What a great diner! I love stopping here when we're traveling nearby. The homemade breads and pies are insane. Sweetbreads, cinnamon raisin, White bread and at least 1/2 dozen flavors of pies. Breakfast was simple and the prices are very reasonable here. My soft scrambled eggs with grilled ham and cinnamon raisin toast was perfect. My husband had a delicious egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on their homemade white bread. The service is excellent and the place is always neat and clean.

Road tripping with the dog and we needed a quick breakfast. Stumbled across this place and it was just what we needed. Two sandwiches to go w/a cup of coffee. Everything was exceptional- service was fast and friendly. Can't wait for our return trip!

We both chose the French onion soup and a luncheon melt special. The soup was robust with plenty of onions although the cheese was generally melted and not broiled. Both of the meats were very good and the service was very prompt and precise. We look forward to our return trip every year.

We drove by this town and grabbed lunch here. It was raining but warm and cozy inside . There are many different types of pie inside, they all look good. Here are what we ordered: Chicken Pot Pie - crust is ok but the filling is too salty Chicken Carbonara - taste is perfect Liver and Onion - a little bit sweet but not too sweet, the potato is yummy Chicken corn chowder - too much stuff in the soup, can't taste too much of the soup, but it is great for ppl who are hungry I still recommend this place if you are in the area.

Bingham's isn't exactly on the beaten path for us as Los Angeles, California residents, but it is about halfway between Allentown, PA and Syracuse, NY which made it the perfect place for a relatives meetup between the two cities. So we did! Bingham's is a comfortable American restaurant with super-friendly staff and all the American comforts you could want for breakfast and pies to boot. We're vegetarians so there usually isn't any kind of issue finding something to eat off a breakfast menu and the portions and food we received served our needs. I had egg whites with potatoes and a biscuit. Everything was cooked as it should be though I'm not as much a fun of biscuits cooked on the grill after being baked, but that's just a personal preference. The egg whites were cooked perfectly which is not always a given at places on or off the beaten path. Our kid had the walnut waffle which was generous in size and look and he liked it. My wiff had eggs over easy with potatoes and they were perfectly prepared as well. The coffee was okay. I'm a fan of super-strong coffee and this was a level or so above "browned water" so not "send-backable" but not exactly what I'd hoped for. We'd definitely come again on the way to and from PA or NY.

We stop at Binghams whenever we drive down to NYC. We stipped by yesterday and you can never go wrong with any of the menu items. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed with huge desserts. When we were seated there was a really cold breeze coming through and our waitress allowed us to move tables. Our waitress was Delany and she was really sweet and attentive. I ordered the chicken pot pie and french onion soup. The chicken pot pie came with a side salad. The salad was great, just your typical salad and then the french onion soup came out next. The french onion soup was pretty good! The broth was flavorful and the only adjust I'd make would be the cheese type. Lastly, the chicken pot pie was a large portion and delicious as well. You can tell they take pride in their food and desserts. This is a must when you're driving along the highway.

Great little no-frills-diner-roadside-type joint just off of I-81. While traveling through PA, I found myself in need of nourishment in an area devoid of options. Have no fear, Binghams is near! After browsing the extensive menu, I opted for the Alpine Burger as all burgers were $9.99 on Wednesdays. With Swiss and mushrooms, this hearty burger, steak fries, and bottomless coffee had me filled up for hours of more highway travel. Service was welcoming and friendly, I was in-and-out quickly. Just didn't have room to sample any of their wide selection of great looking pies!

Consistently great food. Amazing desserts. You always have to take some home. My favorites are raspberry pie and cream puffs.

Nonetheless, the towns of route 11 still have hungry denizens, and that's where Jenny Leigh's comes in! Now located 200 yards from where the original establishment sat prior to falling victim to fire, Jenny Leigh's is situated in an impressive Victorian home in Kingsley. Step inside, and it has a completely relaxed atmosphere, with an eclectic gathering of various tables, chairs, and outdoorsy memorabilia. We sat at an old workbench in the back, which made for a delightful table. Everything about Jenny Leigh's backs up the name "country cooking", except the anachronistic juke box on the wall that requires-gasp- a cell phone app to control it. Otherwise, it is wonderfully rustic. That said, the atmosphere is bright, cheerful, and inviting. Places like this could give off the vibe of "locals only, please", where people in dark shadows grunt and stare at you for your entire meal; nonesuch here. A counter adorns the front room, and in two more rooms, tables are scattered. Three families were eating, with another group of retirees gathered happily and swapping tales at the table nearest to us. None gave us that menacing look or the "whatch you doin' here...get out!" vibe. All friendly! The waitress was spot on with coffee refills, and most importantly, the country cooking was great. I had the "Smash Up"= a combination of cubed potatoes, eggs, suasage, peppers, cheese and onions for $5.99, kids sampled sticky buns and bacon and pancakes; wife had cinnamon-raisin French toast and loved it as well. Prices are reasonable (most under $6) and the food was really good. Verdict? Big fan. We love Saturday morning breakfasts out while staying in Harford, and with the absence of our 10-year staple-the Stables in Montrose- we are searching all options. WIth Jenny Leigh's closest and- for now- the best, it looks as if we have found a wonderful new breakfast option!

We looked at a few different options for places to eat and thought this one would be nice for a sit down discussion. We got there around 10 AM and a few patrons were scattered about. Quite a variety of different places to sit, we sat at a table for two near the bar. Handed a breakfast/lunch menu so many things looked so good. We weren't sure what to go with so we asked for some of their favorites. We were offered suggestions on the avocado toast and the poppy. I went with the avocado toast. As always, I bagged the onion and kept all the other ingredients which included avocado spread, spinach, tomato, sunflower seeds, and an egg over easy. You have a choice of toast, including white, wheat, or rye. Gotta go with wheat! Absolutely a terrific place to go to and support the local community and get everything you'd want and one of those chain type coffee shops (you know the green one I'm talking about) and get a much more natural, even lower cost option

However, the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the quiche and the avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Potatoes were burned, well, charred really. They did take them off the bill. Quiche was so so, and the avocado toast had a ton of raw spinach on it, which was hard to eat along with the toast. Should have come steamed or sautéed instead. Bacon was good though! I was very excited about the pastry case at first since everything in there looked fresh and home made, but when I was trying to decide what to get "to go", like one of their muffins, I saw flies buzzing around and landing on the items. No thank you. I know flies are around in the summer, but the pastry case should be shielded from bugs at all times. I think if I were in the area I may give this place another chance since I liked other things about it like the atmosphere and the fact that it did look like a local family favorite.

Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab.
