Deluxe thali
Natalie L.

I haven't had much Northern Indian food before, and the stuff I had here was delicious! The owner was really friendly and helpful when it came to recommendations, and she even gave us a complimentary special puri dish! It was filled with yogurt, pomegranate, and chutney, and it made a really balanced and refreshing bite. The yogurt itself that came with some other dishes, like the veggie paratha and deluxe thali, was absolutely fresh too. I also loved the daal and aloo subzi puri (WHICH WERE HUGE). The puri that came with it were spiced and texturally really interesting. Man, the prices are pretty great too, but maybe that's just the Bay Area resident in me who's used to things being at LEAST $18. Counting down the days until I come back, especially for their carbs. Drooling.

Yummy food! Snacks and meals if you order the thali, it's a cute place with great service and good ambiance! Will def be back

If you're craving authentic North Indian flavors, Bikanervala is a spot that delivers on taste and quality. I tried the Paneer Butter Masala, and it was absolutely delicious -- rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The Basmati rice was fluffy and fragrant, pairing beautifully with the paneer. The Garlic Naan was soft, well-buttered, and had just the right amount of garlic kick. To start, I had a Samosa, and it arrived piping hot -- crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The dipping sauces (especially the tamarind and mint chutneys) were spot on and really elevated the appetizer. Overall, Bikanervala nailed the classic North Indian experience. Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or just getting started, this place is worth a visit! The place is pretty clean and new too! I liked it. They also sell pastries / desserts as well. The workers were nice and super sweet too. They did check on me to see how the food was. I'd recommend them!

Honestly this place was not good at all. My piayz kachori was gross, it looked like they just put it in the microwave. I ordered another raj kachori because that's what I wanted but she gave me piyaz and didn't even refund my money back ... Raj kachori the outer shell was fried in bad oil, and full of sweet yogurt u couldn't taste any of the fillings. Paneer was sweet, Naan was k. All flavorless and sweet. Their number system they need to work on. They gave my food to another order so I had to wait another 20 minutes for my food. I had to tell him I have been waiting forever. I really just wanted my money back but it's an Indian restaurant so what can I expect, no refunds. Horrible place I would never come back.

Paneer pakora (4 pieces total, we ate 3)

Amazing food and taste. Staff is friendly too it is self service and you have to place order at counter. There are water filters for fresh water. The paneer pakora had some stuffing in it which made it taste nice and fresh. The pyaaz kachori was delicious. The deluxe thali was the highlight. The laccha paratha, the daal makhani, shahi paneer, the sweet all absolutely spot on. Loved it.

A friend of mine recommended trying establishment since they open recently. The owner happened to be present and was extremely helpful and friendly. I ended up taking a pound of the Bengali sweets, which were delicious and reminded me of my childhood days growing up in India. Also tried their Pav bhaji which was also delicious. I would highly recommend Trying them out

India is always close to my heart so indian food is soul food. Ask me to rate the food and my nostalgic bias kicks in . I am harder on indian restuarants then others but bikanerwala passed my test. Ambience 5star Food 5plus stars Service 5 star Must try the onion kachori.. Loved ever bit of it... only downside was the disposable plates and silverware

Falooda

Was excited to try this place as my dads family is from Bikaner. Really was looking forward to ordering a Raj Cahori but they ran out the day before, we order papdi chaat instead but it was just average and very small portions. Chole batura the larger size at $14 came with 2 batura and tiny bowl of chole , chole were on the spicier side, but decent taste , but dont order the double batura when there is barely enough chole for 1. Dhokla was ok , a little dense, but not overly sweet. Ordered falooda ice cream , was a complete disappointment as it texture was very grainy , there was no tukmaria or rose syrup in it either. I probably would not go back. Rasmali was good. Saag and makki roti , i was told roti was on dry side

Chhole Bhature
Dharmendra S.

Have been thinking to try this for couple of months but was pushed back after looking at yelp ratings. Finally tried yesterday. First bite of chhole was straight from streets of Delhi, best chhole I had in US. Bhature needs some improvement as it became papad few minutes after serving. This is not same as usual Bhature I had in Bikanervala in India. Deluxe thali and Aloo paratha were amazing. Exact same taste that we had many many times in India. At the end, couldn't resist taking home those yummy sweets.

The owner aunty is very sweet and polite. We tried the chole bhature here and those were really nice. Then the paneer tikkas were also very nicely made. The best part was the packing. The chole and paneer tikkas were so well. Very professionally done. Sealed off the box and achaar bro I didn't have to worry about anything spilling in my car lol. Amazing overall.

Deluxe thaali beautifully packed .

We are so delighted that finally we have an Indian restaurant in Diamond Bar serving delicious vegetarian food bursting with flavors. There is so much variety ranging from chaats to desi street foods to their thaalis. Had their chole bhature, samosa chaat and both hit the spot. The masala chai is just wow And, their array of mithai( Indian desserts) is terrific. Gulab Jamun, pedas,, bengali sweets, kaju barfi, mathura petha ...... Give this place a try .. Highly recommend!!

First time visiting here after hearing many great things about this place…read more Pad Thai: One of our favorite dishes. The noodle is chewy and the flavor is great (not too sweet and salty). Highly recommend this. Chicken Satay: This is our other favorite dishes. The chicken is tender and well seasoned. This is a great alternative for their popular crying tiger in terms of the portion and pricing. Papaya Salad: I was a bit disappointed with this. The papaya salad is lack of flavoring (specifically the garlic taste). It's not very marinated. Tom Yum Soup: We got a small bowl of the seafood tom yum soup. The portion is great for 2 people, but don't expect too much seafood from it. The flavor is good, so it's still a great soup option. Non-Sweet Sticky Rice: Unlike other places, their sticky rice is served as a dessert, you can still taste the coconut flavor. Most other traditional Thai places serve sticky rice as unsweetened and plain (i.e., jasmine rice soaked overnight). Not really mad about this. The service was absolutely amazing. We made a reservation ahead of time to avoid waiting in line. I'm glad we did because there were already people waiting when we arrived at 6pm. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. Overall, Basil & co. is a great Thai restaurant option in town, but I wouldn't say it is the BEST Thai restaurant I ever had.

The search is over. I declare House of Fortune Vegan Cuisine as my family's go-to vegetarian…read morerestaurant. A few of our favorite vegetarian restaurants have been closing down lately, so my mom and I have been searching for a new spot. We were SO HAPPY and SO SATISFIED with the food and the spectacular service here. Everything here is vegan. If the name has a protein in it, just know that it is a faux version made of mushroom or tofu skin. Since it was our first visit, we ordered a lot hoping to find a few good dishes, but we were pleasantly surprised that everything was delicious. House Hot Tea ($3) - Great deal for a pot of hot tea for the table. Very complimentary to the food. Hot and Sour Soup ($11.95) - Warm, soothing. I love that it's a chunky sweet and sour soup. Lettuce Wraps ($11.95) - Fresh appetizer to compliment all of the other warm items. This was really crunchy and well textured, which you can lose with vegetarian/vegan food. Crispy Oyster Mushroom ($19.95) - MUST ORDER! One of our favorites. The mushroom has a tasty batter and it's deep fried with basil. Simple but delicious. Sesame Crispy Fish ($17.95) - MUST ORDER! Super crunchy and flavorful. I think it's made from seaweed and tofu skin but it has the crispiness of baby fish. General Tso Chicken ($16.95) - A really good mushroom alternative. We were really surprised how much we liked it. I haven't had the meat version of the general tso chicken, but I'm digging this vegan version. Chicken Fried Rice ($13.95) - A good base for all of the delicious food. My mom commented that it was too bland, but I feel like if it was any more seasoned I can't eat other entrée items with it. To me it's a base, and it was what we needed to round out the meal. Great friendly service from beginning to end. They were really good about refilling our water, giving my mom extra napkins, helping us pack up our leftovers, and all those small thoughtful touches throughout the meal. We will DEFINITELY be back soon!

The atmosphere is unassuming, modest, and quaint. There has always been plenty of seating whenever I've visited, but I have seen the tables fill very quickly, especially around dinner time. The one and only downside is the portions for the price, but I don't blame the business for that. This economy is not friendly for restaurants, let alone a vegan restaurant. I have eaten from this place a handful of times. I am not even vegetarian, but I will continue to support this business because I support Asian owned businesses. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for authentic vegan Chinese food, even if you are not vegan.

Great food, front-of-house needs a bit of work…read more.. We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch a week ahead and thankfully we did as they had booked up at least 1 or 2 days before. Parking is super easy as it's in a plaza and shares a big lot with other businesses. They had a special menu, so I'm not too sure what is and is not part of their usual menu, but this is what we ordered: 1. Baltimore Crab Cakes (comes with 2): we were pleasantly surprised as it came with a side salad; the crab cakes themselves were not dry at all and came with a good amount of crab. Delicious, 5/5 2. Heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad: one of the things they pride themselves on is sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainably. You can really tell with this dish that all of their ingredients are really high-quality and fresh. The stonefruit was super sweet. The price ($18) was a bit high for the portion size, so this was a 4/5 for us. 3. Crab & tonnarelli: really good cook on the pasta; my husband is really picky on pasta that's overcooked, but this came to us perfectly al dente. There was a good amount of crab as well, so we appreciated that they didn't skimp. That said, the taste was a bit one-toned and underseasoned, which is a lot coming from us since we typically complain about food being too salty. If it came with a bit more salt, it would've been one of our favorites. 3.5 (maybe 4)/5 4. Pork sisig and garlic rice: we love sisig, so we had to order it. While it was super flavorful and delicious, we couldn't finish it on the spot since it was pretty salty and we were getting full. We did take it home and cook some more vegetables into it to dilute the salt a bit. 4/5 5. Ricotta cheese pancakes: super fluffy and airy, you can tell why they need 20 minutes to prep them. Again, the fruit they used was super fresh and sweet. Loved, no notes. 5/5 Service-wise, there were some hiccups with our orders. Our salad came to us without the burrata and when we asked them about it, it took about 3-4 people double-checking their menu to confirm it actually came with burrata, then a handful more minutes to rectify it. It seemed strange to me that they were unfamiliar with their own menu. Our pork sisig dish came out much later than every other dish and our waiter had to check up on it a few times, so it may have just gotten missed. There seemed to be a lot of people working in the front, but somehow hard to flag them down and get helped when we needed it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was Mother's Day and I'm sure it was busier than usual. Our waiter was also gracious in comping a drink as a result of the long wait for the sisig. Overall, we'll still come back as we want to try other dishes and we do appreciate the freshness of the ingredients and their integration of vegetables with dishes, which can sometimes be hard to come by. Just wanted to provide some feedback on service in hopes they'll take it constructively.

Fresh, clean, and reasonably priced; it's the kind of spot that earns a regular spot in your rotation without putting a dent in your wallet. It is filling in the best possible way, the kind of meal that carries you through the whole day and has you already thinking about the next visit before you've even finished it. It just hits the spot. The crispy cauliflower is worth every bite too... perfectly done and the kind of dish that makes you forget you're eating something good for you. And the house salad?
