Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. Don't let the high star rating fool you--they are actively pressuring customers to delete bad experiences. Always get a second opinion!!!

They even went so far as to charge me service fees without my authorization for something they didn't even fix. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I first contacted Stephen in 2017 when my 15 year old heat pump stopped heating in zero degree weather. My auxiliary electric heat worked, but used a lot of energy, and would have more than doubled my energy bill if I couldn't get the heat pump working again. It hadn't been serviced for almost 8 years, so I was prepared for on expensive repair or replacement. At the time, my wife and I were still trying to decide whether to stay in this house, or buy a new home, so I wasn't ready to spend thousands of dollars to replace the heat pump. I called several other pros before I found Stephen, but they recommended replacing my heat pump before they had even looked at it, and weren't available for almost a week. Stephen came out quickly, inspected it, found several issues including two dangerous wiring problems from the original installation, and when he was done it worked very well. He reassured me that I could get several more years out of the unit. I signed up for his very reasonable annual maintenance plan and he came out again in late Spring to test the cooling. He got that working well too, and the heat pump was still running fine when we sold the house in November. When we moved into a newer home with two AC systems, Stephen inspected them for me, including the ducts, intakes, and registers. He noticed that the ducts feeding our bedroom and bath may not be sized correctly, and discussed possible solutions. He was right -- those rooms were often colder this winter than the rest of the house. When the weather warmed up, our AC cooled well for a week, then stopped cooling. I called Stephen the next morning and he was at my door half an our later, diagnosed the problem in a few minutes, and replaced a failed part. He may not always be able to respond this quickly, but I have complete confidence in Stephen and Rardon Home Performance to keep my AC running efficiently and fix it promptly when it fails, at a reasonable cost. HVAC systems do not last forever and require maintenance to keep them running. The purchase of the system is just an initial investment. We do try and help by offering our priority service agreement to help with discounts on parts and repairs. We also offer extended warranties on everything we install to help with repairs when they are needed. We offer parts and labor warranties on all repairs that we do. Home ownership is costly and we understand the need for reliable equipment, however it is mechanical and it will break down. Three weeks without AC in 100° heat -- then they canceled the job. We'd used Biggs before and even joined their maintenance plan because service was good. In July 2025, during a 95-105°F heat wave, our AC failed. Their tech diagnosed a leaking coil, ordered the part, and said it would take "weeks, not months." We have a 5-month-old and 2 dogs. While waiting 3 weeks, we spent ~$4,000 on window units and temporary lodging because indoor temps stayed 83-88°F. When the part arrived, Biggs discovered the original diagnosis was wrong. Management admitted the mistake but refused to cover any of our costs. They offered to waive part/labor (~$1,900) -- then abruptly canceled the repair and said they didn't want us as customers. Another company fixed the actual problem quickly -- it wasn't even the coil Biggs claimed. Summary: Wrong diagnosis, long delay in extreme heat, refusal to complete service. I cannot recommend based on this experience. read more

We bought the house this winter and discovered that it was not cooling properly. Brandon came out and we were so impressed with his patience and professionalism. A follow-up by Jason provided a choice of new models for a heat pump and allowed me to select a larger unit at less money than I had anticipated. The installation process under Louis was handled in one day by a crew of four that worked efficiently, gave me updates on the status of their work, and performed a thorough clean-up. I have been a customer of the HVAC business for about 7 years with an annual contract which covers one visit per year, although I always have them twice a year. The employees are very courteous on site and have always done the job right the first time. This time I decided, since I trust the Company, to also hire them for plumbing. I let them pick the faucet hardware and they came and installed it in two bathrooms and my kitchen. All the leaky junk is gone and the new fixtures look and work great. HVAC replacement:…read more- Had a brand new Trane system installed - Didn't cool properly following installation - Took multiple visits and 2 weeks to get AC working properly (root cause: incorrect wiring at installation) Requested quote to improve even cooling: - Technicians/installers rigged system without permission (turning blower up to top speed and partially closing every damper) - would have caused premature wear and failure of unit - One technician/installer was unprofessional and rude prior to storming out of house - Sent concerns about visit to owner and office manager and never received a response - Received a quote to replace entire ductwork - instead of addressing specific areas of concern as requested During multiple interactions, they were quick to speculate and point fingers at existing construction - the majority of which were invalid or irrelevant concerns. Would not recommend - especially after the unprofessional reaction from one of their technician/installers. I was calm and polite during every interaction despite the frustration and worry that they caused (brand new unit not cooling effectively for 2 weeks during the summer). The technician/installer in question became angry after I asked basic questions about his "recommendations" which weren't logical.

Clark spent a lot of time going above and beyond, including taking off the original install seam glue for the upstairs unit (which never was) and accessing hard-to-access screws, indicating they never even cleaned the coil post-install once despite paying for it! No wonder they were always in and out in 15 minutes. But he took the time to do it right. Two things you need when hiring tradespeople- expert knowledge and honesty. This company has both, and I am a lifelong customer now.

The semi-annual maintenance services have revealed no issues so far, so I have not needed repairs. However, I did sign up for the $19.99 monthly plan since my HVAC unit is older; it is a very reasonable cost that covers semi-annual maintenance visits while providing coverage for future issues that may arise. Logan and Alex have provided very professional, friendly maintenance service. Mary always follows up with timely maintenance reminders, and to obtain feed-back after technician visits. And when I called last Sunday with a question about humidifiers, expecting to leave a message for a call back, I was amazed that the owner picked up! A very responsive professional team!

She asked how the service appt went. I thanked her for the follow up and complimented their service technicians. I scheduled an appointment for the repair a few days later. Talk about thorough! Alex, came out replaced the part, and now, I' m all set. I've been a client for approx 8-9 yrs. The company really cares about their clients. I tried to hold on to my old unit as long as I could. I felt confident Comfort Pro would do a great job with my new unit installation in 2020. I only have positive comments for the owner, who was the first to come out years ago, to most recent, Logan and Alex. Also, thank you Mary for the follow up calls to schedule timely maintenance!
