Gotta update! Was back here recently, stopped in with a few friends... Place has had a makeover but…read moreman, this place is just so confused! It's that bar that doesn't know what they want to be, old world charm, hipster/industrial, sports bar... Heck, I dunno! What's with the mannequin? Total identity crisis, shame cause location is perfect so has huge potential :-( *****Old Review****** Well hello there 10 St. Stephens Green! These guys only recently opened their doors mid-December and well, yes there are a few tell-tail signs but initially, I'm impressed. Going for the rounding up to 4 stars, honestly it's probably sitting at 3.5 stars. But please, do read on! The location is great, just off Grafton Street plus it has a really good feel to it. This could prove to be a great little venue for a glass of wine after some shopping, the lounge and it's seating would be perfect for the catch up with the girls or a quiet drink after a manic day. There is two very distinct areas, the lounge/bar which is decorated with French/Antique furniture while the smoking area is more modern with high tables and chairs. The smoking area has a roof, not sure how they are getting away with that but looks like they've made very good use of the regulations the roof is slight raised so there is fresh air / ventilation flowing with the mandatory irish 'chill' in the air. But for the smokers of the world, bet it proves popular! I sat in the lounge area and the chairs were comfy and quite appropriate given the type of building/room you are in. They are perfectly suited for small groups of 6-8 as well as some tables set with 2 seats. They have a menu of cocktails, some standard classics and some signature cocktails this place wants to get known for. I didn't get it but on my next visit I sure will... 10's Kettle is a magical theatrical display of dry ice, a brass kettle and a nice vodka concoction within, pricey at €20 but looks like it serves up 3-4 servings so actually, good value. The selection of wine is limited but for me, loved both wines I tried so won't ever be stuck for an order. Of course, you can opt for usual beers and spirits and am sure they would cater for a drink mixture once they've the ingredients. The atmosphere here was a little to be desired but I did visit on a Thursday evening and it's still trying to get it's name out and about... There was a flow of people coming in for the odd drink but I imagine on a good Friday or Saturday this place could have a super vibe to it so will be checking this place out again. It's also has a large screen/projector and from a few twitter exchanges they are happy to play the sport so for the little tom-boy in me, I'm happy although, it won't ever cut it as a sports bar and the other clientele might not be so happy hearing me roar for Liverpool :-)

This was our worst experience during our week long visit to Dublin. I hate to write a bad review,…read morebut it truly was awful. I will say that we chose to visit on a very busy day, during a sporting event which allows for some excuses, but not all. We attempted to go upstairs to the bar area, but it was full and we were very nicely directed downstairs to the dining room which had plenty of empty tables. The Mamma Mia part of this establishment is more of a dining area and is located downstairs, but they had a bar and the game on the tv. We found a great seat, and waited, and waited and waited. We eventually got 2 beers and then kept waiting and waiting. It was busy, but it there were staff around and it didn't seem to be overly busy. We weren't in a hurry, as we were planning to watch the game, so really it was not a problem, but it was probably close to an hour before anyone took our food order. I don't recall exactly what we ordered, but it ended up being tasty and seemed reasonably priced. The food and the atmosphere are the reason for 2 stars, the bartender also appeared to be doing a good job. Others were not happy to wait. We watched many people come in, sit down, wait awhile and eventually leave without being served. Others asked if they were meant to order their food and drinks from the bar at this sit down restaurant. What really warrants the negative review besides the bad service is the attitude of one of the waiters. We watched him scream at our table mates about whether or not they had ordered food. They were so upset by this encounter that they left after waiting forever to order drinks, sitting patiently like us to receive them, and then never getting them. It was probably another half an hour before anyone realized they had left. I have never seen a customer treated to badly, perhaps its cultural but this guy is not meant to serve people. There were lots of other things like this that made this experience unpleasant. I am truly surprised to not find tons of negative reviews.

This bar does a great job of creating unique and delicious drinks using Irish moonshine. Once we sat at the bar we were given welcome drinks which had a clarified liquor in it. My husband and I love clarified alcohol! It gives you the flavor of the alcohol but removes the sediments that give you a hangover. We don't find this too often since the process takes 24 hours. This was such a nice start to our experience. After our welcome drinks, I started off with the Belfast coffee, which is the most popular drink. We tried a handful of drinks. The menu has a dedicated page to each cocktail. If you need help, the bartenders are more than willing to help you. There are snacks if you need something with your drinks too.

We were lucky enough to get a table that was open but we only had 45 mins with it until the next reservation came in... they must have been late because the hostess let us stay for just over an hour. The Noms (drinks): we had 2-3 each and they were all so good. Way easier on the wallet than the drinks in NYC. Easily could have ended up paying $35 each but it was very reasonably priced. In conclusion: definitely a cute date night spot or a place to meet up with friends.. or a new friend. Try to make reservations if you can... if I had more time I would have liked to try some of the food menu items

We shared a Caesar salad to start - tasty, not overly dressed, with really good small croutons, not the big bland ones you often get in the US. Just enough anchovies to get a good umami going on without being overpowering. The fish and chips were really good, and a proper portion - so many places give you so much cod you can't get through it (plus it gets cold halfway through). My wife had the steak which she thoroughly enjoyed. We would have had dessert but, in the only service slip up of the night, it took about 15 minutes for our server to ask what we wanted after giving us the dessert menu. By then we decided against. A credible wine list and an Irish whisky variant of an Old Fashioned that was so good I broke my usual pattern and had two before switching to a glass of wine. Prices were quite reasonable for what you get, this is a place I will definitely put on my list for my next visit to Dublin.

It's a pretty small place and it feels very hidden so making a reservation is probably a good idea. How it works: walk downstairs (look for the neon sign that says "sshhh!") and GENTLY press the pig head on your left at the bottom to open the secret door. Our server was a gem and helped us navigate the extensive craft cocktail menu-I LOVED THE "breakfast of champions " and my wife enjoyed the noonin which was a bit of a riff on a margarita. We started with the creamy burratta with grilled pears and bread-heavenly and so fresh. For mains I got the pasta with beef and onions(yum!), but the standout was the braised short ribs with creamy mashed potatoes-amazing! -and at €30 a fantastic value. In fact everything was very reasonably priced and cocktails were only €15 each. Out entire bill was just €120-at least 50% less than a comparable meal at a quality restaurant in the US. What to do after that? Our answer was to hit a cocktail bar. We didn't have a reservation, but they told us if we were quick (like an hour or less), we could be seated. (They had a rez afterwards.) We only wanted a round, so that was fine by us. I was on a refreshing cocktail kick so I got the noinin. On the menu it was listed as "Dublin's Best Margarita 2018" so I had to try. It was what I was craving. Slightly tart, not too sweet, etc. Tho I prefer a lil more spirit forward. But it was a good drink to have after pours of whiskey earlier. Vibe is boisterous. Decor is a little cave like. Walking thru an italian resto was in the spirit it being a speakeasy. Glad we stopped by. REVIEW #4115
