Driving to Moonlight Basin/Big Sky through the canyon was so beautiful!
    Jan B.

The quality of the food and service at Moonlight Basin match the beauty of the surroundings and the kindness of the wait staff. My sister and I enjoyed the restaurant and its delicious French Onion soup for lunch. Then, at 1: after the restaurant stopped serving in the bar, we moved to a booth area there and had a great time playing Dominoes and enjoying their excellent wine choices while my husband had a ball on the ski slopes. Moonlight Basin Lodge also has a great spa area. On visits past, that was my diversion of choice while the skiers skied. There's something for everybody!

Lunch was great but fairly expensive. Bloody Mary was the highlight. Potato Leek soup was very nice. Burger was tasty too!

There's also quite a bit more park features here than Big Sky, mostly in the medium/large level, although there is a small park by the Moonlight Lodge.

Holy hell. First time in Big Sky and I am absolutely in love…read more The resort is MASSIVE...like, "I‑did‑three‑full‑days‑of‑boarding‑and-still-didn't‑hit‑every‑lift" massive. Every time we thought we were getting our bearings, we'd discover another whole zone tucked behind a ridge. Big Sky really does live up to its name. We kicked things off on what was supposed to be a "warm‑up run," but joke's on us, it was long, challenging, and honestly kind of brutal... in the best possible way. These runs are no joke and some of the longest I've ever ridden. But once the legs woke up, the rest of the day just flowed. Endless terrain, great snow, and barely any crowds. Absolute bliss. Had to pop into The Montage on the far left side of the mountain, and wow, the cocktails are phenomenal. Pricey? Yes. But you're on a mountain this bougie... what did we expect? Totally worth it. And let's talk about that gondola to tram combo up toward Lone Mountain. INSANE. The views are surreal, the exposure is wild, and the access is next‑level. Will I ever attempt the Big Couloir? Absolutely not. Do I love knowing it's there for people braver (and crazier) than me? Absolutely yes. Between the bowls, tree runs, off‑piste pockets, and wide‑open cruisers, there's truly something for everyone and somehow it never feels crowded. Big Sky has officially earned a top spot on my favorite‑resorts list. No question, I will 100% be back.

I'm leaving this review because our experience at this upscale all inclusive resort was wildly inconsistent. The property is beautiful and the staff is kind, but the level of miscommunication and operational confusion was unlike anything I've experienced at this price point. A few of the major issues: * Serious health risk: The boxed lunches on our first days were unsafe for my diabetic brother and put him at risk of diabetic shock. These were the only meals available due to our scheduled activities. * Two different planners, both incorrect: * A "featured" restaurant they offered was actually closed. * We were booked for an activity that doesn't start for another two weeks. * The sky lift was presented as available but wasn't open. * Hot air balloon miscommunication: * The time we were given was wrong. * The balloon company had no record of our reservation. * We would have missed it entirely if I hadn't reconfirmed repeatedly. * Itinerary changes without notice: * Our schedule was altered multiple times without anyone informing us. * Another guest in the lobby was having the exact same issues. There were many more problems beyond these. They did tell us an employee had sabotaged their system, but it would be impossible for that one person to have caused everything we experienced. Bottom line: We had a good time, and the place itself is beautiful. But when you compare the price to the actual experience, I could not justify the stay.

My friends and I were staying at one of the Spanish Peaks cabins which provided full access to the Club. We were able to get delicious breakfast every morning before hitting the slopes, and were also excited to go back at the end of the day and grab some much needed drinks. Staff will help you remove your boots and will even heat your ski boots overnight! The locker rooms are also really nicely furnished. We learned while we were there that everything is only a few months old right now so we were really there in the ultimate peak condition. One of the other really cool things is that the Spanish Peaks resort is open only to guests. It has trails that connect you right into Big Sky so you can ski both resorts, but if you're staying at Spanish Peaks, the slopes there are included with your stay. Trails were wide open, freshly groomed, and it felt like we had our own private place to ski/snowboard. On Friday night there was a live band playing the bar area which was really nice. Also, I need to mention that our bartender Patrick (Murph!) was just phenomenal. He was friendly and attentive and clearly a great guy. He knows a lot about the area and gave us some good food suggestions. He also makes a mean Montana Mule. The Club was pure luxury and I would highly recommend visiting.

YC is adjacent to the Big Sky Resort in Montana, about 8- 10 minutes drive, depending on where you are staying. The Yellowstone Club private ski and golf community has a main lodge which is the heart of the Club. Love that this community has its own shops, restaurants & bars, lounge areas, spa, fitness center which has a big load of complimentary goodies, swimming pool , business center, concierge services, fire department and more. One of the major perks for members is the activities for children. Too many activities to name! Here's a few to keep busy: movie theatre, rock climbing wall, basketball court, arts, and crafts, and an arcade all at the the youth center. Staff will also provide supervised activities and day care. We love the Michelin quality dishes that comes out from the YC. The Clubhouse offers delectable meals and our go to spot from breakfast to dinners and great afternoon drinks with expansive Mountain View's. The fire pits makes fir a cozy ambiance and the outdoor pizza oven is pretty cool. The barn also is an extraordinary place for events! Love love love everything here at the YC!

For a property…read morethat caters to billionaires, it often felt like corners were cut at the expense of staff and facility standards. Equipment and amenities were frequently broken or poorly maintained--from a leaking roof and towel shortages to a malfunctioning pool and delayed rink openings. Promises made to employees--like ski days or full-club tours--were not upheld, and communication from leadership often shifted to fit the narrative. Despite working hard and receiving praise, I experienced a lack of transparency, fairness, and consistency--especially around service charges, insurance eligibility, and end-of-season scheduling. I do not recommend working for the Health and Wellness team under Serene's management. Her leadership style fostered confusion, stress, and unnecessary conflict. I hope YC leadership takes staff feedback seriously and prioritizes a more respectful, supportive work environment going forward.

We stayed in one of Moonlight Lodging's units in Big Sky in August 2021. The unit and location were…read moregreat -- quality construction, plenty of room, great views, fair pricing. The only problem was the customer service, which was almost non-existent. We had several immediate issues with the unit -- a blender didn't work, the light in the master shower didn't work (and it was in a dark corner of the bathroom, so it was pretty dark in the shower), the steam unit in the master shower didn't work at all, a bank of lights and wall plugs didn't work, and both ice-makers in the unit (separate and refrigerator) didn't work. We arrived on Monday at 4 p.m. and called to ask for assistance at about 5:30 p.m. Monday; however, after 5 p.m., the assistance line just records calls for the following day and promises a quick call-back. Fair enough -- none of these issues were emergencies. By 3 p.m. the following day (Tuesday), someone had dropped off a new blender but no one had called or stopped by to take care of the other issues. We called at 3 p.m., and again had to leave a message. We received a call back shortly thereafter and profuse apologies for not getting around to calling back. We explained the problems, again, and the guy said he would see about getting someone out, but that it was late in the day so he couldn't promise anything. We asked, to clarify, are you saying someone will stop by today or not (this was Tuesay)? The guy said, after some pause, that "yes, someone will definitely stop by today," Tuesday came and went -- no call and no visit. Wednesday came, and still no call and no visit. Wednesday afternoon, we called again and left another message. The same guy called back fairly quickly and apologized for the fact no one had stopped by, but was unwilling to commit to anyone stopping by Wednesday. We pressed the point a bit, saying that we weren't getting all that we were paying for, and it was just plain rude that they at least didn't have the courtesy to call back and let us know what was going on. At that point, probably more out of being guilted than anything else, the guy promised someone would stop by that day (Wednesday). We left for the afternoon, and someone did indeed stop by and checked out the list of issues we had left, in writing, inside the front door. Here's the exact written response from whoever stopped by: "Please contact residential services. Will have to call out for ice makers. Believe breaker is behind locked door for outlets." So in short, they repair guy fixed nothing (not even replacing the lightbulb in the shower) and essentially referred us back to the repair number, where the same guy kept apologizing but not getting anything done. So now it's Wednesday evening, and we're leaving Friday morning -- there wasn't much more to do since it was clear the management company wasn't going to take any action. More than anything, the whole thing was just disappointing -- they product was great, but the customer service was almost non-existent and misleading in terms of what they were willing to do. Just something to keep in mind if you book from these guys -- they're happy to take your money upfront, giving you no leverage later when they blow you off with any issues that may come up. Like I said at the beginning, their unit was great -- the customer service was just pathetic.
