Usually only going out of my way to write positive reviews, but my experience at this Big Ray's location today was terrible. While they are efficient and seemingly easy to deal with - I was hit with the charge for the service above basic this morning without being asked if it was what I wanted. It was not what I wanted, and it was unnecessary. I told the men working that this was not the service I wanted, why they would assume something above the basic service without asking, and that what they did was shady and didn't settle well with me. They had nothing to say. Needless to say, I won't be going back, because this is highly unprofessional, and I wanted to warn others in the event they get taken advantage of as well. This was seriously the worst "mechanic" shop I have ever been to. I went in for a simple oil change with my new to me Toyota Camry and when I drove away my car sounded like a diesel Volkswagen Jetta. By the time I got out of work the shop was closed so I went to a different mechanic which pointed out my air filter was put in the incorrect way and I was also missing the bolts that went to the casing around the filter. This was making my car misfire and my sensors go crazy!!! I went back to the oil change shop the following morning to ask for my money back since they completely messed up my car and they told me they wouldn't do that for me and they admitted that their phone there was inoperable and that corporate never answers their phone so there is nobody at this business helping with customer service. I usually frequent the location on Alpine and have had good service in the past, but now every time I visit there are new employees and they are not very friendly. I pulled up for an oil change the same time as another vehicle. They waived in the first vehicle and then ignored me for about 5 minutes, they had 2 bays open. They didn't come out and tell me it would be a minute, they just ignored me, so I left and I won't be back, ever. A few days later I was on 28th st and stopped by that Big Ray's. They changed my oil but were not friendly at all. They showed me my oil before the change and it was very dark. They suggested an oil flush, which I have never heard of, I declined. They supposedly changed my oil and then showed me the new oil. Same color, they said "should have got the oil flush." What a scam, beware!! I have a new vehicle and I get the oil changes and recommended service done on time. read more

On the wall, "Synthetic Oil Change $49". I paid $67 out the door. Asked why price was $17 more than price quoted on sign. I was told Synthetic oil is costly. Ok, I get that, but isn't that's why its priced higher than the other oil change? I thought it was included in the $49. So what did I pay for at $49? Won't ever, never, ever go back!! I was very disappointed on my last service. I have gone to this location for over two years. I went in for a full service oil change and only received an oil change. The older gentlemen of the three waited on me. He did not show me my oil level after the oil was filled. He did not check my lights, fluid levels, or tire pressure. I had to ask about my tire pressure. He made the younger gentlemen do it even though he was working on another customers vehicle. Funny how my receipt says everything was completed and OK on the service check list. He asked me if I knew how to reset my oil light - three times. Each time I said yes - with the last one sternly. I was talked down to and was not treated as a customer. Time to find a new oil change place! read more

On July 2, 2015 I had my oil changed there. I have ALWAYS had my service done at a Toyota dealer except for oil changes. I figured any one should be able to do that. While there they suggested I have the Transmission fluid changed. The timing was right and I figured anyone can do that. NOT. They over filled it a lot. I am now in South Carolina and have a vehicle with a damaged tranny. Over $4,000 plus labor for a new one and over $20,000 for a comparable vehicle. REally expensive oil change. read more

I have been going here for quite some time now. They must have changed managers or something because the last time i was there i didnt recognize any one from the previous visits, and they didnt do as they normallydo like check tires or top off any fluids that are low and didnt put a sticker on the windshield with the next visit milage on it, and rude i thought, but i thought maybe they had a bad day or something...today i brought in my wifes suv we just bought earlyer that day for a transmission flush and to top off my powerfluid and washer levels, ive had 3 transmission fluid changes done here previously so i know what they do but to day they drained the fluid showed me how dark it was and then filled it, no start no cycle though the torque converter and told me i was done i said he wasnt done and he said that all cars are different,i said ok my ford i brought here u drained filled ran whent though the gears and draind again and the refilled but this you just drained and filled he said it wasnt as bad...hu! Wait this has a 143,000 miles on it, my ford had 40,000 so now i have all the old fluid from the torque converter in My new fluid...but he said its was bright pink its good i told him i wouldn't come back.that he didnt do a flush at all he just draind it and filled hell i could have done that for 30 bucks i wont be back read more
