinal. Cardinal has a beer selection that is eclectic and extensive. It ranges from the pedestrian to the exotic, from the cheap to the expensive. Want Budweiser, Bud Light, Old Style or Corona? Cardinal has it. Want Dogfish Head, Ayinger, Stone, Anderson Valley, Half Acre, or Revolution? Got it. Want beer that's $12.99 for a case? Done. Want beer that is $39.99 for a 4-pack? Done. Cardinal caters to a broad range of tastes -- but despite that, has a pretty damn extensive international and craft beer selection. Color me impressed -- and likely to be a return customer every time I am in town. In fact, I have plans to go back tomorrow. read more

Ever since moving next to the old carpet store, the store has vastly improved its selection. Inside, it had that new warehouse feel with very low inventory on certain parts of the shelf. If you're familiar with other Cardinal affiliated stores, then you know how vast their craft beer offerings are. However, I have a feeling that most of the higher end beers like Bell's, Great Lakes, Sierra Nevada, Founders, Sam Adams probably have been there for a while (which can be a good thing in some cases) so make sure to check the date. The Spirits & Beer seemed to take up the bulk of the store & there wasn't much of a wine selection. Prices were a slightly more here than at Binny's. read more

This place is awesome, has a great Buffalo Trace distillery stock and other great whiskeys
