    Tap House Burger

We really loved this place! The burger was fantastic and the outdoor patio was an incredible place to enjoy your food

Local small spot off the highway with plenty of tabs & standard pub fare. Inside was boisterous. We got the cider on tap, onion rings ($15.99), caprese panini ($19.99), and half dozen buffalo wings (forgot how much these were). Everything was tasty and the portions were great. Omg - the amount of fruit flies harassing our meal was laughable :') Staff are friendly, and inside is rustic - there are a few screens for watching sports.

Stopped in at this small tap house to escape the rain while road tripping down the pacific coast highway. It's quite small and intimate but everyone inside was friendly. The beer was good and cold. We ordered sliders as well and these took way too long to come out. We finally got up to investigate what was taking so long and found them sitting on a counter. By the time we found them, they were already cold. The flavor was good but I'm sure they would've been much better served warm.

Best restaurant I went to in Big Sur (and I went to Sierra Mar too lol). Dive bar vibes, but it was fantastic. Staff were friendly, service was great/fast, but the food was the standout 10/10! Hot wings: I'm a wing snob (been going to Wings n Things for 30 years IYKYK), and these were some of the best I've ever had. 10/10 Big Booty Burger: Wife said it was one of the best burgers she's ever had! 10/10

WiFi service is non-existent out on Hwy 1, so looking up spots saved is nearly impossible unless you do it old school and write things down, which I did not do in advance of our trip. We hiked a killer hike in Julia Pfeiffer state park and meandered our way back to our resting spot. On our ramblings we landed here for a bite and drink. It wasn't until after the fact I realized I had saved this spot when trip planning and boy did it deliver!! Service was friendly and warm. They have WiFi which is a luxury around the area, lol. The food was FANTASTIC! So many gluten free options I didn't know what to do with myself! Burgers, panini, tacos, nachos! They don't do gluten free pizza but whatever, everything was so plentiful in options it's not like you'll starve here if gluten free. They do make house-made queso, which is always a solid option if done well, in my humble opinion. We landed on the nachos with carne asada and some drinks. It was delicious! The nachos have pickled jalapeños and red onions to add pop to the nachos which are fresh made chips, the queso, truly a delicious bite! And the place is overall such a vibe! We absolutely loved it. It was the perfect spot to wind down and relax after 2000' of climbing up the highway. The back patio has plentiful seating including sun loving spots as well as shady options. Fun decor, fire lamps for when it's cold. I can see live music here being awesome! It's connected to a deli, merch options for purchase, truly a local gem. We loved every second of this spot and wish it was closer to make it happen on the regular. We'd highly recommend if around the area! Delicious food, great service, plenty of room to relax and enjoy, great line up for drinks, and friendly service all at reasonable prices. Chefs kiss!

What a great place. Ambience and character. Food was solid. And the string band jamming in the corner was Devine.

    Such a cool spot

Holy shit this place was good and the beer was cold and tasted so fresh. We had the Mai Tai from Alvarado (can never go wrong with Alvarado) and I had the BLAST with sub French fries and my hubby had the Grande Nachos, BOMB. Honestly it was so good and was not greasy and the portions are huge!

Food is always amazing here at Taphouse, everytime we go to bigsur Taphouse is our choice. They got tacos, pizza on Thursdays. They have a nice patio if you dont want the crowd and tv on site. Servers are always attentive to get your orders. You're on the mountains so if you dont want wilderness this area is not for you. I've been here so many times and this is my to go place. They have a mini grocery stuff and souvenirs.

Five stars for atmosphere and food! Granted, you've got gotta be comfortable with a little grunge. I likened it to Boy Scout camping. . Food- all the thumbs up. Sandwiches are very shareable, meaning they're huge. I love their daily specials- never had a miss with a special. We always enjoy the cheesesteak, fish & chips, & Reuben. I was really digging the buffalo chicken sliders that were a special. Shrimp Po Boy was fun as well. Fries and onion rings are always tasty and plentiful. The drive there from up north is worth the trip!

Limited food options in Big Sur and this was one of the few places open when we visited in December. The menu was small and basic. We ordered the chicken tenders and a sandwich. Food was ok for the location and price. The patio outside was peaceful and dog-friendly

Po Boy (Plastic knife for size reference) Huge and tasty!

Excellent food! Awesome patio! Friendly service! Great vibes! Definitely recommend Big Sur Taphouse to anyone visiting or passing though Big Sur. The Po Boy was delicious!

What a cool space! Honestly the upstairs outdoor patio has to be one of the coolest places for an unexpected quick stop into a taphouse for lunch and a drink after beach day.

Carne Asada Tacos and Reuben pastrami sandwich. Patio área is really nice.

Nice spot right alongside Hwy 1. True pub feel. Great beer selection and food was delicious. Friendly staff. Right next to a little market. Great stop for road trippers that want to restock on supplies.

I was so thrilled to check this pub out especially with our doggie, Meatball the Bulldog! How perfect right? A Bulldog at The Bulldog Sports Pub. We snagged the last available booth, and it had crumbs on there. Not clean. SMH. I went to the bar to order some drinks for my boyfriend and me since he left his wallet in the car. It was raining that night, and we parked several blocks away. The service was okay. I remember the guy bartender said $29something, but then he charged me $30something. I got the Jalapeno Margarita while my boyfriend had the Tito's Mule. My drink was very sweet with a kick of jalapeno while his was pretty good. They had music playing. It seems that there is a modern jukebox where you can pay to pick a song. There was one pool table for people to play. So many people came up to pet Meatball and give him so much attention. He absolutely loved it! There was one guy who asked if he can say "Hi" to Meatball, and we said that it was okay like we normally do. This weirdo was basically making out with Meatball; not cool at all man. Then Meatball flipped on his back, and he was holding Meatball. My boyfriend told him to let go of Meatball. It was such an uncomfortable interaction. Not normal at all. He even said, "This is my NYE kiss!" SMDH. The guy sat down at a table that is across from us, and he kept looking at us. We quickly finished our drinks, and then we left to ring in the new year at our hotel lobby instead. We should have just hung out in our hotel lobby instead of going out; it was much better there.

Dear Yelp, This cow…read morecame wanderin' in expectin' the full Old West meets California charm experience -- the kind of place that makes you feel like Clint Eastwood himself might stroll through the swinging doors, tip his hat, and ask how your steak was. Instead, this ol' steer left feelin' like he got branded and sent straight to disappointment pasture. Now first off, credit where credit is due: the hostess was absolutely wonderful. She genuinely seemed to care that we had a good experience and treated us kindly from the start. No beef with her whatsoever. She was one of the few bright spots in the whole evening. But the rest of the experience? Whew. This place just ain't what it used to be. We made reservations weeks in advance and submitted special requests online -- the kind the restaurant literally invites you to make. When we arrived, nobody acknowledged any of it. No mention, no effort, no attempt to make the evening feel special. It was like our requests got tossed into the cattle trough out back. And for spending a couple hundred dollars for two people, this cow expected a meal worth mooing about. Instead, the food was just average at best. Nothing terrible... but certainly not "drive the herd across town" good. Honestly, it feels like the spirit of the place left the ranch years ago. Back when Clint Eastwood was involved, you get the feeling he would've made sure every guest felt taken care of and the experience lived up to the legend. Now it just feels like they're coasting on the name and the nostalgia. Final thoughts from one disappointed bovine: Atmosphere: Cowboy charm hanging on by a horseshoe nail. Service: Hostess was great. The rest felt asleep at the stable. Food: More "meh" than "medium rare masterpiece." Would I come back? This cow's gonna keep moseyin'.

There was also live music happening in the back room on this holiday evening, which was cool to check out. The art and decor in the restaurant was quirky and added character to the place. What's more, the staff was friendly and helpful and provided outstanding service throughout the evening. We got the cockney chicken pie, blackened rock cod, cup of clam chowder, and to drink, a lemon drop cocktail and big sur golden (draught beer). The only thing salty was the lemon drop, as they put salt on the rim instead of sugar. But it was still tasty and made well otherwise. The food was delicious, full of flavor without all the sodium.
