I'll start with the positives:…read more- breakfast was the best part of our stay and was an incredible buffet with different options on both of our days. - the staff is friendly and helpful. - it was cool having a wood fireplace and being provided wood/fire starter. - the WiFi works well although I wish it had a password. - our king mattress was comfortable and the pillows were better than average. - the room was clean. - the windows open and are screened. - the local dog is friendly and cute. Negatives: - the roads are pretty bad, especially for my low car. To get to our cabin I had to navigate muddy potholes. - our AC in the cabin was pretty bad. It was difficult to understand and was inconsistent. The bathroom was pretty much always freezing. - there is no TV in the room (this may be a positive for some). - the products used in the bathroom (lotion, shampoo, etc.) are from Dial. This is likely the cheapest option and not something we would use. - the cabins are similar to a duplex. I thought it was a standalone unit we booked, but thankfully it was not crowded and we did not have a neighbor. - the door is a standard keyed lock. I wish it was a key pad so there isn't a risk of losing a key or needing to keep up with one. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives and we would stay here again.

They have activities that you can book ahead of time. My sister, husband and I booked the 2-hour horseback riding ($120) and it was definitely worth it. We had so much fun and would highly recommend this to anyone that visits. Your stay includes breakfast at McGill's and it was pretty decent and they change up the items daily. Waffles, eggs, sausage, pastries, fruit, biscuits & gravy, yogurt & granola, coffee, tea, juice. McGill's is also available for dinner and it's so convenient. I recommend making reservations. The ranch is roughly 45 minutes to Bozeman airport and also 45 minutes to the west entrance into Yellowstone National Park. The wedding was gorgeous, and the ranch sets the perfect atmosphere of a classic Western vibe. The whole family had a great time. It's a beautiful ranch and a gem along the Gallatin river, 10/10.

Rainbow Ranch Lodge…read more Cutest, coziest, cabin experience, perfect for a ski trip!! The room layout was perfect for 2 people (would also be nice for couples or small families). Housekeeping came daily to refresh the room with clean towels and replaced water bottles in the mini fridge. The room also had a coffee maker, microwave, fans, space heaters, and comfy robes. The complimentary breakfast buffet was the perfect start to our long ski days. Each day they had fresh breakfast options including French toast, eggs, meats, and yogurt. The staff was extremely attentive to guests needs, going above and beyond for any requests. Jared brought us a bag of ice to make our own iced coffees to take on the road. I believe it was Abbie who checked us in and offered clear instructions and guidance. The hot tub offered beautiful views, a large fireplace, and was open until 10pm each night. Location was slightly "out of town" but only 20 min to Big Sky Resort parking lot at the base of the mountain. Would highly recommend & can't wait to book a future stay!!

I politely asked our server how that beer was coming and he replied that he'd check. Several more minutes past and he returned with an apology and promise that it was coming soon. Mind you, the beer I ordered was in a can. More time passed and I asked the server if I need to go to the bar myself and talk to the bartender and he insisted that it wasn't necessary. I waited a few moments and witnessed lots of discussion but not beer being procured. I then walked up to the bar and relayed the situation to the bartender who then handed me a beer different than the one I had just requested directly to his face. Tossed it to me and then asked if I wanted it in a glass. Over the rest of the meal, I was given 3 weird, long, unaccountable apologies. The cost of the beer was left on the bill. Me and a group of 3 stayed in Big Sky in the Moonlight community. The staff said our reservation was canceled, which was never communicated to us, and we had no transportation to get anywhere else in the -10° weather. The manager kept repeating herself about saying it was members only (although that wasn't said on Resi), and tried to say there was a shuttle running into town, but there isn't after 5:35. There were 3-5 tables taken and plenty of tables open to seat anyone, and they wouldn't accommodate us with carry out or any food, and asked us to leave after saying that without being empathetic to any degree. How can you stay at a community and not be able to eat at the lodge? Also, they didn't allow credit cards? How is that acceptable in today's age?

We love the Saddle Ridge area for a few reasons: ski in ski out steps to the Moonlight Lodge pool workout facilities dining full bar spa quiet safe We actually ski Big Sky instead of Moonlight, but love being up at Moonlight because of the staff and amenities. If you are looking for an active nightlife, you are probably better served staying in Big Sky village. If you are looking for great skiing, buy an all mountain pass and explore. The Headwaters area is great.
