Service was very slow, no one was in line. Took 15 minutes. Just for a regular iced black coffee.

Horrendous wait times. 25+ minute wait for a simple iced coffee. This has happened multiple times.

Flying Saucer is the call for coffee in South Haven. When searching for a shop in a new town I…read morealways look for one with a nice pour over menu, as it typically signals the fact they care about the coffee they serve and often are serving or connected to a local roaster, which is exactly the case here. Midday and wifey needed a pick me up, so after a quick Yelp search I discovered The Flying Saucer and set our course. Located right in the heart of downtown South Haven, this shop is a bit unassuming from the outside, but cozy and charming inside. We were fortunate to find a parking spot right in front, so she hopped out and went in to order her drink. We needed coffee for the house, but I wasn't sure we'd find it here, so when she came back out with a bag of ground beans, I had to head in to see what was going on myself. Now I stopped here because I saw the pour over menu and as it turns out, Flying Saucer serves Uncommon Coffee from Saugatuck, and as a result, they offer a wide range of their beans for sale in smaller packages, which were perfect for the needs at home! Flying Saucer was a win on so many levels. Stop here if you're in South Haven.

It's just a fun little shop with UFO and sci-fi decor. There's a signed picture of Mr Sulu, aka "Uncle" George Takei! Sitting next to the kitchen, the noise of pots and pans slamming was so loud I jumped a couple times. I wouldn't be able to work on my laptop here. But it's a nice air conditioned space with tons of seating and a large unisex bathroom.

I ordered a breakfast taco, and my sister ordered the ham and cheese omelette, both of which were delicious and pretty dang good bang for your buck. That said, I'll leave a decent review for Clifford's, but there were some disappointments. Upon entering, we were confronted by a professionally printed sign, along with a verbal warning from the sole attendant at the counter, stating that four out of five of their normal front counter employees hadn't shown up this morning. Translation: "Lower your expectations if you still choose to eat here". The fact that they have a pre-printed sign tells me this happens a lot (?!?!?). I also took note of multiple other signs on display, some handwritten, informing patrons that various menu items were out of stock. In some cases, these menu deletions took the form of a line on the menu being unceremoniously scribbled out with chalk or a marker. Surprisingly, the food and the service ended up being pretty good during our visit. However, I will give "Clifford" some unsolicited advice, if he's listening: Clifford, aside from the jacked-up parking situation, you have a cool thing going on here, and the location is spot-on awesome. But, I think you'd do better by paying more attention to the rough edges. Presentation matters, and it begins the moment your customer walks into the cafe. The vibe that the business was sending that day wasn't particularly inviting.
