First and foremost we go to certain places expecting honest work. I went to Big O Tires on silverbell and changed out my two front tires. When I was waiting I noticed the tech reving my engine but I figured no bi deal. When the car was given to me the tech has dragged his boots on the floor boards but again i figured i could clean it. This morning when i was looking at the be tires I noticed a big scratch on my drivers side wheel. So I looked at the passenger side and noticed one lug nut punctured and the rest look like they were so tight they almost stripped them. I'm very disappointed with the tech. read more

Compassion Equates to Greatness! I had a blow out on my RV coming from Texas, and found the first tire shop off I could find. The young gentleman behind the counter, sensing my frustration, told me that they unfortunately couldn't exchange the RV spare tire because of the weight. He then referred me to another reputable tire shop down the street. But instead of sending me off, he fixed my tire at no charge, so I at least have another spare in case I decided to continue my trip to CA. Lastly, he bid us, safe travels! This, folks, is humanity! After they were out of the bed the guy told me it was going to be sixty dollars. When I asked if that price was for real, he said "we don't work for free." No kidding. So all I did was two tires on the front of my vehicle. I noticed the tech dragged his feet in my floor panels but i let it be. this morning when I was gonna shine my new tires the drivers side wheel had a big scrape on the wheel. A friend of mine took her car into the Thornydale rd store to have the timing belt replaced. Car ran perfect and this was a reccomended thing because of the mileage. Car was picked up and kept stalling. She took it back and now needs an engine because somehow the engine jumped time. Saying it had issues prior to them working on it and it's nothing they did. I bought new tires and paid almost $900.00 at the Tucson location on Old Vail Road. I called about bringing it back to do a tire rotation and alignment check on Friday and was told by Alesia to bring it in on Saturday when I arrived at 9 as we agreed she said I would need to leave it all day or come back on Monday they were down a mechanic and was very rude. Once they get your money they don't care anymore. This will be the last time I do business with these kind of people. read more

Purchased all 4 new tires, within a week one was flat, returned to the location to have it fixed, every day since the "repair" I've had to put air in the tire. Went back today, manager was extremely rude and told me to figure it out on my own or take it to another location. Had no consideration, sympathy, or any basic customer service! He should not be a manager and I'll be filing complaints and leaving reviews everywhere to save people like myself, who are on a budget from getting treated terribly after spending $500+ on tires used to transport their families on a daily basis. read more

Extremely trustworthy. I went in for a free flat repair and they took care of me quickly. The day before I went to a "discount" tire place that is well known with many locations, and they told me that the tire was unrepairable. They gave me two excuses why they couldn't safely repair the tire. They were trying to sell me a new tire. Luckily, because the vehicle isn't mine, I had to ask my buddy what he wanted me to do. I was planning on putting 2 new tires on the car. My buddy asked me to take it to his Big O Tires shop on Silverbell because they take care of all his vehicles. So the next morning I visited Big O but did not tell them about the other shop's opinion and attempt to sell me a tire. After a reasonable wait the mechanic gave me the key and said I was good to go, no charge. I spoke to the service manager and for the first time told him about the other place. The service manager double'd down on the fact that the tire was repairable. If it had even been a close call his mechanic would have told him to look at it or at least have a discussion with me. This tire was not marginal, it was clearly worthy of a repair. Big O on Silverbell is my new tire shop! read more

It pains me to write this because these guys are always so busy. BUT I firmly believe this is hands down the best all around auto shop in town and deserve mad props. I have been taking our vehicles and trailer to Eric, Andrew and Ernie for several years for a few reasons. Most impoimportantly, they are all about SAFETY FIRST. My family is the most important part of me, and they know that. They would never allow me to drive any of our vehicles off of their property that they did not believe was completely safe. This is priceless. Secondly, they are honest. If something does not absolutely need to be done, they tell me that. This Big O is not interested in giving incorrect information or charging extra. They are up front about what the vehicle needs and the costs involved. Finally, if they can't do something on a vehicle, they are up front about it. They will always point you in a direction that they trust. Unfortunately many auto shops figure out who is not car savvy and take advantage. Not here. These guys are some of the most kind, professional people you could meet. They treat their employees well and it shows. I'm hoping this review doesn't make them more busy, but what can I say? Finding good mechanics can be difficult and I consider my family blessed to have Eric, Andrew and Ernie down the road. My big piece of advice is have some time or a ride. They are very busy and don't take appointments. However, it is well worth a little bit longer! You can always visit the fabulous Brewed Awakenings in the lot. read more

These guys are overall no-nonsense and professional. The two stars is because a year ago I replaced three tires with them and was not told that the "standard" warrantee (which is free) does not cover things like nails or thorns or stones puncturing your tires. But this is how you get a flat! So I am paying a full price for a new tire as a result. To get a free tire for when it's flat (you still pay for labor) you would need to pay $23 per tire for their extended warrantee. Not cool of them not to have let me know about it. read more

I ran over a piece of metal that pierced my tire. I want to a different national tire company and they told me that my tire could not be repaired. Since I have a vehicle that is all-wheel drive, that meant that I would have to change all four tires. This was a lot more money than I was planning to spend. On a Saturday morning, I noticed my tires were balding, pressures were erratic and the appearance of two tires looked like it was dangerous to drive. I phoned in to Big O tires and the phone was quickly picked up by a gentleman who was excited, ready to listen and was eager to help. Asked me to bring it by to check out. On the phone I mentioned, " I'm sure it will need at least two tires" pretty much giving him the idea that was okay to charge for two tires regardless of need. Wasn't intentional. Understanding that info Eric still eagerly wanted to check the tires. Upon check in, he suggested that there was still some life in the tires and he suggested we did a couple things that seemed like a good idea. I ended up getting an oil change while I was at it and Eric even threw a small discount on there. What I thought was going to be an eventful Saturday of seeing how much I was going to have to spend on getting my truck right again, turned out to be an experience that will make me a customer for life there. Let's just say I have gone twice to these guys questioning what two different tire places told Me on two different issues. Both times the guys here were spot on that I did not have an issue with what the other tire companies told me. What I thought each time was going to cost me a couple hundred dollars ended up costing me nothing but my time. I immediately made an appointment to have my other car serviced with them. I was camping in Tucson and got a flag tire. I went into Big O and they had a super long line. Thankfully, Ernie went out of his way and helped me get my tire fixed in less than 30 mins. He initially quoted me 3-4 hours because they were slammed, but after finding out i was from out of town, he understood my situation and helped me out tremendously. Without fail I always have tire trouble on the weekend, when most tire places are closed. Because of this I have to pick from meager options. Last-time I went to Firestone and had an awful experience. I just tried Discount on Kino and again, had an awful experience. Despite this, when you've got a flat you have no choice but to go back to a tire store. Big O was thankfully opened on a Sunday and very busy. Despite this they got me in and out in close to an hour. Eric was very patient with my endless questions about pricing as I figured out what I could afford and wanted to do. I didn't feel like I was wasting his time. Other sales people at other stores have come across annoyed and frustrated with my questions. Thank you Eric for your patience! I do wish I could have seen the tire choices before buying. I didn't want to eat up any more time though as Eric was answering the phone, handling walk-ins and costumers coming back for their cars all at once. As a woman, sadly, that has not always been my experience with mechanics. The young man at the counter (I did not get his name but he was working Wednesday 4/5 around 5:00 and Thursday 4/6 in the morning and afternoon) was very helpful and walked me through all my options. They also did a free alignment check and told me I was all set there- good to know there's a business out there that won't just tell you that you need things you don't actually need just to squeeze extra money out of you. I did not have to make an actual appointment, I went in on Wednesday and gave all the information and they told me to drop my car off anytime on Thursday, it only took about an hour and a half to complete the job. I normally don't review a place until I have had a chance to visit at least twice, but this Big O Tires location is an exception for me. I have been going to another tire chain in Tucson for many years now, and have often been dissatisfied with the treatment I received there. Because I hardly ever need to have tire work done, I just kept going to that same place. Last week my car alerted me to low tire pressure in one of my tires, and I was close to the *other* place and drove in to get my air filled. As I was backing out, the guy told me "oh you have a screw in your tire and you should get that fixed soon-ish". So that, dear readers, was my tipping point. Why are they letting me drive away with a screw in my tire?? So I drove to Big O. This one happens to be close to my house (oooh so convenient!). When I walked in I was greeted, cheerfully and receptively, by Erik. I already knew I was just going to purchase 4 new tires for my car (I was going to do this before finding out about the screw). I had a few questions about some different tires, and during our entire conversation Erik was enTIREly (get it?) knowledgeable and respectful. When he noticed that it was only a few minutes to 10:30am (the strict cutoff time to order tires so they can get the work done that same day) he rushed super fast to make sure I'd have my tires put on that day. All in all, their prices were exactly the same as the *other* tire place, and I feel like Big O's service was outstanding. I went once a few years ago for tires and got a great quote and better service but then was gifted new tires so I didn't use them. Fast forward a few years, new car with hard to find tires guess who was the only tire shop that had them in stock! I called maybe 17 places because I am 40 miles away from this location but still they were the ones and I'm glad to have been able to give them my business! I'll be back soon for a full set on both cars and probably helping my sis get a full set too! These guys are awesome. I got two tires a few months ago and opted to put the white walls on the inside since I couldn't afford all 4 tires at the same time. When I went back this week for the other two tires the guys turned all the white walls out for me and cleaned the brake dust off the front ones! They could have sent me rolling and had me clean this all myself since it wasn't really part of how the tires operate, but they knew how important this was to the look of the vehicle. Very nice and honest people. One of my tires was noticeably flatter than the others so I took it in to have them look at it. They told me that the wheel itself is corroded so they scrubbed off the rust and sealed it. They told me they were not sure if the sealant was going to last so they did not charge me. They also recommended me places to see a wheel specialist if the tire starts leaking again. read more

Very polite and helpful. I came this morning as I suspected I had a slow leak in one of my tires. They filled my tires within 2 minutes free of charge. I asked if I needed to make an appointment to return in the afternoon to confirm/deny if there was a leak in one of the tires. They informed me it is first-come-first-serve. I returned in the afternoon and received service immediately. They discovered there was no leak, simply the sensor was in an improper position and corrected that free of charge.
