I recently went in for service at Bill Pearce Honda and was offered replacement tires under their "tires for life" program. As much as I appreciate the new tires, it is unfortunate that they installed generic all season tires instead of the tire that came with the vehicle when I purchased it new. I spoke with the so called customer service person and he said I needed to mention my preference ahead of time and pay the difference for the prefer tires. That would have been fine had I known they were going to install generic tires ahead of time. I was never informed this would happen nor was I given an opportunity to opt for original equipment. I assumed it would have been original equipment (OEM). Of course they would not offer to replace them now since they are used tires. That would have been the correct thing to do in the pursuit of customer service. He said that I need to wait another 30K miles for the next tires exchange to get it resolved. It cost me $150 for the mounting and balancing and that is not exactly free tires either. Now I will need to visit my local tire company to purchase better tires to remedy the problem customer service only applied mouth service to. The customer service person simply stated he was there to help me. Some help. Just another corporate guy. This is not an experience I care to repeats. Vehicle service is not supposed to be stressful, it's easy to keep customers but hard to attract them. As much as I like the Honda product, it's now time to switch brands maybe back to Mazda. We received a solicitation re buy-back offers, we entered our car data online, received a number, made an appointment, and they had a check prepared for us - all within a couple hours! The person we dealt with was Pam. She was kind and efficient. The only thing that was a bit off with our experience is she seemed to think it was only my husband that she needed to talk to when, in fact, the car was originally mine (to cart our kids around all over as they grew up). One of the worst dealer service experience I have encountered in decades of car ownership! While beginning with a friendly and informative service advisor Juliann, the experience snowballed downhill from there. My 2024 Prologue was towed in during a Turo rental. First off I was called to complete a satisfaction survey BEFORE the serviced was performed. Secondly I was charged almost $600 to inform me that the vehicle was drained to 2% charge. One hour to diagnose, one hour to charge and a third hour to rest the computer system PLUS $40 in "shop materials". THEN......and this is the most disturbing part...... Both I AND the Turo tow service unsuccessfully attempted for TRHEE DAYS days to get in touch with a service representative to release the vehicle to tow back to me in redwood city. I called, texted, got redirected, disconnected until I finally got a live representative. Days of frustration and finally speaking with service advisor who informed me that there would be no discount for this mess. Bud the manager of the service department was extremely unprofessional in how he was talking to me. I have quite literally never been treated like this in a customer service senario before. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle from here, please do not. He told me that if you aren't getting any service done here then he has no interest in trying to support me and my situation. I needed a loaner for a day until my warranty could approve a rental and he laughed in my face saying that I signed a contract stating they are not liable to help me at all. Had my car towed to get fixed here. Was told coil on number 3 spark plug was bad. Got it back and invoice said they replaced number 4. Month or so later same issue. Had it towed again. Said it was under warranty and they said they replaced number 4 again. Drove it to South Lake Tahoe and ended up stranded again! Had it towed a third time. I was supposed to be going out of town that week to spend my dad's ashes. Had to get a rental car. Was told it was number three this time ( same thing they said the first time. This time instead of $300 they wanted $700. When I mentioned the text that I had a copy of from the original fix. They didn't care saying it was a typo. My husband had them order the part and was going to replace it himself in their lot. They called me two more times asking how they could make it right but wouldn't do anything about the cost. I finally told him there was no solution and I would have to share my experience here. They canceled the part order. My husband had to get it from a different dealership and had it fixed in ten minutes. When he opened the hood of the car it was number two they'd replaced!!! Not number four. As an special education teacher if I make a typo on an IEP I have to provide what I wrote whether I intended it or not. Not sure where integrity has gone but it's not here. read more

The experience I had while buying a new car from this dealership was most unsatisfactory. This was the second Honda CR-V I had bought from them, so it was not like I was a new customer.......... My previous CR-V was a 2012 model, purchased on 1/23/2015, and I purchased an extended, 84-month warranty for that vehicle, to the tune of $1.577.00. On the warranty contract, they crossed out the warranty period date of 1/23/2015 (when I purchased it) and wrote in a date, back dated to the original build date of the car, 4/24/2012. I thought this was rather sketchy from the start, but the story gets more unfair, from my point of view as we fast forward to the purchase of my new, 2019 CR-V on 3/10/2019. I purchased my new car when Ryan Alford called me to encourage me to replace my old car. He was very pleasant to deal with, and I thought I had worked out all the details of buying a new car, including the credit application on the phone and through an online application. When I came in to pick up the car however, it took four interminable hours to complete the purchase process. Most of this time was spent in the finance office, being encouraged to buy numerous add-on packages. During this process, I was told that if I bought an extended warranty, ON A NEW CAR, for god's sake, that if I didn't use it during the warranty period, I would be refunded the purchase price of that warranty. Now we come to my big beef with this dealership. I had bought the same extended warranty on my old car, never used it, and was not offered a refund on that warranty. How could I possibly trust this company to refund me the price of an extended warranty on my new car if I never used it????? That extended warranty represented a sizable chunk of money to me, which was a waste in retrospect, and I am frankly surprised that Bill Pearce Courtesy Honda had such a lack of faith in the quality of their cars that they would even suggest an extended warranty on a new car. I also fail to understand why, when I would decline any of the add on packages like a clear protective film, extended warranty, etc, etc, the finance man would not accept no for an answer and would continue to harp on and on about buying this or that, using scare tactics, crazy math, etc. I probably said no at least a half dozen times to each add on proposed. I paid the asking price on this automobile, paid for every one of the extras like security etching and the all-weather mats and didn't ask for a single break on ANYTHING, and still that wasn't enough for this company. Needless to say, I am incredibly disinclined to ever buy another car from Bill Pearce Courtesy Honda and certainly would not feel comfortable referring anyone I know to buy from them. I even drove all the way up from Gardnerville to buy from them (not stopping in Carson City to buy) and am so incredibly disappointed in the service and total lack of consideration, shown to me by this dealership. On top of all of this, when I came in with my husband to pick up the car, the salesman completely ignored me first, going to my husband to introduce himself initially, instead, when I was the one who had filled out all the forms, used my excellent credit rating only, and did all the communication up to that point. I know this is a little thing, but to me, it represented how behind the times this company is with regards to women, surprisingly so, since it is apparently owned by a women. We bought a new Honda Odyssey van here a couple of months back. I waited to do this review until some time passed and I could evaluate all aspects of this business. After having a accident with our Dodge Caravan, we decided to buy another minivan. Dodge stopped making caravan in 2020. Since Covid and some issues with Micro chip shortage has caused the market to go crazy, car dealerships have decided to start tacking on as much as $10,000 to the MSRP for what has been labeled ' market or convenience fee." We checked van prices for all the major competitors and yes it has gone crazy. 1. So the first five star qualification as that Bill Pierce courtesy Honda does not do this for locals. So we actually were able to get the minivan at MSRP. No convenience fee no markup. 2. Next five star qualification: they gave us top dollar for our dodge caravan trade-in. even with the damage on the front. I was off on the mileage by like 5000 miles, the guy came in and told me that we told him the miles wrong, but he still was going to give us the same amount quoted. 3. They have a program where if you do all of your service with Bill Pierce, they well replace your tires for free. I put a lot of miles on this van the first year, and we have just received our first set of free tires. Also, they were able to locate quite a few different incentives to reduce the price. 4. Customer service. We've done all of our new car maintenance here, they are very friendly, cost-effective, and timely. They provide a free shuttle for customers so they do not have to sit and wait. And don't forget those free tires... 5. The whole car buying process was quite enjoyable. They made sure we understood each aspect and made us feel very comfortable. No high pressure sales. When you head to finance, you know you're going to be hit with all of the options to tack on: warranties, Scotchgard, paint protection, chip protection... You know all the stuff they try. The finance guy here was quite nice and told us upfront that he had quite a few options and didn't really try to pressure us. We wanted some of the options, and the guy worked with us on the price. Over the years we have purchased from Ford 4 times, dodge 2 times and RV country. Bill Pierce Honda was absolutely the Best experience of them all. (Plus don't forget, free tire) read more

First off let me tell you that this experience is not from buying a car from this dealership. I bought a Honda a few years ago in Carson City Nevada. I was having problems pairing my phone to my car stereo. I had this issue before, and as I was in Carson City, the Honda dealer helped me out. I had the issue again, but since I live in Reno, figured they could help me out at the Reno location. I guess I was wrong. I asked a salesman who was not busy and looked bored if he could help me with my issue. The salesman said that he would come look at it, but as he was about to step outside, the manager came out and said that no one was allowed to help me. It is not so much that he wouldn't help, as in the outright hostile attitude. The manager acted like we asked him to detail our car for free. I would think that they would like to help people that are supporting the sales of the brand of cars that they sell. Like I mentioned, there were no customers on the lot, and they appeared to be doing nothing. As a side note, I stopped by T-mobile, and a nice gentleman was able to sync my phone in about 2 minutes. I will definitely frequent that T-mobile next time I upgrade my phone; however, I will not patronize Bill Pearce Honda ever again. To treat a potential future customer so poorly, reflects badly on the business. I love Honda's, but I will shop elsewhere, and will encourage everyone that I know to shop elsewhere. read more

In our search of New and Used SUV's we stopped in here to see the Honda CR-V's. We noticed right away that there was only a small difference between the used prices and the new prices. Why would anyone buy 2-3 years old and a lease vehicle when they can buy a new one for 3 grand more? It seems they give a longer warranty on the used to try and push them out but it still makes no sense to us. So now we started looking at the new CR-V's and the CR-V Hybrids. Russell was so helpful and one of the best car salesmen that I have run across in a long while. He was polite and knowledgeable and offered us lots of information. We test drove the Hybrid and loved it. We found out that they were making big changes in the next few years so we decided to wait until we replace our Hyundai. We really like the one we drove but wanted to think about it. Our Salesman was cooperative and we told him by phone that we decided to go a different route at this time. But I can almost guarantee we will get the Hybrid when they are done with the changes and we hope we can use Russell at that time. read more

Typically my wife gets the oil change on our civic at the quickie places. I know from experience, it's not that much more at the dealer, and the person working on your car is of a higher caliber that the Jiffy lube worker. I used a coupon from their website for the 59.00 express oil change and tire rotation, and chose to wait while it was being serviced. Their waiting room had mediocre coffee and donuts, and the children's waiting room looked like a 80's flashback.
