You know that four-letter word? L-o-v-e? Sometimes we say it too soon or sometimes we say it without thought. Not this time! I LOVE BIG ROCK PUB! My boyfriend and I were having an epic Palm Springs weekend. We needed a place to watch the Cowboys game, and my ex husband's wife (yes, you read that right) recommended this place to us. They reside in La Quinta and it's one of their go-to sports bars. When you pull onto the street, you get a glimpse of how big this place is and how cool it's likely to be. Once we parked, we noticed one of the flags had a red/blue stripe, honoring law enforcement and firefighters. My guy is a retired police chief, so it was a kind gesture for sure. They even sport a Canadian one next to the US flag. Upon entering, there are statues of entertainers/singers, like Elvis Presley. In front of the doorway, you look down through clear glass to see an actual piano underground! Everything is decorated in a guitar theme. The place is impressive! Inside is an assortment of music memorabilia. Posters, guitars, plaques, photos, murals, and more, catch your eye at every turn. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and tv screens, provide comfortable dining and drinking spots, with entertainment directly ahead of you. They also have live bands on select nights and real gorgeous wood furniture in the back lounge. The back patio overlooks the golf course and is also dog friendly. We even had a cigar off to the side. While we didn't order food, the service was excellent for our drinks. Our server Lindsey was top notch. Always coming by to check on us, offer another very cold beer, and such. Super personable. I'd ask to have her wait on us again, in a heartbeat. The bathrooms are so darn cool! I actually kept looking forward to going pee! Please, please, visit this place. I don't care if you're staying in Palm Springs and need to make the 30 minute drive. Just thank me later. read more

Had a bad experience here & it's so unfortunate because this restaurant is sooo nice, has an amazing patio w/ a great view, it's just so cool even the restrooms are beautiful !! But the service we got was TERRIBLE we came for my dad's bday so we had about 8 ppl all together, we stayed for a long time, & by the time we left everybody was just really irritated because it was like nobody wanted to help us. We had to raise our hands & yell excuse me across the room or we would have been sitting there forever w/o ordering !! The food was okay but the service really killed the vibe. read more

1 word to describe this place: Distracted. The servers were distracted. Friendly and all, but they seemed more interested in talking to each other than the guests. We ordered 2 of the grilled cheese rib sandwiches. I can't eat swiss so I asked for cheddar. It came out with swiss and the server had the confidence to stare us down and say it WAS cheddar. Luckily my bf tried it and proved it was swiss before I ate anything. The drinks were tasty and reasonably priced for the amount of alcohol in them. I wanted to add that I am a single, more mature lady, that goes everywhere solo. I was served by a very special Server, Whitney. She took great care of me in every way. Making sure my order was correct, a delicious Hamburger cooked perfect with no onions, lettuce etc. She checked on me often and kindly took my photo when I asked her and as I often do when I travel, allowed me to take her photo as well. Been to BRP several times for happy hour and group meetings. Today was the first time we ate as a family. Saturday at 12:30 pm during prime season and we were sat right away. I had the club sandwich and it was good. My wife had the burger, I liked it but she thought it was just okay. Now to the bad part...the kids meals are a ripoff! My daughters chicken strips were okay at best. The other two girls ordered Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese came with a drink, but no fries. Here's the worst part, it was kraft Mac and cheese. We paid $8 for kraft Mac and cheese! That's got to be the biggest ripoff in a restaurant ever! For $9.99 you can buy 12 boxes of kraft Mac and cheese and Big Rock Pub is charging $8.00 for one serving??? What's up with that? I think they over price kid meals to keep kids out of the restaurant. Fun place!! Beautiful interior decor and a beautiful breathtaking patio view. We attended country night on a Sunday which was absolutely a kick and they had line dancing lessons. The only thing preventing a 5 star was a manager (Marci) who I think was just having a stressful night. Obviously short handed for a holiday weekend and was a little rude. Though the hostess said it would be a 5-10 min wait for a table due to a lack of servers working, she sat us at an outside patio bar to wait for an open inside table. Mari came to our table and advised us there were people ahead of us waiting and it would be an hour and half before we got a table. She came off as very curt and somewhat adversarial when we advised her what the hostess had told us. Regardless, we brushed off her unpleasant demeanor and were sat inside within 10 minutes without her assistance or an apology. We are very easy to please that's why I am not making a big deal over the 28 minutes it took to get a drink, not because we were asked and they were slow, it was self initiated by stopping a waitress walking by our table and asking her if we could please be served. Just chalking it up to temporary poor management. Otherwise we highly recommend this place for a good time and can't wait to try 80s night. This place has lots of potential!! read more

I would not recommend fish and chips. Lots of streak fries with one small fish fish filet that was over cooked. Fish and chips came with steak fries and chicken sandwich came with thin fries. If you have a preference let them know. We didn't know they had two types. Service was not very good. Not very attentive at all. They said menu just changes this week. It was our first time there. Was told by my Brother the band on Tuesday nights is very good and being a fellow Clevelander; like myself. We went to the Big Rock Pub around 9 on a Saturday night and it was DEAD. No music, no crowd. But, the decor was very cool and interesting; a fun collection of rock art and memorabilia. The food was amazing-hands down the best salmon I've ever had at a restaurant. Moist and well seasoned. The accompanying potatoes and greens were likewise well prepared and tasty. The staff was courteous and the service was prompt (as it was dead, this wasn't difficult, but still appreciated). The manager came over and chatted, which was great. I was hoping for a little more activity, but it was an enjoyable experience. I would love to return during PS's busy season and enjoy their live bands. read more

I was in town for the Indian Wells tennis tournament. When I'm on vacation I always like to go to new places that I don't have back at home, to get something different. If I could give them a place a 3 1/2 I would. It's a really fun atmosphere. It's got a rock n roll oldies theme going on. The menu's are old albums from all different bands. A few times a week a live band is present. They have an amazing outdoor patio and bar with a fire pit. Any chance I get to sit outside, I will. and this place has a cool outside ambiance. The bathrooms are pretty cool to! They have guitars under and around the sinks. When we first got to the restaurant it wasn't too busy and the service was good, but towards the end it was packed and it took longer to get things. My calamari was delicious and flavorful with a twist. But I also ordered a salmon poke dish. It was lacking flavor and it definitely would not have filled me up. I'm glad I ordered an appetizer to myself with it. The presentation was awesome. It looked very high end. They have a pretty good happy hour menu. read more

Got a spicy margarita and it was amazing, ordered another and it was meh (salt on the rim different, not as spicy, much sweeter) and then the third was completely different. It was in a tall glass (not short like the others) had jalapeño that wasn't muddled and didn't taste spicy at all. Mentioned it was different than they others and the server just said all bartenders make drinks different. Not okay to me. I feel like consistency is important for making drinks for people and it sucks that I paid the same amount for two drinks than were not very good as i did for a great drink. And even after mentioning the difference the server didn't do anything about it. Update! Adding a star because I asked for drink to be taken off Bill and it was no problem. We had a great time for our first visit to big rock! The decor is a fun rock and roll theme with lots of memorabilia and a beautiful view of a golf course. Our server Rosie was very good. Despite being extremely busy she did a great job. My beet candied walnut salad was delicious. When we enquired about the house roasted beets we were able to purchase some to take home. My favorite time on the menu is the Brussel sprouts and my favorite server is hands down Jasmine! She warmly greeted my family and I our first visit and we have loved coming in since.
