We we're greeted by the beautiful hostess right away and this place was gaining customers by the second so I was happy there was no wait. Our amazing server came right away, and we ordered drinks. The drink menu didn't have much of a variety but the food menu made it for it. I had wine and my wife had a baybreeze (I believe that's the name). We order the Oysters Supreme and it was so dang good. My wife loves oysters and I am a newbie when it comes to eating them ( this was my second time in my life) and I was blown away! It was sooooo good. Then we shared an entree, called the Shuckin' Flounder. Talk about delicious!!! My favorite was the bread pudding. We took it to go and I loved that there was a note with bread pudding to give you instructions on heating annnnnddd to brag on how good it is. It did not disappoint!!! It was just as amazing at home as it was if it would have eaten it at the restaurant. I was skeptical because of this place because of the choice in seating (once again we come from restaurants and service) and there was a fan behind me but I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The menu is a bit pricey but it's oysters and seafood! We will absolutely be back! Thank you all for such a great evening!

The rice and beans were good but luke warm so took away from the experience The highlight for me was the ettoufee. It was the best I had in a very long time. Creamy and decadent. But again not hot enough. So overall could've been a 10 but with food not hot it was an 8.5

This past Sunday me and my family drove 115 minutes to eat here. I've been before so the menu I…read moreguess kind of changed. I ordered a dish to where it was a stuffed catfish. I started eating it and I coughed a lot. It was so hot and I got to the bottom of the catfish fillet that was still skin on it and it was still cold. I asked my waitress to see a manager. She never allowed me so I paid almost $30 for a dish. I didn't even eat. I called the next day to speak to a manager about my experience and he never took accountability. He just told me that there wasn't any complaints on his behalf and they never have been. Typical management stuff didn't offer me a solution for next time I come or anything like that so I've made a decision not to ever return to Prejean's even if they're the only restaurant that's open. Imagine eating food that is not fully cooked at the bottom and still cold but the top is so hot to where you can't enjoy food just disgusting. The rice dressing was crunchy, you can tell it been there for a while. He gave me heartburn so fast and severe. I asked the waitress if I could see a manager she never got me one but did bring me the check so I spent all this money on food. I couldn't even eat and the manager was like nonchalant and helping me figure out a solution so I'm nonchalant to ever eaten there again you feeding people raw meat with uncooked fish skin the bottom is just disgusting. Sure it looks good on the picture, but it wasn't even full

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

It's perfect everytime, and the broccoli is always perfect. I wish they'd share their sauce recipe so I can make it at home. They're always friendly when I come, and one time they even gave me a free gift that was like a keepsake from their culture. The fried shrimp are always big and juicy, and I think it does what it's supposed to do. = I usually use their drive thru, which has always been pretty fast for me. They'll have you park ahead and wait if you food is still being prepared, which isn't bad for me. Just means it's being fried fresh. The inside seems pretty basic and a normal ambiance, although I've seen a couple people have odd encounters. I don't know, I tend to keep things pretty simple, but others find themselves in arguments with the workers. Maybe the customer service isn't great, but like I said, my order is usually simple and I tend to drive through, so maybe the simplicity shields me from unfavorable customer service, as I don't have order modifications or special requests. I'll still be coming everytime I'm in Louisiana to get the same dish I loved since high school. Love me some Charlie's!
