I've have disagreed with Bob's about the longevity of their brake jobs in the past. I believe that…read morethe length between brake jobs is much shorter for their brake repairs than it should be . Paul and Joe believe that the New York winters and my driving habits negatively and severely impact brake life. Fair enough. I now have another disagreement. Bob's performed a rear brake job on my 2019 Camry Hybrid LE on 5/1/2025 when the car had 50,284 miles on it. This means that the original brakes lasted 50,284 miles. Bob's installed Adaptive One rotors and Silent Guard ceramic pads. The charge for the job was $554.94. Today, October 1, 2026, I received a recommendation from West Herr Toyota in Canandaigua after they performed a safety inspection on the car. They recommend a rear brake job as the rear brake pads are now less than 2mm in thickness. The mileage on the car is 59,148. I should mention that the ORIGINAL front brake pads were measured at 8 mm. Expected lifetime of these parts is over 110K miles. Bob's brake repair lasted only 8864 miles, 17 months or 1 New York winter or 41,420 miles LESS THAN the original brakes lasted. Take your pick. As I mentioned earlier, Paul and Joe disagree with me on how long brakes should last. Further, they are emphatic that they only guarantee brake jobs for a year. There is no point in talking with them about this terrible performance. I will be taking my car elsewhere for maintenance in the future. I can't afford brake jobs every 10k miles.
