The dog wasn't grizzly or giddy. He or she was pretty chill and didn't do any excessive sniffing like most dogs do. Then a guy assisted me, first, he tried his hardest to make a spare copy of my Toyota Rav4 vehicle key, but the car itself didn't give him any chances to program a spare. The car was on high alert and kept itself safe from any possible changes. The technician apologized to me and informed me that I might need to go to the dealership to get a copy. So, I asked if I could bring another vehicle key to get a spare. He agreed. I went home to drop off the Toyota to get the other vehicle. This key was easier to make since it is an older vehicle that isn't computerized like the newer ones. It took about 15 minutes to get the secondary vehicle key made. I paid ($68.00). However, once I got home to test the key, it only fit in the ignition, though it wouldn't unlock or lock the doors of the vehicle. I was disappointed and didn't understand why it didn't work. They are closed on Saturdays. I waited until Monday to go back to figure out what went wrong. Another technician was working, Mr. Joe. He was quick and assessed the situation. He didn't understand why the previous technician on Thursday didn't test the key on the doors. He assisted me and recut the key several times to get it to fit to lock and unlock the doors. He was the saving grace! He turned my frown upside down to a smile. I was a happy customer! He didn't charge me a dime for the second time. Note to self: check to make sure the key fits in all ports before you leave the premises. I would recommend it for any older vehicle key and other keys that aren't computerized/modernized.

I was happy about that because my front door was not secure and I was about to go out of town for an extended period of time. The lockset on my narrow stile door is not a garden variety lock and has many variations and nuances. The locksmith was puzzled from the get-go and when I offered some advice, he welcomed my input. I am technically capable and had worked on the lockset before. Regrettably, he did not follow my guidance on how to complete one of the tasks in the reassembly process and as a consequence, one tiny screw could not be installed. The holes were slightly misaligned. So he just left it out. The lock worked and was safe, but the cover plate would bind on the jam. To his credit, he told me about it and gave me the screw. After he left, I disassembled the lock to the point of being able to make the adjustments necessary so that the screw could be installed and then reassembled everything. The main plus was that he came out right away and brought the replacement lock components that I could not obtain locally and got my lock functional within hours. Had I been able to buy the part myself I would have done the work myself. I'm pleased with everything, even considering that I had to redo some of it. I think it is unreasonable to expect any particular locksmith to know the nuances of every possible lock, especially unusual / exotic ones, so I'm OK with it and will call Howard again if I find myself in a bind.

I called this company to ask if they could make a key fob for my vehicle. (The original key was lost & unfortunately I didn't have a spare. Lesson learned). They said they could & would have a locksmith call me. He called, showed up on time & surprisingly didn't have any questions for me, no identification, nothing. He made a new key, handed it to me AFTER I paid him $350 cash. He was there maybe 10 minutes, left quickly & when I looked down at the key fob more closely, it wasn't the same one I had. This one controlled the lock on the car doors, but not the trunk. I called him & he said they didn't have that key fob so that's what I get. I go to drive my car and the key light is on on my dash. I called him. No answer. 4 hours later, the key fob stopped working and left me stranded. It was the battery that needed to be replaced. On a brand new key fob? I replace the battery after walking to Walgreens, in the dark, all alone & noticed the inside of the key fob looked used! Looks like it came from the black market possibly. I took pictures, called the company for 6 days straight! Light still on on the dash & all I would hear is someone would call me back. Regardless of how many times I asked for a manager, they refused to allow if. Just "someone will call you back". So, I'm out $350. I have the wrong key fob that's been used before & a light on my dash with zero returned calls from this business. Never ever again will I use them. All I wanted was what I paid for. Use caution with this company.

I lost my keys out of town (dummy) and had been calling around 20+ locksmiths. Most places I called seemed to channel to a few call centers that would dispatch a technician. After getting the same call centers and the same technicians I was feeling like my choices were limited. Not to mention I could not get a set price from them. I would speak to one and get a price range with an up to $100 difference "depending on my system." It didn't sit right with me that they could determine the price once they got there, felt like bait and switch. I called a few more places some didn't do key fobs, but one did and referred Joseph. Speaking with Joseph immediately I felt knowledgeable and trustworthy coming through the phone. No fluctuating price to be determined once completing my vehicle. Not having to speak yo 2-3 people before speaking with the tech. A set price and speaking with the owner from the beginning, plus a year warranty on the key fob. Some things you just don't try to save a couple bucks...peace of mind and good service. With Safeco, Joseph, you can skip the headache and get what you need done right and fair.
