We were super excited to stop in at WE Coffee while exploring South Haven because we heard they were a Christian coffee shop and we absolutely love supporting faith-based businesses like that! Water's Edge Coffee (also known as WE Coffee) is connected with LifeBridge Church, and they've been serving the South Haven community since 2014. Their heart and mission go beyond coffee - supporting both local and global outreach efforts I'll be honest, our visit wasn't quite what we expected the staff wasn't very friendly, which was a little disappointing given how much we were looking forward to it But aside from that, the decor was beautiful, filled with encouraging artwork and uplifting touches everywhere you look. The atmosphere itself was cozy and peaceful, the kind of space that makes you want to sit down, relax, and just breathe. Now onto the coffee...wow I ordered the Salted Raspberry Truffle Latte, and Melissa got the Caramel Apple Mocha both were phenomenal! Truly some of the best coffee we've had in Michigan so far. It's definitely sitting at the top of our Michigan coffee list right now... We stopped in one weekday morn for a good cup of coffee. What a well-appointed space. Clean and relatively quiet today, we found all the associates friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my dark roast brew (black). My companion tried a double espresso. He felt it was kind of "sour and bitter" in flavor. The free WiFi is a plus. It works marvelously. This little gem sparkles. I really thought it was so cozy. The day was a little cold, so Hubbs and me stopped in and enjoyed some lattes. The coffeehouse was spacious has a couple chairs, couches, tables and booths. The music was nice and melancholy. Not to loud and not to soft, glowing under cinversation. Barista was friendly and efficient. I ordered a pistachio vanilla latte This was really good. I do hope they will be open later on the weekends. I will be coming back! read more

The guy sitting at the first table reading his paper and enjoying his coffee choice noticed our hesitation (we are mocha snobs) and assured us, "Great coffee. You're in the right place." Lovely decor!! initially I was very excited about the place but after having a coffee making fiasco and learning that they had been in business 3 years I had to lower my rating. After 3 years they should have more milk options, better tea, and most importantly as a coffee house they should have more experience making capuchinos, and lattes. I ordered a macchiato and the barista confessed he had no experience making them. I then proceeded to ask him to make me a drink he was comfortable making. He made me a hazelnut latte that was flavorless, not hot enough and loaded with foam. I returned it for lack of flavor and he added 2 shots of espresso and more syrup. Obviously this made the flavor worse. The second order was a cold brew with chai latte and that too seemed to be an order out of this world. Both drinks went to the trash. The cashier couldn't handle the transaction, she seemed confused and charged the drinks separately on her own giving herself change, it was very unusual. Cashier also confessed that the goal of the place was not coffee but rather community. Therefore, if you are looking for a place to rest and if you enjoy reading Christian books this place is great. Stay away from the coffee unless is a plain cup of joe. I don't recommend this place for coffee but rather as a place to socialize, rest or read. I appreciate that they have spiritual books available and that the area is furnished with comfortable couches. The location is great and makes it a perfect spot to take a break from shopping. read more

What a great addition to town! I live in San Francisco and am always desperate for coffee shops when visiting my parents in South Haven and have been underwhelmed in the past. I found The Living Room on Yelp this year, and it turned out my mom had seen it but hadn't been in. We tried it out and came back the very next day! The staff was very sweet, friendly, and accommodating. Lots of people were in there working and I got a little work done myself on a comfy couch. We felt comfortable staying a while talking and hanging out while I got through some work emails. They have a variety of seating- soft seating, tables, and barstools. The place is casual and welcoming. They have all the basics- latte, espresso, chai lattes, etc along with iced tea. They also serve pastries but no other food. Free wifi for while you work there. I went here last year when visiting and it was the best cold brew in town so I had to come back again! It is really nice and relaxing in there and a really big open space. Their drink menu had some very creative coffee concoctions that I'm going to try next time I'm there.
