Rude & do not adhere to COVID19 safety standards. Had OK experience with them before even though the owner talks a bit much about how good his business is doing and he can do without some customers. Obviously customer satisfaction is not a top priority. After COVID19, my experience with the them became a bad one. They do not adhere to the safety standards. They have masks but only on their mouths. They do not cover their noses. They stick their heads into your car without the masks over their noses while you are sitting in the driver's seat. They touch all kinds of buttons on the steering wheel without having gloves on. They did that to my car and when I used hand sanitizer on the buttons and the steering wheel, the owner took offence to that and said why don't you also wipe the whole windshield on the outside. Obviously he felt insulted from something he should have taken care of to begin with. His workers became rude along side with him. Obviously the owner suffers from a short fuse as far as his temper is concerned ans he is not shy about revealing that. I would not recommend going to his shop since there is a possibility of getting insulted simply because you are trying to protect yourself from a deadly virus. His shop is not safe and there is a potential of customers getting the corona virus. read more

We are new to Detroit as residents although we have visited our daughter here over the past few years. She has always used Big Ray's for her regular oil changes & has been completely satisfied with their service. Today was our first time bring our car & we will definitely be returning regularly. They were even able to refer us to a nearby mechanic who could take care of other needed maintenance. read more

i usually always come here to get my oil changed. the older gentleman named ahmad always takes care of me and makes sure i'm all good and treats my car like his own. but the other day a worker named hussain i believe put the wrong oil in my dodge charger and had horrible customer treatment. made me not want to come back to be honest. read more

This place is running a scam. The exact same thing happened to me as in the past two negative reviews. I needed an oil change and took my car here because I had found a coupon for a $19.99 oil change online. Big mistake. Right off the bat, they were extremely degrading to me and blatantly lying to me about things that were "wrong" with my car. They refused to honor my coupon with literally no explanation (the coupon WAS still valid). They then told me they found metal shavings in my oil (like the previous review) and tried to force me into spending $200 on a "cleanse" as well as $50 for some sort of additive. None of this was necessary. Extremely rude, unhelpful, unknowledgeable staff. Go literally anywhere else besides here. read more

Stopped by for my oil change on my way to work. No wait. The guys went right to work and I was in and out in 10 mins! This is awesome. I did have the oil with me coming in, he gave me a price right off the bat for filter and oil change. They showed me the filter that was changed, before and after. He even checked my tire pressure. Very honest work! Very nice and clean place. They were super efficient working all together to get me out of there in 10 mins. Fantastic and I couldn't recommend a better oil change than this place! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! Also look at other Big Ray yelps in other locations. People complain about the same thing. I really wish my daughter would have checked yelp and called me before she went to this place. She heard a strange noise in her car and came here last week since the engine light was on and was worried. The Big Rays employee told her that the dealer had put in the wrong oil, since it was a diesel car, and that she had to get it changed. They charged her over $100 dollars for the oil change including a $50 dollar additive. I called this place the next day and asked to speak to the manager. The employee said he wasn't available and didn't know when he would be. I proceeded to ask him what exactly they had found was wrong with my daughter's car. He told me to look at my daughter's receipt. He briefly stated that he remembers her coming in the night before and that there was metal scrapings in her oil and that the oil looked really old and thick. I told him that her oil was just changed a few months before, less than 2,000 miles ago and it is a NEW car with only 14,000 miles. He kept insisting that the dealer put the wrong oil and it needed to be changed. He then stated he couldn't talk to me anymore and was NOT responsible for what was done. We took the car to the dealer to get checked 2 days later and they stated that there is no way they would have put the wrong oil, since they put the VIN number of the car when it is serviced and this info. goes directly to the parts department and orders the oil that the car needs. Plus they only use dexos oil. They checked the car and found no evidence of metal scrapings. He said that if they had found metal scrapings that this has nothing to do with the oil. He also stated that the additive that Big Rays charged her $50 dollars for was not necessary since the car only has 14,000 miles on it. The dealer found the engine light was on, but it was due to the oxygen sensor of the car was malfunctioning. The dealer said that whatever oil Big Rays put in the car was overfilled ( see other yelp review on 03/20/15) and there is no way of knowing what type of oil a car has by just looking at it. It is really sad that this place has to take advantage of their customers, especially females. The employees have no ethics and it is a shame that this place are trying to scam people and don't care about truly helping them and ripping them off. See the yelp review from Byron on 03/20/15. Please know your vehicle because they will try to get all they can $$ scare you with telling you if you don't get this extra stuff done your car will go dead. I hate Scammers and that's what they are about.. I got a transmission flush for 189.00 because they said my fluid was suppose to be cherry red and check again in a year.. 2 months went bye and I went to a different place and got a oil change and they said it's not Cherri red and showed me and they over filled it.. So now I'm irritated that now I might not have a case but I will try and let everyone know how they handled my situation read more

I should mention that $70 is for full synthetic oil on a V-8 engine. If you have a smaller car it will be way less expensive.

I love going to Big Ray's. As a woman I also feel comfortable coming here and not feeling as if I was just ripped off. The service is friendly and welcoming. I recommend Abe, he is great, one time I was worried about a specific problem and he gave me his personal cell phone in case I needed any extra help. I have recently changed vehicles and moved homes about 20 minutes out of the way, but I still always come to Big Rays. read more

I wanted to get an oil change on my 2011 car and he told me $63! It included a new filter but that's still a lot. I was like ....? I went to another place and they only charged me $45 and with a new filter! I saved $18. Although I do hear good things about this place I don't plan on going there. read more
