On a recent bus trip we stopped here for breakfast on the way down to Philadelphia and also on our way back for dinner. I was impressed at how efficient the staff is here. A full bus load of people along with their regular customers and we were in and out in an hour. This was my first time here but everyone told me about their famous cinnamon raisin bread so I had that along with my omelet. The breakfast was amazing! Also they gave us a sheet to pick if we wanted to bring some pies/baked goods back home when we returned on our way back. This way they would have it all ready for us. My girlfriend and I split the cinnamon raisin loaf, cherry loaf and fruits of the forest pie. For dinner on the way back on had chicken and biscuits (the small entree) and it was delicious. It was not small either, had enough for 2 people. I also split a slice of cherry pie with my girlfriend. The cherry pie was ok because it was cherry pie filling and very sweet. The fruit of the forest pie brought home was very good! The fruit tasted like real frozen berries that had been cooked up. Of course the cinnamon Radisson bread was great but the cherry loaf was just ok for me. Altogether a very nice place to stop and when I'm driving south I will definitely stop here. read more

This isn't a review i cared to make, but the food was so bad last time that here it is.. the lunch/dinner is usually good. Not out of this world, but good. The baked goods are good, but again nothing to get excited or over the moon about in my opinion. The breakfast is typically mediocre, however. The potatoes they give you are like something you'd get from the freezer section at your local supermarket, terrible. I have seen/heard of the manager on multiple occasions being rude to his employees, including a pregnant woman. Ordering for takeout is a hit or miss affair, mainly whether you get everything you ordered or not being the issue, however the food started getting between being good or less than average. The last meal I ordered however, was gross. The apple sauce in particular was so bad giving it to one of my dogs would have been animal abuse, it was disgusting. It was so bad I sometimes wonder if it was purposely done that way.. and that's why I made this review. read more

We stopped here on our way back from the finger lakes. This was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. WE should have been paid to come here. Where to start: 1. Soda was flat. 2. We ordered hamburgers and a chicken salad sandwich. Both were devoid of flavor. The steak fries were the best part of the meal, and even they were not outstanding. 3. We ordered 3-4 different slices of pie, which is supposedly what they are known for. All of them were ok, which ordinarily would not be bad, but for a place advertising their pies, this is quite lousy. 4. Finally, the service. We had plates piled up on our table that were not removed. When it meals came, the server handed me hot plates to pass to my kids. My son asked for a glass of water which the server never brought. And we had to ask to order dessert! My strong recommendation would be to drive past this place and pick somewhere in Clarks Summit or even Scranton. Anywhere but here. read more

First thing, it's off of exit 211. Of course, that's the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I was traveling from New Jersey to Rochester. That trip is not my favorite. A friend told me to give this a try. We stopped to eat on the way up and the way back. Some of the entrées we got were.. cheeseburger and fries... Chicken salad sandwich... Ruben. Some of the breads you can order are homemade. The pies are to die for. The cherry pie had that little bit of tart taste And the blueberry pie really taste like blueberry pie... Not Tastycake blueberry pie. Another dessert that takes the cake or I should say eclair is the chocolate eclair. We also brought home a homemade cinnamon raisin loaf of bread. It's much better than your Pepperidge farm swirl. The waitresses that served us we're excellent. They were friendly and didn't get upset when it took my wife five minutes to decide on her entry.. I usually don't give a Restaurant five stars. I mean, my mother's cooking only gets four. But. The fact that this restaurant is off a major highway, and has the quality equal to any diner in New Jersey... Probably better, it deserves that extra star. One more tip if we're traveling past Binghamton look for the change in speed limit dropping it to 55 mph. If you get caught going over 80 look for a lawyer in Binghamton to handle your case, it will help you immensely of course don't bring your gun just a cannoli. read more

Average rating for an average restaurant. I came in with a large good for breakfast Waitress was friendly and despite our large party we still have an expected wait time for food. I got the veggie omelet. Everything was good, the best item ended up to be the thick, homemade bread. If that was all ordered I would give it a higher rating, but before I left I did order a blackberry pie. For what I had heard the pies here are a big deal and I believed it because they were displayed front and center when you walk into the restaurant. This pie ran below average compared to other pies I have had. Very forgettable and disappointing since they were talked up so much. Also the style of this place could use some help. The dining room could really use some remodeling their style is bland. read more

If you want to know how to kill a business just stop.here. ihabe been going there for many many years and had no complaints. We stopped there for breakfast this morning. We waited to be seated looking at two with their backs to us, one eating ant the other just talking to her. Finally we were seated. Waitress was brief and took our order. Were were served cold coffee and when I mentioned something, she said the cups made it cold and was told many people complain about it. My wife had pancakes with peaches and nuts.when they came of they were falling off the plate. Normally a good thing but 2 pancakes!! I had chicken fried steak, no taste, bland.. this used to be a great place to eat... very friendly waitresses and great service. No any more. read more

I've been going to this place since I was a wee lad. My family owns a few pieces of property up this way that they have littered with mobile homes and old lawn mowers. Whenever we go up to do the yearly lawn mow this place is a must. They bake their own complimentary bread and it's fantastic. This last time they were serving the poppy seed and raspberry bread slices. My dad always gets multiple helpings. Breakfast is always my favorite here. They bake all their own treats too. We took home some cream puffs. Over the years they have never squandered quality or service. So if you are ever going upstate or to NY you could pass on through. read more

Great place in the middle of nowhere for friendly service, socially distanced seating and a big menu with all the choices you could imagine including comfort foods like chicken pot pie and huge angus burgers. Servings were huge. Don't leave without a slice of pie. Our server was Irene who was a sweetheart. Very attentive and a great server. Be sure to tip the wait staff well! They work hard around here. Can get busy but masks are in effect and they adhere to social distancing rules. Definitely worth. Pit stop! read more

A stop for lunch on the way to Cayuga lake. Has indoor and outdoor seating, we chose outdoors. A bit chilly and windy, would have been nice to have the heaters on and to prevent the tent from flapping all around. Service was very friendly. Their bakery seems to have a large selection of pies, we didn't have any room left unfortunately to try. Menu is HUGE and prices are fair. Food was ok. Salad lettuce wasn't as fresh, with some browning noted. Some portion sizes were too small for my family (the boys eat a ton!). Options are sparse around this area, so was at least glad for a clean, friendly restaurant to grab a quick lunch. read more

Great service, fantastic bakery! I could not get the cream puff down quick enough. The cranberry bread was to die for. They also have great specials that I wish I had time to tryout. Since I live in California, it might be a while, but the pies will be in my dreams until then. read more

We were driving by here on the highway and decided that we would need to stop on the way back. We happened to stop on Pi day (3/14) which was appropriate given the number of pies this place has available. They had a Pi day special, so we all had pie. I would say that the pie was the best part of the meal. I cannot particularly recommend the main dishes. They were okay, but nothing special. My chicken and biscuits were good overall, but there was one large part of a biscuit (more than half) that was completely too hard to eat. I pointed this out to the server but was not offered anything other than an apology. I think that the sandwich called the Rachel that someone else at my table had looked better. I think if I was driving by here again I would mostly go for pie, or try to get breakfast food instead. read more

The pot roast was delicious as was the chicken pot pie. But the dessert really stole the show we had coconut cream pie that was fabulous. All of the waitresses were very gracious and accommodating. Dinner after a day of skiing. An all-encompassing menu. The place is right off I81. It has a bakery on site. Pies and breads are displayed as you enter the restaurant is to the right and the diner with booth seating is on the left. We ordered a Cobb salad and fish and chips. Service was friendly and prompt. Our server was Jamie. A selection of breads were brought over, nicely warmed. Very good. A really nice home style feel to the place. It is a byob. Fish & chips were ok. Batter was crispy but too thick and the fish was not moist. Clearly not just made. My wife enjoyed her Cobb salad and could not finish it. Extremely good value. ~$22 plus tip. We also bought a small loaf of the cherry nut bread for snacking later. Quite delicious. We would reeturn when in the area. Nancy & Mark. read more

Stopped off here while on the interstate and the food was amazing and inexpensive! I also bought a pie to take on the road.

Stopped here for lunch. Convenient to the highway and quick, so if that's what you need this spot will work. The food was ok. Not great but not bad. The pies were excellent. If I stopped again I think I'd skip lunch and just get a slice of pie and coffee. read more

Ate here for breakfast as we headed south. Binghams is famous for their baked goods especially their big loaves of cinnamon bread, $6.95 a loaf. My breakfast was delicious. I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelet with grilled tomatoes instead of potatoes My dining mate ordered eggs, homefries and the big bread cinnamon toast, all delicious. Food came out hot, plated nicely, reasonable prices. Besides the typical breakfast menu of assorted egg dishes, egg sandwiches, omelettes, French toast, waffles etc. The menu also features soups, salads, entrees, kids menu, burgers, and of course a hugh variety of homemade pies cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, and buns. All pies are 11 inches and weigh 54 ounces, $15 to $18 a whole pie. Pastry is hand rolled and crimped Friendly service in a comfortable atmosphere. read more

Delicious homemade food. Very satisfying. Dessert was amazing. Very decent prices. Place is very crowded and kind of chaotic on a Friday afternoon. Atmosphere and decor are blah and boring. Waitress was very nice and friendly even when she was overwhelmed. I would love to return and try more dishes and desserts...just not on the crowded weekend. Lots of parking! Easy to get to...right off the highway. read more

Classic American diner/roadside stop/family restaurant. We were staying nearby and ate there twice last week. Here's the brief: Burgers - solid! Large, seasoned, well cooked and on special on Wednesdays. Excellent large cut steak fries cooked perfectly Onion rings - crispy! And hot. Nice spicy dipping sauce. Cobb salad - abundant! Lots of good toppings on the bed of iceberg lettuce. Lasagna - luscious! Large portion, cheesy, tangy sauce, piping hot. The one lackluster item here is the sad starter salad that comes with dinner entrees. A little more effort is needed there, but its a side salad. BLT - loaded! They didn't scrimp on the bacon. Be sure to order a side. It is served with no accompaniment. Pies - now we are talking! I had two pieces of chocolate cream. Flaky crust and fudgy pudding filling. Apple has a nice flaky double crust. Peanut butter was great. But here is what you need to know. GET THE BREAD! Buy a whole loaf on the way out. I bought white and just had the most sublime grilled cheese with it when I got home from my trip. The rest is going in the freezer to be made into French Toast this weekend. When you order any sandwich, you can request the homemade bread. Do it. What a treat! read more

I'm adding another star after making a return visit today-we skipped lunch in favor of dessert for lunch. The coconut cream pie was excellent (though I'd prefer coconut custard, for better textural contrast with the whipped cream), and Blue Eyes loved her strawberry rhubarb slice as well. I'll report back after tomorrow's breakfast slice of lemon poppyseed loaf that I'll toast with my morning coffee. read more

So we randomly popped in here with our small children on a road trip for an early dinner. It greatly exceeded expectations. The very good: Chicken Pot Pie, Buffalo Chicken sub (grilled chicken but every bit as good as any fried chicken Buffalo sub I've had), the free breads (all 3 were outstanding), the ice cream sundae, the cream puff, the various cookies, the service, they had PB&J for the kids!!!!!!!! Social distancing was great everywhere except the lobby (which is probably unavoidable for them). The prices I also thought were fair. The good enough: Waffle fries (could have used 60 seconds more in the fryer) The not so good: house salad, steak fries (get the waffle fries or something else). Overall 5/5 very good food with just a couple misses and very good value. Kid friendly, FYI *very* busy at 4:45 and less busy when we left at 5:45. read more

Fish gave me food poisoning, its 12:06am the night of eating at Binghams and either this fish or their corn gave me food poisoning 100%. My family ate here about 1 year ago and we had a great experience. Today it's the complete opposite, my one daughter had a BLT which was the only thing that was edible. I asked the waitress if they had a change in chef and she admitted they were hit hard by the pandemic and the staff is almost completely new. Never, ever, again. read more

I don't know how this place has so many reviews and yet only a few mention the absolutely decadent cream puffs. I have been to Binghams several times when I lived in the area north of here and was visiting family. We stopped yesterday only to pick up a pie and some of their great bread. The stop is an easy off/on from Interstate 81. We bought a loaf of bread and picked up one of their Fruits of the Forest pies. It is very tasty and won't last as long as it probably should but with three people digging at it, it's going to be gone! The place was closed for awhile because of a bad fire, but it has been rebuilt and is quite new and nice inside. If I'm in the area again, we'll have to have breakfast or dinner. Great place for a break if you're driving the interstate! read more

This seems to be a Bakery which a Restaurant grew around. Food is wonderful but don't forget the Baked goods. Homemade Breads, pies - whole or by slice- and Cream Puffs (omg). We did Waffle Fries, Ale Battered Moz sticks (both super - none of that processed stuff), Fish and Chips were great. Came with Hush Puppies. Desserts? Well, like I said, it's a bakery. ANY pie, cake or bread is award winning caliber. We did Takeout twice. Inside was very open, inviting and clean though. Even Lunch, with. Great food, soup was delicious, staff couldn't have been nicer. Don't skip the pie...

They have amazing customer service and their chicken and biscuits are my favorite! Also their bakery is fantastic!

The pies here look so wonderful, and with a pie named "Fruits of the Forest" who wouldn't want to try it?? They have a 45 minute huge breakfast special for $2.50 too from 6-6:45AM. Can't miss with that. I think it may just be M-F, but it sounded like quite a big breakfast. They bring you a small plate with two dinner rolls and some delicious sweet bread, which for us was chocolate chip almond - it was sooo good!! I started with the split pea and ham soup, which was delicious, but had almost too much ham in it (if you can imagine that!) for me. My entree was the stuffed cabbage (two that were huge) which were pretty good. Not as good as mine, or my mother's, but good. It could have used more onion and had it been baked in the tomato sauce rather than just putting it on when serving it, it would have been much tastier and more moist. I asked for the mini potato pancakes, which were delicious and the butternut squash, which was excellent. My partner started with a house salad with the homemade sweet and sour dressing, which she just loved. Her entree was the penne in vodka sauce with shrimp. The shrimps were really big and tasty, but it was really swimming in the sauce, so too much for her. She said the garlic bread was very delicious. We each ended our visit with a piece of pie, fruits of the forest for me - oh so good, and pecan for her, which she enjoyed as well. The portions here are big, so we ended up taking half of it as a take out. I would definitely hit this place again if I'm in the area. They've got a huge menu with some excellent choices!! read more

This is the best roadside stop you could ever make. It's so good, you should make a trip for the restaurant instead of just stopping while on the way. Not only is the pie better than advertised (and it is advertised as incredible pie), but the food is nothing to complain about either. I visit every chance I get. The raspberry pie is my personal favorite, and the Cuban sandwich they made was delectable. Make sure to take home not just pie, but the to-die-for cinnamon rolls and sticky buns. Related to COVID-19, they are offering outdoor seating and have the seating adjusted for social distancing. They also have the doors marked for one-way traffic. Definitely making sure to keep everything and everyone comfortable and safe without sacrificing service or food quality. read more

Fast efficient service, good affordable food. Clean and Cozy. Baked Goods are next level. Big Yes.

I've been coming to Binghams for at least 25 years, or as long as it's been around. It is, without comparison, the best restaurant on 81 between the NY state line and Clark's Summit. Our cabin is 15 minutes away, and many a meals out have been a unanimous vote for Binghams. First, the menu is overwhelming. So much selection. The most recent visit was an excellent grilled chicken/feta/walnut/cranberry salad, along with a very good bowl of chilli. That said, if you want it they have it. More offerings than you can shake a PennDot worker's unused shovel at. And yes, the food is good. Not gourmet, but down-home, straight up, square meal. You get what mom would have made you. Don't stop at dinner. The pies are excellent...so good, that Obama apparently has heard of them also, and stopped in August to pick a few up. They are excellent! Service has always been good, and the interior, clean and new! Our family is glad Bingham's rebuilt following the fire a few years back; it was sorely missed while it was gone, and would have been mourned had it not rebuilt! read more
