I called and was quoted $85 for a full synthetic oil change and was told that it was $115 when I arrived, because I was told that my vehicle needs more oil than the average car. I gave them the make and model when I called to get the quote. I don't like the bait and switch. I also asked them to check the level in my front differential, which used to be part of an oil change. They found it was empty and refused to add fluid to it and wanted another $139 to do a differential service. I will not be returning. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could... but 1 star will have to do...Made an appt for 10AM for 2 vehicles to get a tire rotation and a flat repair on one of them. We showed up on time and was quoted an hour and a half to get the work done. Nearly 3 hrs later they inform me that they cannot repair the flat due to the location of the puncture. They cannot tell me where the hole is. They say that because it is AWD I will have to buy 4 new tires. (This is the second time they have said this to me). I explain that they said the same thing last time I was there and the sales rep responds with severe attitude "I am not the one that ran over the nail". At this point I am upset and tell them to just put the tire back on. I leave and go to Les Schwab, they fix the flat and rotate the tires on my car in under 30min. Meanwhile my truck is still at Big O for another 2 hrs. Taking them a total of 5 hrs to check the alignment and rotate tires when I had a 10 o'clock appt scheduled. Needless to say I will not be buying tires from Big O or taking any of my vehicles there for service ever again. Highly recommend going to Les Schwab as they are kind, friendly, and will actually take care of you. read more

They saw me coming, a female stops to get a slow leak repaired and was told that the tire couldn't be repaired and I would need to buy a new tire, not only that I needed all four new tires! Just my luck this is the second time this has happened to me going to Big O with just a low tire. I told them no and went to a another reputable business near there and was in and out with a repair no problem. What a sad business to have to try and force people to buy things with false information! I was done dirty at another big names tire place. Im talking legal dirty. Big O I was hesitant about originally based off reviews, but they had a good deal on tires so i gave them a shot. This was a year ago. They were beyond respectful. They showed concern. Worked with me on every question I had. And the price was fair. I went back to them today because 1 of my tires went bald faster than anticipated. Elijah was attentive, considerate to my financial restriction, and kind. They have some of the best customer service I have seen in this town in a very long time. They are quick to get it done but also take the time to ensure its done right. They educate on proper maintenance. Not to make a sale.. but to ensure you are safe in the future. Empathy and listening goes a long way with people. I dont see myself going anywhere else, and i strongly recommend them to anyone needing tires. Thank you Elijah and all the guys for helping me today. I walked in at 12:25 and asked if they had time to repair my right rear tire on my car. I waited less than one minute until I was greeted by one of the three guys working the front desk. They pulled my car in about 12:37 and started working on it. By 1:03 I was in my car again ready to go. Tire repair shops are short handed everywhere but these guys managed to fit me in. I went in and bought 2 tires a year and a half ago. Went in 3 months ago and requested they change the other 2 . I picked up the car and noticed the new tire and did not pay attention to the other side . I noticed after 3 months that the passenger tire was in bad shape. Went back to see if it had a warranty and they informed me they had only sold me one tire. Not to mention they did not do what I asked for plus they made every tire a different tire pressure. Went into the shop to get a bunch of stuff done for our church van a couple days ago and they had it all done within a few hours and everything looked great. Decided to trust them again to investigate an issue with my other van because it was shaking when driving at high speeds and I needed it done right away because we were going on a trip. They got the van in right away and found it simply needed a good balancing. Had me in and out of there in a half hour and didn't charge me for the consult. Drove away and the shaking had subsided! Stay Away! I hate writing bad reviews but this place....well, I will keep it civil and just say that its sometime that you'd hate to have to scrape off the bottom of your shoes after walking your dog. Especially stay away from front end alignments and tire balancing! Finally I went to a different tire shop and got a good alignment and balanced tires. Comparing the two reports was very telling. Almost all the data was different and significant. That means that the two different mechanics at B.O. didn't have a clue how to do and alignment and the technicians at the second tire shop were great, educated and experienced. Went in to have my tires rotated and balanced that I bought from them. Was told they didn't have time. I work a lot and can't really get in before 4:00. I also work Saturdays. Talked with Rob the manager. He did nothing to find a solution or give me an idea of when the best day might be. I get it's hard to know, but most business have days that are usually busier than others. He just kept giving me a lame excuse that he is short staffed. No solution, no help, no anything. I ended up just paying someone else to do it. Do not buy tires here or get any service from them. Their customer service is by far the worst. No wonder they have such a bad reviews. I would give zero if I could. They work hard to sell you tires, but don't want to do too much after they are sold. I am sure if I would have kept trying and my tires would have worn funny, they wouldn't have honored the warranty either even though I tried to get it done. Not an honest place to do business. Stay away. The other sad part is my family has used Big O for years, ever since I can remember as a little kid. I have talked with all my family. None of us will be going back. read more

I took my truck into Big O in Tooele, UT, to have my driver side wheel bearing/hub assembly replaced. I told them to not look at anything else on the truck because that was all I was there for them to fix. They called me back a couple hours later and told me I needed all new front brakes, and it wasn't the wheel bearing. I told them that it was 100% the wheel bearing that needed to be replaced, and that I had just looked at the brake pads and they were still very good. They called me back a couple hours later and told me I was correct, and it was the wheel bearing that need to be replaced, but also I needed to replace my drivers side CV Axle, and all of my struts. I told them to just do the Wheel Bearing and CV Axle, and THAT'S ALL. The next day they called me and said that the CV Axle and Wheel bearing had been changed, but that I also needed all new upper and lower Ball Joints and Tie Rods. I told them to not change any of that, and I would be down to pay for the work that had already been done, and take it home. They told me that I couldn't take the truck anywhere, because it was to dangerous to drive. And if I tried to take it after paying for the work that had already been done, they wouldn't give me my keys and would be calling the police. I ended up just saying ok, and fix it all. The next day ( 3 days after dropping it off for a wheel bearing change.) I went to pick it up. They charged me $3000 for all of that unneeded extra work. Driving my truck home, it was steering horribly. Took it to Les Schwab and they fixed it for free after hearing my story. This Big O is ran by con artists, and mechanics that have no idea what they are doing. I highly suggest taking your business to Les Schwab in Tooele. read more

Fuel pump went out on my Pontiac in the middle of the night. Tow driver recommended this place to drop car. Went and got a hotel and returned in the morning. After diagnosis, shop confirmed fuel pump and quoted $349. (I had already gone across the street to O'Reillys and got quote for pump. $219. (Which means shop paid probably $130) + 1-2 hr. labor, so $349 sounded reasonable.) Job was finished in just over an hour. Went to pay my bill and was charged $349 for pump +$189 labor. Tires are always a chore. Ours were in bad shape, we discovered one even had a nail in it (aren't we observant?), so we needed to get in and git er done. We walked in, no appointment, and 20 minutes later they gave us our key back letting us know our car was done. Tires look great, everyone was friendly, and the 24/7 roadside assistance protection documentation for the tires leaves a warm fuzzy feeling in my glove compartment. Thanks guys! read more

They didn't put any wheel weights on the inside of the rim, so the wheel was shaking. When I called to find out what the problem was, he informed me that "you don't put weights on the inside of the wheel". After I let him know I have been working in a shop for 3+ years , he began to take back his initial claim. After further explaining the problem he then asked, "so?, What do you want me to do?" The manager came across as someone who might manage a McDonald's or local café. Not one that would run a tire shop. After refusing any fault he told me he has a "good crew" that wouldn't take shortcuts like that. I wouldn't stop there even if I had an emergency and they were the only ones open. They offer nothing more than expensive tires, and no resolution to their customers problems. However the lady who awnsered the phone was very nice and polite. 10/10 on her part. read more

I brought my truck in to have he tires balanced and rotated. It only took them 10 minutes Ina an out. Sounded too good to be true and I was right. Went across the street to find that the tires were never balanced. Not a single weight on any of the 4 tires. It was obvious they had never even cleaned the inside of the rims to stick the weights to balance them. I took the truck back and they argued with me that they had balance the tires. After removing the tires and balancing them a second time they had to add to add obvious amounts of weight to balance them. This time cleaning the inside of the rim so the weights would stick. They then told me they only balance two of the 4 tires unless you ask for all 4 to be balanced. I asked he service manager what he was going to do to make this situation right and he refused to even talk to me. I will never take any of my vehicles to a big O tires location ever again. read more
