The drinks are never what I ask for. They never seem to accept my coupons, and the customer service is horrible.

I really wanted to LOVE this place. It is a locally owned breakfast spot owned by a Costa Rican…read morefamily which had me from the start. I was excited to try their breakfast dishes because I was looking forward to some Costa Rican style dishes and was excited to see what their flavors were all about especially in this small little town. I ordered the tico sunrise bowl with an extra egg and avocado. When I got the bowl it looked very appealing. When I cut into the egg unfortunately it was a little overcooked so the yolk wasn't as runny as I would have liked. The dish overall was pretty bland and packed some flavor. Even with the chipotle cream which I was excited about the flavor just wasn't there. It tasted a little more like sour cream than chipotle to me. I did add some salt and Pepper to the dish which helped a bit. We ordered some of there homemade salsas hoping it would help but those too tasted very bland and packed any salt or seasonings. Maybe I was just hoping for some food with flavor but that's not their style of cooking? I did order their cafe Miel latte which was very delicious. I very much enjoyed sitting in the cute little cafe and drinking my coffee. I still give it at least 4 stars because it did have a nice little vibe inside and the staff was friendly and service was quick.

Consistently my favorite restaurant to visit when we are in Hillsdale. Run by a charming young…read moreItalian family, they have mastered the art of great food, wonderful service & created an atmosphere that is perfect for business meetings, family gatherings or even a romantic meal. I love the way they have restored this old building near the downtown square. Lots of authentic period touches and the food is superb. The pizzas are fabulous! Depending upon when you visit will dictate what kind of pizza is available. For lunch service it is the rectangular style deep dish reminiscent of the type workers would grab to eat while walking or standing. The dough is pillowy soft and ingredients are fresh and many are sourced locally. The evening pizzas are the traditional round style. Delicious with a phenomenal mix of flavors. Get adventurous and try one of their specialty pizzas. You won't be disappointed! We also tried the meatballs and salad. Both were flavorful and satisfying. If you are there for dinner, leave room for dessert or be prepared to get a piece of the flourless chocolate torte to go. The owner makes himself. It is awesome! You can also enjoy a cannoli, gelato or some of their fresh baked goods (bread, croissants and danishes).

My husband and I had the pepperoni and sausage pizza and they tasted amazing, but I'm definitely that person that loves pineapple on my pizza and would love to try it again with pineapple on it. I understand this is more upscale and authentic Italian than we're used to around here, but some people just can't understand it and I know I've heard complaints regarding their lack of options. I haven't been here in the evening yet, but apparently it's way different than lunch time. They change their salads daily and they're definitely mediocre at best compared to their pizza. When I went they told me the salad was a kale Caesar salad and when I got it, there was nothing Caesar or kale about it lol. They sell very few drinks at lunch. A few beers, coffee, coke, maybe 1 or 2 other pops and an Italian made pop. I tried it and it was really good and made with all natural ingredients you'd expect to see in a blood orange pop. It seems like you can get takeout maybe if you come inside and order. Maybe not? I saw someone get handed a pizza box that was up by the counter, but I couldn't find a phone number on their website to call in an order, but that was back when they first opened so maybe it's changed. Definitely tasty and definitely worth trying! Just don't expect the typical pizza joint atmosphere and menus. Side observations. They didn't have anywhere to hang a purse inside their bathrooms when I was there. Maybe they've added some hooks since then. If you are in a wheelchair, you might have difficulty moving around inside the bathroom, but folks with babies, they have changing tables! The restaurant was overall clean, but the stairs down to the kitchen were super dirty and definitely needed attention. Our favorite thing about this experience was how we didn't feel absolutely awful after eating. They make their pizza dough out of flour, salt, and water. No unnecessary ingredients and it's fresh! We will definitely come back to try their evening menu and baked good! I recommend everyone in the area to try it out just for a new experience!

Galley-like set up as you walk in. Breakfast diner vibes more than 'cafe and bakery'. Kitchen to your left as you walk down short corridor into cafe. Sloth-like chill attitude encouraged; the hashtag is #letshangtogether. Had fun looking at all the little sloth decor throughout. Lots of light and glass. VERY limited seating; seats about 15 (?) inside; mostly 2 tops and a 6 top. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly, permitted to sit where ever we would like, then handed menus. Turkish music playing was just a bit too loud. Hospitality. Friendly and helpful. Owner-chef seemed very happy to be there, singing and engaging with his regulars. Offerings. Basic breakfast and lunch items with Turkish and Mediterranean classics. No flavored lattes but other basic espresso drinks offered. Chai was excellent. Had the Turkish coffee because it was a Turkish joint; was REALLY good; strong. We had the Simit Platter; sesame-like NY bagel, feta chunks, and olives. All very good. See pics. Apparently they offer cooking classes, catering, and meal prep pick-up -- for ever-changing healthier, fresh, easy-prep take-out options. Of Note and Last Impressions. Lot parking. Overall, fun.

It was tasty and even better with the bread they provided. It could've been packaged in a better way because the oil dripped out everywhere by the time we got it home. Maybe a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. The mezze platter was also quite nice, especially the carrot appetizer. The bulgur patties were also flavorful. The artichoke was slightly disappointing because it didn't have any other flavor than salt and vinegar, similar to canned/bottled artichokes. The salad was fresh and the dressing was light. Overall, this was a light and tasty lunch.
