Best brisket sandwich I have ever eaten. We stopped here after spending all day in the mountains. Didn't really have high expectations. But it was convenient to the highway back to Atlanta. Bigun's is a bbq restaurant with both seating inside and outside with the option of drive thru as well. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it had nothing in it other than the meat but it came with slices of pickle, bbq sauce, and white vinegar. It comes in a 4 oz or 6 oz size. You have to order sides separately. My mom had the brisket plate and got the sides of coleslaw and Mac n cheese. We all liked the coleslaw and they gave you a lot which was nice. Mac n cheese was solid as well. My dad got the 3 meat combo and ordered sausage, brisket, and ribs. To be honest, their pricing is weird. It says $18.99 but then depending on the choice of meat, they charge differently. Even the person who took our order said it doesn't make sense. Anyways, for the sides, my dad got the french fries and Brunswick stew. Now, all the food was pretty good and 3 stars is pretty good to me, not great but good. The reason it's not a 4 star rating for me is because half way through, it just got waaaay too salty and sweet. All in all, it totaled to around $50.00 which is definitely reasonable for bbq. Service was friendly and once we ordered, the food came out quickly (however, ordering took a while--they would benefit from having more than one person taking orders outside). The ambiance was pleasant, even through it was a busy place. Now mind you it's apple season so the place is busy with "leafers" and "applers." Wow!!! This place was WAY better than the hype! They had a ton of gluten free options. I was also really excited to see Lima beans and Black eyed peas on the menu. Lots of options! Had a nice lunch at Biguns BBQ on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived about 12:30pm and the line was long but it moved well. We ordered the 4 meat meal we had pork, chicken , sausage and brisket. Also ordered a sweet tea. We ate in the restaurant which was homey and clean. Overall we enjoyed all the meats we ordered and all the sauce options they have at the table, there were 6 options. I saw this place on the side of the road and it looked like a true bbq destination. I ordered some food and waited for them to deliver it to the table. The Mac n cheese was good. Understated in its appearance but the flavors were very good. The Brunswick stew was too sweet. It tasted like I was spooning into a lot of bbq sauce and not enough good good items. The turkey was roasted and barely had any discernible Smokey flavor. It was a bit dry. My traveling companion took care of it. The meats were pretty good. The pork was a bit mushed up but the brisket was good and the ribs were meaty. The overall on the food was a 4. That was a light 4. Really more like a 3.5. I'm giving them a 3 overall because of the manager. She was quite unreasonable and accusatory from a simple misunderstanding. It was more important for her to feel that she was right then to listen to a customer and handle a situation properly. Bringing out the asst manager Justin as some type of intimidation factor was not smart nor necessary. As I was waiting to place my order, I overheard the two women in front of me complaining that she didn't get something from her order and the same for the other woman. I can believe it because they forgot my Texas toast and it is what they recommended to me. I might try them again if I am in the area again but I'm not going to seek them out. read more

While Apple shopping and leaf gazing today 2 friends and I discovered a barbecue gem in Talking Rock Ga. Bigun's Barbecue is fantastic. We tried a lot of the menu and all was delicious. Ribs, chicken, sausage, collards, onion rings, and the brisket, best I have had, sorry Fox Bros. Fork tender, just the right amount of fat and burnt ends. This was great. They have a great area set up for social distancing at the moment with a lot of open picnic tables spaced apart and a place you can go to order outside from the counter. Read a bunch of good reviews and didn't have much going on so I figured what the heck, go take a drive. This place is really far away, like an hour and a half away but went anyways. The food was good. I did a 4 meat sampler because since I drove from so far away, I wanted to get a good choice. I went with ribs, turkey, sausage, and brisket. While it was all good, the brisket was the standout. Very tender and really enjoyed the sausage also. Had green beans and coleslaw for my two sides and they were also good the beans were nice and hot. I really have no reason to be up in that area again, so it's very doubtful that I would make the drive again. It would be nice if they opened another location closer, I'm sure it would do well. If you live fairly close or do like I did and one day just say what the heck, let's make a trip of it. I would recommend. read more

You pick up your drink at the drink station. I ordered the 2 meat plate - chicken on the bone and ribs. Both awesome! Sides were yummy mac and cheese and brunswick stew. We stopped at Biguns on our way back to our hotel from visiting friends. Our plan was to grab some bbq to put on our nightly salad. I had been so disappointed while driving they North Carolina and staying in South Carolina that we really hadn't seen any bbq. Every place we saw was closed. So when we saw Biguns we had to stop. It smelled good from outside which was a good sign. We god the great big combo which is four meats and two sides we also bought two of their sauces to add to our collection of condiments (always a conversation piece) The meat all of it was amazing! Smoked to falling apart. The meat falling off the bone. I usually am not a fan of baked beans but these weren't overly sweet and had onions in them. I love fried okra.
